Won’t accept a / in the free text for donations
I made a donation on line from my account to a well known charity. The system found the charity, top of the list. I had to change / to . in the date reference I added because the software does not accept / as a symbol in the free text box. This caused an initial rejection of my transfer but I guessed correctly what was causing this rejection. Thanks, Stephen.

I've been a member of the CAF for over…
I've been a member of the CAF for over 20 years. It's an easy win. A Diect Debit goes out of my current account every month to my CAF account and "presto", they claim back the tax ive paid out on the amount and add it to my balance. Im then free to choose from a myriad of charities to donate to. I would recommend CAF to any tax payer who gives to charities worldwide. It simplifies things so much.

Great way to give money for UK taxpayers
This is the easiest way to give to registered charities. Gift aid automatically included. And makes admin super easy for higher rate taxpayers
I don't object too much to the 4% fee but thought it could be a bit lower
Most bad reviews are for CAF Bank - just ignore these if all you are doing is giving. I suspect the rating is 4.5+ for donations only

I have had a CAF account for years
I have had a CAF account for years, its what I use for (almost ) all my charitable giving. It is straightforward for me to keep an eye on my account, knowing that a Gift Aid claim has been made on my behalf. And it is straightforward for me to make a donation to the charity I wish to support, including the choir I sing with, as well as local and national charities.
