SHAMEFUL SERVICE!!!!

SHAMEFUL SERVICE!!!!! I had a dispute with a subscription that I had cancelled and they started rebilling me 6 months later. 3 charges went through even with a BLOCK from C1 on the vendor. I was forced to close the C1 account as a result of them not blocking the vendor. They credited me only 2 of the 3 charges and charged me a late fee since I was waiting for the 3rd. charge to be credited (that's the only balance I had on the account). Now they are telling me that because I closed the account they won't credit the late fee or the 3rd. merchant credit. I am furious!! They are Thieves!! I will never have a Capital One account again! Horrible way to treat a great customer.

Capital One Quicksilver negative issues

I contacted Capital One Quicksilver account services to discuss payment arrangements for my account that was fraudulently accessed and compromised. The fraudulent person(s) emptied ALL of my checking, savings, maxed out credit cards, opened new accounts, etc. I've filed a police report, fraud activity with Wells Fargo (my acct), Social Security, and all three major credit reporting agencies. I asked Capital One Quicksilver assistance and they stated nothing they can do. So I cancelled my card. This is not a trustworthy, helpful company with the handling of these issues. DO NOT USE!!

I was recently redirected to Capital…

I was recently redirected to Capital One I had a discovery card 0% interest for 24 months once the hostile takeover occurred my 0% interest disappeared and a 22% interest started it is a classic bait and switch I have not been charged any interest as of yet the predatory nature of this transition is forcing my hand to cancel the account pay it off and move on I do not recommend Capital One for anyone on the credit cards if that is their way of doing business thank you for attention in this matter

They changed to the Discover network

They changed to the Discover network, so BEWARE YOUR CREDIT CARD WILL NOT WORK OUTSIDE THE USA. I live part time over seas and this has been a BIG PROBLEM. If you are traveling internationally, bring another card----best if its Visa or Mastercard. Since the change to Discover, I have now gone with the Wells Fargo Autograph Card and the Chase Sapphire Preferred (both of these cards have no foreign transaction fees and the Wells Fargo has no yearly fees)

Discover and now Crapital One

Previously Discover and now Crapital One. (Not misspelled) Had Discover 10+years and always offered 0% for 15 months in current balance or balance transfers. Crapital One …NOTHING. That’s the least they can do for new customers. After talking to Crapital One looks like I will go with another card and do a balance transfer tat offers way more than Crapital One. They will lose a lot of transferred accounts I am sure.

Absolutely abysmal

Absolutely abysmal. Every other week my card has a fraudulent charge. Often before I've even received the new card. Capital One will charge you a huge fine if you are a second late with payment yet they are allowed to be so reckless with our finances.

Totally ridiculous security process to correct my phone number that YOU GUYS apparently pulled up off an antique data base from 10 years ago when I still lived with my parents. If I need to load my ID on your secure link how about sending me a link that actually works, instead of spinning the loading symbol for over 2 HOURS!!!!

Capital One-Never Again!

8/28/26-With the transition of Capital One taking over Discover, there was a lack of information given to customers. From my experience, when I tried to change a second card picture that use to be horses and received a generic card, I was told they did not have access to that picture, so I did the prompts to only change one card to an eagle and it changed both cards; I was on the phone with customer service and she said she could not change it. Then I asked to speak to a supervisor, I was on hold and never spoke to a supervisor. Just the person telling me they could not do anything about it even though I told her an error appeared when I finished. Asked her to verify because I saw a note appear after the error that both cards were changed, even though I only selected one card to be changed. So their only resolution was for me to accept what their system did wrong and live with it. Not acceptable!!! They lost my business. I have never liked Capital One because of comments I heard and read from other people who had accounts with them. They may be great at producing commercials, but from the people ratings, not people they pay to make it look like they have great ratings; real people do not like the way they are treated. I was going to give them a chance since Discover turned over my account to them, but after this no way. This is not customer service and not taking accountability for their error created by their system. Someone should have tested the system before putting it on-line, plus they are making customers make the changes-their customer service will not do it. All they could say is: "I'm sorry" Sorry means nothing when there is no action to correct the error they created! Customers, read reviews for Capital One-I'm not the only person being treated like this. Mine may of been minor, but also their card rates are TOO HIGH and not willing to lower for customers!!!

stay far away from them

received my card in the mail just for them to lock my account and requested documents to unlock it. i submitted those documents and they said it would take 1-10 days to review. it wasn’t until the 10th day when i called to find out what was happening that they told me they didn’t accept the documents. they did not once reach out to me. this happened multiple times of them asking me for documents and sent them all i needed to send and then would find out on the 10th day. throughout the whole process every time i called there was horrible customer service. every time i sent these documents they always needed more. i had my card for about a month without it being activated until i just cancelled it all together. do not get one of these. scammers

My discover account was switched

My discover account was switched, I had a payment plan that fit my income. It was on the 24th of each month, but when they went to Capitol One, they decided to switch it to the 2nd of the month. I called to hoping to have it switched but was told they couldn't do that. It's there account, I don't understand why they couldn't. All the letters that were sent about the switch stated nothing would change in payment arrangements, but as usual they do not stand by what they tell.
This isn't the only experience I have had with Capitol one either, my husbands account was treated the same way. This company is very bad on customer relations, and does not stand behind what they tell you. This company needs to be abolished!!

Pissed

These have got to be the most incompetent idiots that I have ever dealt with. They send me through a world wind of misinformation just to update my new last name. What is the use of a w9 that doesn’t state my new name? Then I receive an email after I spoke with them today saying my new card is on the way. Well I know I wasn’t able to change my last name for a new card to be sent so what is this? Well the idiot I spoke to took it upon himself to report my card lost/stolen and it shut my card down. How incompetent can you be? Then they give a half a**ed “I’m sorry”. Been with cap one for years but it is now time to part ways.

My husband passed way and due to loss…

My husband passed way and due to loss of family income, I reached out to Capital One for options. There was no settlement option, and there was no option to take away or reduce the interest, nor any payment plan changes given. When accounts are paid off, I’ll never use Capital One again. Completely heartless and cold.

Capital One - worst customer service

Capital One flagged my account for "suspicious activity" and froze it. It's been over three weeks with no reinstatement. They're demanding personal documents to verify my identity, but won't even let me confirm basic account details like my own account number in the meantime.

I've had no clear timeline, no real explanation of what triggered the flag, and no way to escalate to someone who can actually resolve it. For a company handling people's finances, this level of unresponsiveness is unacceptable. If you're considering a Capital One card, know that if they ever flag your account, you could be locked out of your own money for weeks with little recourse.

Customers Beware

Several years ago, Capital One was actually a great place to bank. Now? It's horrible. No regard for customer service at all. I initiated a wire transfer at 3:24pm EST. The confirmation says if it's past 2pm EST "it may transfer tomorrow". Well, 24 hours later and my funds are nowhere to be seen. Called Capital One twice and both times, I'm told it could be until 6:45pm tonight before the funds actually are received. When I questioned that, I was told it's in the terms and conditions and that I should have read them. Granted, yes I should have but at the same time - who reads every line of terms and conditions? That very relevant information should be posted front and center on their wire page, not buried in some fine print somewhere.
Additional, I asked for a refund of the $30 fee and was told "we're in good shape for your wire to go through by 6:45 pm so we will not refund you". We are not in good shape because businesses close at 5pm, so the purpose of getting this money to a business before closing is a moot point now.
Every dealing I have with them turns into a fiasco and has consequences beyond just bad service.
I will never recommend them, NOR will I recommend their airport lounges. Definitely beware of those as they will only allow the card member in, not authorized signers. So if you are the main cardholder and want to go in their lounge before a flight with your spouse, who is an authorized signer, you have to pay for them. How is that good customer service? How does that make someone want to keep their business at Capital One?
We will be moving our entire relationship from Capital One to another entity after this boondoggle.
