noisy ads

Five stars for an Imax presentation, but one star for all the noisy, imbecilic ads, promos, games and other projected commercials beforehand. In fact I now realize why smart theatre-goers wait until the last minute to enter the theatre, since the seats are reserved. I found the experience at a recent Vancouver Scotiabank screening of Project Hail Mary to be an initial half-hour of aggravation--topping it off, your theatre showed a trailer for the very film we were about to see, with spoilers in it (I closed my eyes)! Perhaps most cineplex patrons just talk and put up with the ads, but for me, it's a turn-off. Next time, I'll wait until the film is available to stream, without ads, on my home tv.

Pretty bad customer service

Cineplex Guest Service's is probably the worst customer experience I've had. I was looking to see if I could exchange my tickets as they were accidentally purchased for the wrong date. I've never done this before and figured I could exchange them as the tickets were never used/scanned. The man on the phone just said "no." when I asked if this was something I could do. There was no "unfortunately this isn't our policy" or "I apologize for the inconvenience"
Dude sounded so fed up. He just said "no." When I asked about other options. Idk if he was having a bad day but as someone who works in customer service, I at least try to make everyone have a good experience or explain why we can't do something. I understand people can be aggressive on the phone but I was polite and simply asking if anything can be done. To anyone who needs help with customer service, just use the live-chat option next time. :/

Three of us went to Hail Mary in…

Three of us went to Hail Mary in Vancouver at marine gate way theater. The movie was well worth seeing , exceptional! But when they charge you $53 for two large popcorn and to med drinks and two small bags of candy now that’s why people are not going to see a movie or enjoy it ! That’s ludicrous to charge people that much ! I noticed about a third of the patrons had popcorn and pop , there is a reason why . I can not believe the people in the cineplex movie hierarchy are that out of touch with realizing what a foul experience that leaves us with . They can’t figure out why ! I’ll never go to the movies and buy another thing from the concession stand … sorry

Change of policy needed

Pros: Coupons are available regularly, so it's one of the cheapest cinemas. Can sneak in food and drinks.
Cons: Coupons are somehow almost never redeemable for Indian movies. Why this weird rule? I've watched several international movies, but it's only Indian movies that are not eligible for coupon redemption.

Oshawa is a toxic location(except the kind greeter)

I am on here because Cineplex doesn't have a complaint email! I went out of my way to Cineplex Oshawa to get all the five nights at freddys merch for my son which had a release date for yesterday at 12am! When I spoke with the employee he said they had it but the manager overheard and refused(with attitude) to sell it to me! My family of 9 will never step in that theatre again! It's said because I always chose this company over Landmark...not anymore!!!

my latest trip to Cineplex turned out…

my latest trip to Cineplex turned out far less enjoyable than i expected . i went with my son for a casual movie night , but few things really took away from the experience
to start with , i tried ordering drinks at their concession stand and it was clear the workers weren't sure what they were doing .Three people hovered around the machine double checking recipe cards and asking what step came next The drink i got for $7 nothing like a proper caramel macchiato - more like hot milk with shot of espresso tossed in as an afterthought
Inside the auditorium the sound level was another problem . The trailers were blasting so loudly that a couple of people near us were visibly uncomfortable . im not sure who complains about volume but this way beyond what feels reasonable and made the start of the movie hard to enjoy.
on top of that when i needed help re-printing my ticket because the app froze i ended up being bounced between multiple employees. no one was rude bit it felt like no one really know who supposed to handle it.
i will say the place was tidy and once the film got going ,things were fine.still,Cineplex should really improve staff training and overall organization.for what we pay nowadays ,the experience shouldn't feel so chaotic.That's why im giving 3 stars -not awful but differently disappointing

WHY Cineplex SHOULDN"T run a Starbucks…

WHY Cineplex SHOULDN"T run a Starbucks in their theatres. !!! :(
I have seen a caramel macchiato made over 1000 times and I was in shock this time to first watch the employee frantically look around for things than ask other employees how to make it checking out the how to cards they have behind the counter and the attempt it and as I watched this poor employee without any training obviously first put in the caramel into the bottom of the cup squeeze away then she steamed the milk then watched as she stirred the steamed milk and the caramel to finish it off she put in the 2 containers of espresso and handed it to me. A bit backwards, and I didn't get that happy caramel taste right off the first sip, but I also don't think I was wrong in saying anything. I paid 7.00 for a Grande, by the way, the cashier told me they don't have that size, only large. Another mistake since they should never refer to a Starbucks beverage size as a LARGE. I did end up drinking my 7.00 steamed milk large drink, but experience wise if you want anything from Starbucks, go to a location other than the ones in a Cineplex, where the training is nonexistent 3 employees behind this counter, and not one of them knew how to make it. If this is the experience across all the Cineplex locations, like the Niagara Falls location, then don't purchase any drinks, just stick to the fountain pop its safer at least the employees don't have to mix or make anything.

WORST MOVIE EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE

Took my kid to see Demon Slayer: Kimetsu No Yaiba. BY FAR !!! the WORST movie experience of my life.

1. I had NO IDEA that 4DX meant the seats would move.. I did NOT like it, and would no9t have bought the tickets if I had known.

2. Ther was NO WARNING that the whole movie was Japanese with Englist subtitles/

3. There are no posters telling me what this movie was, and no people to ask until AFTER I bought the tickets..

3. After paying $65 for the two of us to enter and have popcorn.. They even charged $1.50 extra to add butter to the popcorn.

4. I'm FURIOUS.. what a F**king waste of money

They charge you an extra fee to book tickets online. I'm getting real tired of this nickel and diming crap, it doesn't take any extra effort to book tickets online vs in person. Stop charging us extra fees for just existing.

Cineplex Fat Shames Customers

In June my husband and I went to Cineplex Seton Theatres. Cineplex has a free popcorn refill policy. When I went back to get a refill, the young man behind the counter, who was already surly, responded to my request for a refill by muttering, “Like you need more”.
I attempted to address this at the theatre- no manager ever showed up. I sent an email to Guest Services at the Cineplex email and got the runaround. Their response to me was that they had spoken to the young man, he denied it, and I must have misunderstood. Fat shaming at the theatre- customer service at its shoddiest and a deplorable corporate response.

Overly loud volume

The volume was ridiculously loud, couldn't stay for the rest of the film. I'm talking effective volume was likely over 100 decibels when factoring in the number of speakers. Considering that deaf individuals typically use either hearing aids or captioning devices, this volume makes no sense. This occurred at a Cineplex location in BC.
"An employer must ensure that a worker is not exposed to noise levels above either of the following exposure limits:

(a)85 dBA Lex daily noise exposure level;

(b)140 dBC peak sound level.

[en. B.C. Reg. 382/2004.]" - from BC health and safety website.
If it isn't safe for your staff, it isn't safe for customers either. I will also point out that the volume needs to be measured while a film is playing from inside the theater. This way you know what the effective volume is vs. what it is programmed for. The more speakers the louder something will be.

Bad experience

This is truly embarrassing. I am an Indian assimilated to Canada back in the 90s. Now these new Canadians come to the movies without any hygiene manners. Like come on. You make the whole movies experience terrible for everyone. At this point movie staff should vett these guys as it’s ruining it for everyone let alone adding to the hatred. Cineplex should be refunding everyone when this happens.

My experience with Cineplex

My experience with Cineplex doesn't even deserve to be spoken about, face value great customer experience, but prices of food getting outrageous, 18$ milkshake at the vip big nah!!, also, see why many seats are available and not filled cause overpriced unless do their subscription and follow suit with there partnered companies, such as, banks and etc to reap the benefits, but realistically the subscription has so many barriers, even detours disabled individuals, cause why you got to jump through hoops for resetting phone number just to access your own account, but make it difficultto find the number. I found the number through a bad review like really for a big entertainment company. Every website I've dealt with has links for other options and access, why they don't is they are working with a bank and don't care for customer service, also, to be noted the workers and recruitment of students the not accommodating their schedules unreal, especially during important needs of youth. This what ever trap of a company is a joke and lacks real business ethics and accommodating services.

We have seen many many movies over the…

We have seen many many movies over the past years at Cineplex. The app has been very reliable, easy to order tickets and use your scene. Haven't had any issues adding gift cards, using coupons and now ordering snacks in advance.

Our local Scotiabank Theater is amazing. Love the IMAX 4dx and Dbox. The popcorn and iced tea is always tasty. Prices are fair enough for a theater, highly recommend getting cineclub for the discount on snacks.

Not sure how so many trolls found trustpilot to crap on Cineplex! Super unfair and inaccurate.
