We have sent regular update emails, and we also maintain a dedicated Pre-Order Updates page on our website, which includes the latest shipment information and a record of when update emails were sent. We have also responded to every email we've received as quickly as possible from you.
We pride ourselves on being transparent about our pre-order process. At the time of purchase, the product page explains that pre-orders are subject to shipping timelines and that, once shipments arrive in New Zealand, they must first go through customs clearance, followed by quality control checks before we can begin dispatching orders. These steps are unfortunately outside of our control but are essential to ensure every customer receives the quality they expect.
We completely understand how disappointing delays can be, and we sincerely apologise for the wait. We can assure you that we are a genuine New Zealand small business, and our team is working incredibly hard to dispatch orders as quickly as possible while shipping fairly in purchase date order.
8 month preorder
Have bought from Chinga in the past with no problem bought two hoodies on preorder on December 25th thinking they would be good for the Winter I still don't have them and just checked they are delayed again. They have had my money all that time and no product. Winter will be over before I get them if I ever do is a joke. So despite reply below they have now had my money for 8 months and no hoodies and have emailed and said they are too busy for admin really think.it is a scam

We completely understand how disappointing and frustrating this has been, especially when you were hoping to have your hoodies for winter. Unfortunately, there have been delays outside of our control with our international supplier and shipping, which have impacted the arrival of this collection.
We've already been in touch with you via email with an update, and we're expecting pre-orders to begin arriving soon. As soon as the shipments arrive, our team will work through them as quickly as possible to get orders dispatched.
We take full responsibility for the inconvenience these delays have caused and truly appreciate your patience. Hi Peach as we have already emailed you and explained, you ordered an item that is a pre order, it arrives next month, the dates are mentioned on the product itself. You emailed us FRIDAY 10pm we do not operate at that time, you then sent another email in the weekend, we do not work weekends, Monday was Kings birthday so we were closed. However we did reply you today as it is our first day back at work. Thank you for replying on here and not on email, we did email you first before replying on here. We also offered a solution in the email, pre orders have dates please always read the delivery times we mention on the product bio so it avoids confusion thinking companies are scamming.

Absolutely adore my hoodie. So soft and warm the longer length is great for an oversized hoodie addict like myself. Even though the shipping takes a bit longer than most other places they are a small business so that’s to be expected. Well worth the wait. I wanted a perfect purple hoodie in a certain shade and these guys delivered just that.

I purchased 2 of the 'Basic LS Tees'. It's a super comfy, long hoody with a curved hem (very flattering!) that's perfect for wearing over tights. I love that Chinga is size-inclusive, ranging up to a 3XL. Amazing! I particularly appreciate that this particular hoodie is made from thinner fabric, which is great for me, as I run hot. Love it so much!
The team behind the brand is possibly the best part. My experience in contacting Customer Care with a shipping query was delightful. Genuine people showing their wonderful personalities, which made me feel really valued - not just 'ánother customer'. I will definitely repurchase. The new stock looks awesome!

CHINGA is my go to store for comfort
I bought a hoodie a few years back and fell in love with it but stupidly didn’t buy another and when I needed to get another they didn’t have stock as such of the one I was looking for so I emailed the business and they were above and beyond helpful they had someone check in their warehouse and find me a similar hoodie to match my needs. I ended up finding a little background about the business and the owner sounds like a truly amazing woman who cares and gives back when she can. I love that this business is personalised and I don’t feel like I’m talking to a computer. I thought I’d give their tights a try and oh my god I will never buy another pair of tights again. They are so comfortable yet so supportive.

Apparently my order was delivered and then returned to them so now they are requesting I pay for delivery again. Don't understand this so made an enquiry and because they have a photo of my parcel with the correct delivery address they believe an attempted delivery was made. I have had no issues receiving any other order one made. Be warned

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concern, and we’d like to clarify that the courier is a third-party service, and the delivery process is managed by them independently.
Your parcel was sent to the correct address as provided during checkout, and the courier has confirmed an attempted delivery with photo proof. Unfortunately, when a parcel is returned to us due to a missed delivery or non-collection, a redelivery fee is charged by the courier company—not by us.
We genuinely do our best to ensure smooth deliveries, but we have no control over failed delivery attempts once the parcel has left our hands. A tracking was also sent to you which you were able to track so there was no misleading on our end. We’re happy to assist with arranging redelivery, but the courier fee must be covered as per their policy.
We do understand it’s easy to leave one star reviews for smaller companies but in this case don’t think the one star review should be given to us if the delivery wasn’t done, think the review and issue was courier?
Great experience
The team were quick to help me regarding some damage on one of the dresses I received. They were very professional and took care of my concerns.
From this morning till now, they have already rearranged another dress to be sent out and have been great and fast throughout the process.
I'd highly recommend chinga clothing as I've had nothing but a great experience.

If products require a pre-order, this should be clearly stated along with expected timeframes so customers can make an informed decision before purchasing. I reached out after waiting two and a half weeks with no update, only to be told that several of the items were on pre-order and could take up to 90 days to arrive. They also advised I could pay additional shipping to have the in-stock items sent separately. When I requested a refund, I was told it wasn’t possible because the pre-order had already been placed. I’ve ordered from them several times in the past with no issues, but after this experience, I won’t be returning.

We’ve always made our pre-order process very clear every pre-order item is clearly labelled “PRE-ORDER” in the product title, and the 90-day turnaround time is stated in bold directly beneath the product description, where it says "ADD TO CART"
If this was missed, we would’ve been more than happy to assist had you reached out to us directly and said you overlooked this part. After you purchase a pre order, we don't have any updates for you within 2 weeks as there is nothing to update you about.
Please kindly consider removing or updating your review, as it contains information that is not accurate. If there's anything we can do to assist or resolve your concerns, we are more than happy to help, We also clearly mention on the product page that additional shipping applies when in-stock and pre-order items are purchased together. We kindly ask customers to place these orders separately to avoid delays and disappointment exactly for situations like this.
We communicate this to help manage expectations and avoid misunderstandings that may lead to negative reviews, especially when we've done our best to be transparent from the start. Cancellations on pre-orders are not accepted after 7 days of placing your order. This is because your order will have already been processed and sent to our manufacturers, had you reached out to us earlier a refund can be given. We also emailed you asking you if we couldn't refund you for that item we were happy to offer you another product, yet we did not receive a reply but a one star review instead. totally unfair!

I have been a long time customer and have an array of items in my wardrobe from the hoodies, to the crew neck jumpers, t-shirts and most recently their leggings and I have to say I am a MASSIVE fan!
The quality of their products is incredible, sizing is accurate, and the clothes actually look the same as they are modelled on the website, when they arrive, not to mention incredibly comfortable.
Postage is super fast, and even when they are working during a sale / high demand period, Customer service is second to none, with quick response times, friendly interactions and their team is more than willing to go the extra mile for their customers.
All in all, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND these guys and will absolutely be a returning customer, again and again and again!
