Hi Jeffrey and thank you for your review! You can see your answer and compare it to the correct answer (with explanation) in "Study Mode". When you launch your working session just click the radio button in front of Study Mode and that will be enabled. Additionally, at the end of a practice session, you can click on the "Incorrectly Answered Questions" report and you will have a list of all the questions you answered incorrectly with the correct answer pointed out as well as an explanation. We hope this helps and best of luck on exam day!

Certblaster is NOT one of the more robust training and testing solutions. I recommend to look somewhere else such as CompTIA's training and practice tests.

Hi Efird, we are sorry you didn't like it. It's important to note that when taking the actual exam you should not expect to see CertBlaster questions verbatim as that would, on our part, constitute giving away the actual exam which, of course, is illegal. What we do is provide direction by offering questions dialed into the exam objectives. The individuals that are successful at the exam, using CertBlaster, spend considerable time digesting the content, developing a depth of understanding that allows them to comprehend the correlation between our content and the concepts addressed by the exam questions. As the authoritative GoCertify.com site stated “CertBlaster offers some of the more robust training packages out there and is ready to help you dial in on two of the more popular credentials available. The Network+ and Security+ credentials offered by CompTIA.”

Looks good

Looks good. I feel that some of the questions need a little bit better explanations than what they have. Some of the questions are also duplicated. It does give you a little bit of an idea of that the real exam will be like, so not only does it help to test you on what you do and don't know it can also help you to understand how the questions on the real exam will be asked and gives you a better idea of how to answer them. I think that I would have liked to see some more kinds of questions, and the duplicated questions are pointless. I have only done the part for the 1001 so far and it only has two simulations, I am hopping the second part has more. Still, I think I would recommend you use this along with some other study material such as testout.com when studying for the A+.

CompTIA Security + SYO-501 Exam

I used the CertBlaster Simulation training to prepare for my Security + Cert Exam. I failed the exam. The material does not come close to anything on the test...I believe I saw maybe a handful on the actual exam that was from the training.

I barely passed A+ 220-1001 exam so I…

I barely passed the A+ 220-1001 exam so I thought I would sign up with another exam testing facility to better prepare for the 220-1002 exam and decided to sign up with CertBlaster. I'm finding too many problems with this to make me feel like this is going to adequately prepare me for the exam. First there is very little emphasis on Windows 10, most of the Windows based questions are based on Windows 7 & 8. I'm also finding some questions that are incorrect:
Exam 1 Question 21: What is the command to remove a directory in Windows? The choices: MD, CD, RD, None of these
CertBlaster says none of these, but at a Windows command line running RD /? yields:
C:\Users\Owner>rd /?
Removes (deletes) a directory.
/S Removes all directories and files in the specified directory in addition to the directory itself. Used to remove a directory tree.

Then in exam 4, question 20: In the Command Prompt windows, which command would you use to remove an empty directory?
MD, CD, RD, DEL CertBlaster's answer is RD
In exam 1 Question 21 RD is not the correct answer, but in this question it is.
Exam 4, Question 35 - What Windows 8.1 utility can be used to create user accounts? Answer: User Accounts.
I don't have a computer with Windows 8.1 on it so I Googled the question and couldn't find out how to do this in Windows 8.1 using User Accounts. There were other ways shown, but none using User Accounts. In Windows 10, User Accounts from the Control Panel does not have an option to add users. Again, there are other paths to follow to add a user: Right click on Start then click on Settings > Accounts > Family and Other Users, from there a user can be added.
I'll go a little further with CertBlaster but I have little confidence that this exam prep is going to help, so I'll be going back to Total Sims and some others I signed up with to continue with my studying. In the mean time I will be seeking a refund from CertBlaster

Hi 12AX7, we understand that with exam prep comes anxiety. That could explain why you missed some important aspects of the questions you are listing here.
For question 21 the folder is not empty, so RD would fail. RD /S would work but that is not offered as an option in the question. All CompTIA exams work on the basis of selecting the "Best Answer" i.e. the best among the offered alternatives.
For E4 Q 20 question is correct because, in this question, the folder is empty.

Overpriced and poorly made.

Overpriced and poorly made.
Some of the simulations don't work.
There is one question that the "answer" is just simply incorrect - it states that a laptop charging port is a 12v jack, it's not! it's a 19.5v jack.

Hi Nick, we are sorry you did not like it! When you say "poorly made" could you share some specifics?

Here is the update on the "wrong" answer claim:

We looked into the question you are referencing and our answer is actually correct. All laptops use proprietary manufacturer-specific adapters and connectors for power. These are different from brand to brand and even models within a brand. This prevents improper connections and misapplied voltages.
The power supplied to a laptop from its power adapter is specific to that make and model only.
The questions in our products, and on the test, require you to deduce which is the BEST answer based on the information provided. We looked at the 12V question you referenced and given the other answer options, 12V is correct. Now, this reflects not only the letter but also the spirit of the CompTIA exams where “BEST answer" Questions based on context and available distractors which are a common and recognized feature of all CompTIA exams.

I like that you have a person speaking his views, but I think the person teaching could show more fun way, instead of putting people to sleep with the same monolog voice. It is hard listening to someone and trying to install the information into your brain, when you feel like it is more of a chore than a learning experience.

Certblaster is a great resource for taking the Security+ exam

Certblaster helped me concentrate on areas of the CompTIA Secuirty+ exam that I needed more focus and the scenario based questions are inline with the exam. I did not have any IT knowledge going into the exam with the exception of some cyber security training in the Navy so I was nervous going into the exam but after a couple weeks of using Certblaster I was confident I was ready. Let me caveat this by saying I didn't pass, but taking the exam for the first time and with very little network/IT experience I came very close, I have no doubt I'll pass on the retest. It's a great resource and worth the investment if you need help passing Security+

Thanks for sharing, Mobolaji! We do understand your feeling of some parts being outdated but that is in great part because CompTIA includes in their exam objectives legacy equipment. As an example, in A+ 220-1002 exam sub-objective 1.2 - “Compare and contrast features of Microsoft Windows versions” you will find that both Windows 7 and Windows 8 (and 8.1) are included and so can become questions at the eaxm. This is just one example of many. These are items CertBlaster must include or fail to do its job. The reason CompTIA includes older systems (and some older hardware) is that in the field, every so often, the support technician will face things we all would have believed belonged to a distant past.
