Care helpline was a godsend!
Your colleague Bryony on the help line was super supportive when we felt overwhelmed by finding a nursing home to support our 83 year old mum’s needs. The shortlist of 7 homes was so helpful and within days we had looked around and chosen Winscombe Hall. Mum is now settling in and we are very pleased so far. Thank you for making the process so much more manageable!

Brilliant service
The lady who telephoned me was extremely helpful and guided through everything I needed to know/do and info I needed to provide very clearly and I knew exactly what was happening throughout.
Information was also emailed to me with follow ups to check how everything was progressing.
The lovely lady even contacted care homes on my behalf and did a lot of legwork for me. This was extremely helpful during a stressful time especially when I work full time.
Unfortunately my dad passed sooner than expected so we never got him settled in a care home.
But I highly recommend people use this service as it was massively helpful for me.

My opinion on the lack of transparency and balanced feedback
In my opinion, this platform seems to apply an uneven level of scrutiny to reviews. From what I have observed, genuine negative feedback based on lived experience appears to be heavily vetted, while "perfect" positive reviews, which I find questionable, seem to be accepted without the same level of vetting.
Based on my own interactions and conversations with other users, it is my belief that the site favours the corporate image of the care homes over the honest experiences of the families using them. I feel that legitimate concerns are often discredited or labeled as "disgruntled" rather than being viewed as the valuable learning tools they should be. Consequently, I have personally lost trust in this website as a reliable or balanced reflection of care services.

Very poor website for applying for…
Very poor website for applying for jobs. It kept asking for more personal information before I even got to the application, then lost my whole 10 minutes work when I scrolled back to check some details. I still do not know, in spite of a vague message, if my application actually reached the care home I applied to. No email from Carehome and no email from the advertising care home.

I made contact whilst trying to navigate the mind field of researching dementia care for my father. I spoke to Kerry who was extremely helpful and within a very short time provided me with a shortlist of care homes within the requirements I had specified. My Mum went into Castle Brook in December 2024 as she was struggling by herself and I was finding it more and moe diffcult to keep her going from a distance, she found keeping the house going and just feeding here self was too much and health deteriating. I placed her in for 14 day break while I took a holiday and she did not want to come out, loved it. totally new life, lovely staff that she has made friends with, eating good home cooked food her heath bounded back and it has taken all the pressure off me. She walks everyday in the garden and in warmer weather in the woods opposite, she visits Kenilworth regualrly as taxi is cheap as very close. Staff are her favourite, they genuinely care for all the people, in fact I have got to know quite a few of them now. I have been amazed about mums turn around and how they make all efforts for residents to lead as independant lives as they can, and yet if not well there to hold her hand and just chat. They take her on trips, has a mini cinema with a BIG DVD collection, they go to town in holidays like Christmas, Easter, hallowean is really funny. Could not recommened Castle Brook enough.
