Before you even consider instructing CDS Mayfair, read this twice — carefully:
My experience relates specifically to working with Elena Tsirlina, who is the Head of the Immigration Department at CDS Mayfair.
I paid more than £85,000 in legal fees for services connected with my immigration and human rights matters. My subsequent complaint resulted in a final decision by the Legal Ombudsman, which awarded me £50,000, the maximum available remedy.
The issues I raised included the handling of an application to the European Court of Human Rights, documents submitted to the court in my name which I dispute having authorised, and the disclosure of highly sensitive personal information concerning my family and my minor children.
In its final decision, the Legal Ombudsman recognised the seriousness of the consequences for my family, including the severe psychological impact on my children.
Based on my experience, I strongly encourage any potential clients considering instructing Elena Tsirlina or CDS Mayfair to carry out very careful due diligence before doing so.
Potential clients may also wish to review regulatory findings concerning CDS Mayfair, including disciplinary action reported in the legal press in August 2023, when the firm was fined more than £23,000 following findings linked to Solicitors Regulation Authority compliance requirements.
