Appauling service

I almost think they were trying to wind me up.

Paid for my order, they ignored me for a week, then said I need to validate, pointed out this was already done.

They are a class A joke.

Avoid this company like the plague

I never write reviews, I just read them but with this site they had a deal and instead of me researching the bad/good reviews. I just brought a certificate few days ago and would like a refund; due to their lack of research and customer service, they provided to me. As of now, I just keep getting the run around and I will never ever recommend this company and products to any of my clients as a business owner.

The product cost was EV SSL certificate and I still have not gotten any refund back...

Please stay far away from this Comodo and any affiliations. It is not worth the pain I am going through as a small business owner....

Awful. Avoid, unless you have weeks worth of spare time to waste...

You will probably never in your life have to deal with incompetence from a bunch of idiots at a company than you will with Comodo.

Verifying any EV SSL certificate through them takes weeks of painstaking email exchanges, repetitions of the same words and jumping through hoops from their own contradictory requests.

We've now ceased all our service requirements with them and we require in excess of 100 SSL certificates a year. We're now using a different SSL supplier that is actually living in the real world.

SSL Hell!

This is the second year in a row that I have found myself in SSL hell with Comodo. Very poor communication resulting in expired SSLs when I ordered new SSLs over a month ago.

I won't be using them again!

Unable to get them to complete the validation call

Having bought a EV SSL cert. I have now been trying for two weeks to have them make their validation call, so our business and phone number can be verified.
They have been making one appointment after the other, and never followed through on any of them.
The order will now be canceled, as I can't get them to do their job, and make the validation call.

Antivirus protection speedy and reliable, bar none.

For a free program, this beats the Grisoft people, and they were great too. Although Comodo offers other protections (which are NOT 5-star), this component is reliable, catches attacks in timely fashion and updates frequently to be on top of their game.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid!

We purchased a 2 year EV Multi Domain SSL certificate back in 2012. On purchasing this, the sales rep offered an additional year, for free, in order to be competitive with other offers I had received. I took him up on the deal and continued with the signup.

After a difficult installation period and trouble communicating through various departments via contact forms, overseas departments and knowledge bases, we finally managed to get the certificate installed and working.

When we came to add a second domain to the certificate a year later, we once again had to jump through hoops, as this was not made clear how to install. Eventually we managed to complete this after several days of emails with support.

Now to 2014. We received an advanced warning that the SSL certificate was due to expire, so I queried this with the rep who told me that the certificate was a 2 year certificate, and to get the third year free, we would need to submit a new CSR to obtain a renewed single year certificate. After doing this, I was sent a new certificate to install on our server which was duly done.

On the 01/02/2014 the certificate ran out. Not just the old one, but the new one too. Because the new one was not in fact new, but the same old replacement certificate! Our website has now been unsecured and had been losing customers and orders for two days.

Having queried this with support, I was put through to sales who wanted me to buy a new certificate. After explaining that I would not be buying another certificate, they arranged for me to place an incomplete order, which accounts would 'zero', in order to put the sale through.

I found this very frustrating, and after several communications, was still being told that the best thing would be to buy a new certificate.

After receiving no confirmation of order, nor any more communication, I chased the rep who's tone became aggressive, and was still advising that buying a certificate would be the quickest solution.

I still have no valid SSL certificate and feel like the position of power that Comodo has over our company at the present time is being abused by certain members of staff. I assume that sales of SSL certificates are done on commission, hence the overbearing pressure for me to renew as opposed to Comodo fixing the problem by issuing the certificate which we have already paid for.

I find this complete process a shambles and as such cannot see how Comodo can possibly expect me, or anyone else to want renew an SSL certificate with them after receiving such atrociously poor service.

Avoid!

HackerProof service, fine until it needs renewing, oh apart from the false positives.

First of all, the good. SSL certificates are fine. No real problems there, the EV certificate we have provides the green address bar as it should. They let you know when it's going to expire. Purchasing/renewing is a little tricky as to get decent pricing we have to place through our own reseller account, which is fiddly and time consuming.

My real issue is with their PCI scanning services. We seem to get it for free with the EV SSL Certificate we have, allegedly at a massive discount of over a thousand dollars. However, getting the service for free is a complete pain, as we have to navigate several different web interfaces to generate a free order, validate it as a reseller, then once the order is created we seem to have to claim it within the HackerProof control panel, and then create a new device using that license. Fine if you have to do it once, but it seems to expire more frequently than yearly, and suddenly we can not prove our PCI compiance to the bank, hence our fees go up.

Any attempt to ask support about it is met with stock answers, and you really have to dig to get to the root of the problem. If the service we are getting for free is really worth over $1000 then I would expect premium support. However we paid for Hackerproof at the list price in our first year, and the support was still as bad and the interface still as confusing and convoluted.

Then there's the issue of false positives from the PCI scans. I have to keep renewing them without any warning (so the site goes out of compliance), and very often the issue is to do with Comodo not understanding how Ubuntu version numbers work. Ubuntu is a very common operating system for hosting now. They should have this fixed!

In all honestly, when it works it's fine, but given the time taken to sort out problems, the complexity of the various web interfaces, and the inability of support to show any initiative at all, I can't recommend them.

CIS are great, SomeGeekbuddies sucks

I am not a fanboy from comodo but i must to say i never will be infected while i use it, now i use it, is my third year and I am a happy usser whith the product, but i think you have a lot of things to improve.

1.- The guarantee terms are not clear or transparent, dont say nothing about some third party software of comon use like malwarebytes free, and dont say nothing about the people who dont live on USA

2.- The geekbuddies sometimes dont prevent the consecuences of their actions, one time i ask to upgrade my product because i have troubles whith this and i can not initilalize windows on normal mode only in safe mode. I ask to other to check if every thing are ok whith windows and whith comodo and only open the comodo main window and says all ok and waste two hours of my time for that.

The other things are ok, are a comprensive and a trusted security software I can give to comodo the work to mantain my computer safe. I trust on comodo like product and ideology, but, i think must improve in that cuestions. I can repeat all the other users says.

Great firewall, Great AV, Great Sandbox, Great kiosk, Great behavior shield, Diagnostic tool usseful, Great detection and repation rating, and instantanly support (not the best but instantanly).

No more please Improve that things, dont lost users, maybe if i dont have this problems a few days ago i will give you five starts

360 Protection - For free, How cool is that?

It's everything I could wish for from a security suite in terms of features:

* AntiVirus - with very good detection rate ;
* Firewall - highly effective and easy to use ;
* Sandbox/Virtual Kiosk - for worry-free internet browsing and shopping/banking ;
* Proactive Defense+ Protection (the only one that can prevent rootkits 100%, among other threats) ;

But this security suite from COMODO reaches one step further, compared to the competition: it offers all these features FREE for end users. I could hardly believe it myself that an Internet Security product could ever be free to use, not to mention also better than many other programs from the same category.

My opinion - worth a try. Try it, love it, keep it :)

The best support and and quite possibly the best security system available.

I have Comodo Internet Security Pro 2013 and they provide live remote support included.They have helped me out a few times with virus removal and when an uninstall failed they fixed it for me.They even include a 500.00 virus free guarantee with the paid version.Their security is top notch but still simple enough for novices using the default settings.I have tried out a lot of different security systems and I can honestly say that Comodo offers about the best protection available.It even comes in a free version but without remote assistance and virus free guarantee but still a full suite and the same great protection.I highly recommend Comodo paid and free security suites.
