Photo editing - new build PC
The simplicity of the ordering/editing process. Clear communications from staff -when I was called about a build conflict, it was clearly explained, with a very satisfactory solution. The regular updates on progress with the build. The speed of the build, especially when considering that it was not 'off the shelf!' The PC runs like a dream. I can't wait to make the most of it. £7,826 Faulty PC, Weeks of Stress and I Had to Start a Chargeback
My worst customer service experience I have ever encountered is with Chillblast.
I purchased a high-end PC from them for £7,826.71, expecting a premium product and professional service. Instead, the system arrived faulty on 29 January and never worked properly from the day it was delivered.
19 January -PC purchased (£7,826.71)
29 January – PC arrived faulty
30 January - rejected and asked for a refund
(attempted to get me to sign off on repair emails which I rejected as no consumer should have to get a new PC repaired)
After reporting the issue, the system had to be collected and sent to their repair partner MendIT. The PC was finally collected on 15 February, and MendIT later confirmed that the unit was indeed faulty.
At that point I expected the refund process to be straightforward. Instead, the entire experience became a frustrating cycle of chasing Chillblast for updates.
I repeatedly called customer service and was told that someone would “email me with an update.” Those emails often never arrived, and days would pass with no communication until I had to contact them again myself. This happened multiple times throughout the process.
For a company selling systems worth several thousand pounds, the lack of communication and basic customer care was shocking. At no point did anyone show genuine sympathy for the situation or the inconvenience this caused.
Because the PC never worked, I was forced to travel into the office every day instead of working from home, and I had to pay additional childcare costs as a direct result.
Eventually I was told the refund had been approved and passed to the accounts team, yet the money still did not arrive. After waiting far longer than should be necessary for a confirmed faulty product, I had no choice but to initiate a chargeback with my bank, just to recover my money.
No customer should have to go through weeks of stress, repeated chasing, and bank disputes simply to receive a refund for a faulty product.
The product failed from day one, communication was poor throughout, and the refund process is still unnecessarily slow and stressful.
If you read the 1 star reviews, you can see people having similar experiences to me.
I've had to use legal terminology with the company like my right to reject under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 to ensure a refund not repair is actioned.
Key points to note:
I still have the email confirmation stating the refund had been approved but no refund given.
It does seem like Chillblast likes to hold onto people's money (see other 1 star reviews) not refunding multiple customers helps the company a few ways financially. If they miss the refund window with you best to start a chargeback even if you paid via debit card you can do this (normally companies will refund your money quicker because they do not want to get bad credit ratings from chargebacks).
One more thing I should mention, The 5090 grafix card cable was loose! I wanted Lian Li fans they didn't have them so they pushed other ones on me, (the guy reccomending this was helping multiple people, he has 5 chats open while we were on the phone and I had to repeat myself multiple times, he would forget things like the size of the fans how many I needed, that should have been a warning to me on how unprofessional the company is) we settled with Corsair fans, I wanted them icue enabled but one of the fans was just plugged into the motherboard. I only noticed because when the pc would power up for a few seconds only one fan lighted up and I was told afterwards that the fan would not be controlled by icue and to download another software to control it... Honestly how stupid and annoying is that?
They are also supposed to test the pc but if it isn't switching on more then a few seconds that means they skipped the testing and also likely didn't update the bios (which for certain motherboards is big concern with a Ryzen x3D CPU)
I have sent my bank all the evidence, if Chillblast actually refund me before the bank, I'll come back and update.
Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend thinking very carefully before purchasing from Chillblast
Go with PC Specialist, they offer great value and the customer service is unbelievably good, call them to talk about your build, try their whatsapp service and ask questions. They also have to update you and ask you if they can replace certain things (normally free upgrades) and send you details and pictures during the process so you can ask for any changes if you don't like anything.
With Chillblast I had to chase them a few times as they took ages to deliver, ages to pick up the PC, ages to confirm the issue and now forever to refund me. Sadly, no one reached out to apologise. (Except MendIT who investigated the PC two employees there were really nice and sympathetic)

the service was first class i ordered my computer on the monday and received it on the thursday. the pricing is competitive and the five year guarantee is fantastic.
Good company to deal with
Good company to deal with , have used them before and had no hesitation in going back to them for my latest purchase . One small black mark was I felt that I was mis led on delivery expectations , when I ordered was told delivered in 1-2 weeks . On the 12th day I received an email to say the machine had been dispatched . After 14 days I rang to see where my purchase was and was told it had not been dispatched and would have to wait another 5 days !
Was frustrating but all in all I would recommend them .

So far, couldn’t be happier. Honestly I would struggle to beat the price I paid for the PC, if I was building it myself.
No bugs or issues found so far (touchwood) although I’m comforted by the warranty provided.
Also delivery was super quick, next day I believe.

The experience and convienece of buying the pc from Chillblast was great. I love the PC, used mostly quality parts and im very happy with the value offered in the current market.
One big issue i had:
The RAM would not go into EXPO mode and was locked at the underclocked rate...the BIOS was way out of date and took alot of effort to force it to update to allow me to sort the RAM out and get it to the advertised MT's. I called Chillblast to report this / ask for assistance and was told someone will call me ASAP...no one ever did call me.
Im happy with the computer, but they let them selfs down a bit. I worry for customers who either dont notice the RAM is running slow or they dont have the technical knowledge to fix it.
Started out great… but
Started out great. Good website, easy to order well priced. Called to check stock, confirmed and next day also sorted.
When the PC arrived it diddnt work. No power, nothing. After several calls and sending images, the only option they had was to return it. Disappointing, but things happen. Assured it was an in and out in a day job as they were quiet. This is where things deteriorated, almost immediately. First, they lied saying that it arrived at the end of the day on Friday so they didn’t have time to look at it. Tracking proved it arrived early morning. They then assured it would be done first thing Monday morning. Checked Monday lunch, they hadn’t looked yet but assured it would be done that day.. it wasn’t . Each time they say they will call back but never do, I’m left chasing each day and get told something different. In the end, we’re on Wednesday, 3 1/2 days after having revived the PC back and I tell them I’m not prepared to wait for them to check that the power doesn’t turn on any longer (a 3 second job…) and they either send a replacement on a same day courier or I get my money back. They say they will call back (waiting for a manager to come out of a meeting and call me) , they don’t so I chase a get told by someone else that the manager is off sick today (another lie). By this time they are now telling me that the PC is packed and ready to ship and will be with me Friday. I clearly state that it needs to immediately come off the pallet for collection as I want it Thursday or not so all. Again, assure they will call back but as per usual, they don’t so I ask for a refund. They then tell me that it’s already gone, they cannot cancel and if I want a refund, I’ll have to wait for it to get returned and then upto 14 days to actually receive th money. The fact he then says “it’s faster to just accept the pc” shows that they only care about 1 thing. What follows is 24 hours of emails saying it’s cancelled, now it’s not and will be with you tomorrow , now it is cancelled but might not be, now it’s not and will be with you tomorrow and then on the day of delivery, actually sorry, it’s on its way back to us . A complete shambles. It’s been almost 6 weeks since spending over £2k on a PC that never worked and only now, do I actually receive my money back.
By the end, I lost all respect for this company. Dishonest people on the phone. Poor organisation and a total lack of professionalism. Had we actually received the replacement PC, I think I would have still returned it as based on our experience, they don’t give 2 s**ts about you once they have your money.
We are also 5 week from our complaints being sent to them and have received 0 responses or acknowledgment.

The website was easy to use, I was able to configure the device to my individual needs and price was good. The build and delivery timeframe could not have been any quicker. Very well packaged with clear instructions to safe first fire up.

Chillblast Sent A Shiver Down My Spine
The custom build components were my own choice and selected after careful research the PC was built and dispatched 2 weeks ahead of schedule. This sort of speed would impress most people who have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, the reality is very different. This company specialises in industry simulators so why is it dealing with desktop computers for the public under the name of another company (CCL). Chillblast is not very good at dealing with the public and do not supply everything they should as part of a new PC, £2,000 is a lot of money but we don't get the feel good factor of money well spent when they fail to supply correct support and insist on charging you £200 to return the goods. They are not a good company to deal with hence their need to hide behind another company CCL. my advice is to avoid them and let them sit back and twiddle their thumbs waiting for orders to build more simulators.
