Cognism selling you personal data

Cognism are in the business of selling your personal details for profit. Despite trying to have my details removed from their database multiple times on their official form, I continue to get marketing calls on my private number. When I ask the sales person where they got my details, most often it is Cognism.

Effective and Reliable Research Tool

Cognism does exactly what I need it to, and I use it every week. The UI and filters make adjusting searches simple. You can save your searches which saves a lot of time. Integration was effortless, and although I don't need support often, it's there when I need it.

Andre their sales guy didn't even turn up for meeting

We were provided with some test data from this company, and everything seemed fine, so we scheduled a meeting to finalize the purchase.

I even arranged for my Managing Director to attend since we were about to spend nearly £3,000. However, when the time came, their sales rep, Andre, didn’t bother to show up.

We waited until five minutes past the scheduled time, at which point my MD left the meeting, understandably upset.

This was a complete waste of our time and an unprofessional experience. We expected much better, especially given the investment we were prepared to make.

Horrible data, horrible tool

My current and last sales org both uses Cognism for the UK market and both times completely disappointing.

Not only do they lack and have horrible mobile phone data, the worst part is the LinkedIn Sales Nav extension. It takes forever to load each prospect's data and trust me it really adds up when you are trying to sequence 30/40/50 people.

I reached out to the CS contact and they say it will be looked at and still the same.

Do not recommend this tool to any high performing sales teams.

After somehow landing on their database the scam calls went through the roof, is thier policy everyone's money is green or do they vet their clients?

Be careful about reviewing these guys, it seems that they like to keep their profile clean and report negative reviews.

I have tried to complain to them directly with no reply, I have logged a complaint with ACMA and the privacy commissioner.

Don't be fooled by the positive reviews.

I all of a sudden started getting spammed with "ATO", "Amazon" calls out of the blue.

Then started getting people who I had blocked on LinkedIn calling me trying to sell me stuff that I could not been further from being interested in!

They make it difficult to opt out!

Message to cognism, I was happy to solve this directly with you but you chose to not want to take my data off your list or reply to my complaint directly to you!

Now a few days in and the only person bothering to reply to my emails Andy Main has washed his hands of it apparently he's the only person located in Australia. He blames the timezone differences between us and his over lords for the lack of reply.

I didn't think there was a several day time difference

DO NOT HIRE them

They will sell you a package saying you will get unlimited contacts, yet hide the fact that they charge .25 for each contact to be downloaded for use! We need bulk download that would cost us over $10k a year. SO they provide data you cant use unless you pay a HUGE amount. They dont return emails answering questions or to drop the bomb on pricing. Thank God we havent paid the bill yet. They are FIRED! They will hound you to the point you want to scream during the sale, then not be there and pretend they told you about their additional charges. Terrible company so far. Would give a 0.

Cognism is a market leading tool that has absolutely revolutionised the way i work. I found a lot of my time was used up sourcing the correct stakeholder and how to get in contact with them, with cognism my efficiency has gone through the roof and an exercise that used to take me up to 2 hours, now takes me less than 10 minutes. I could not recommend cognism more to any business.

Personal data obtained and shared without permission

I have received a few unsolicited sales calls on my personal number recently. After investigating, I discovered that my details had been sold by Cognism. I did not consent to having my personal information stored or shared in this manner. I had to contact Cognism to request the removal of my data from their database. I strongly encourage Cognism to respect privacy by ensuring all data sharing is consensual.
