Rental management companies helping to make living unaffordable!

The Springs Apartments, Saratoga Springs, NY. Managed by Burns Management:

Nice apartments, great location, however nothing luxury about them as the word is used very loosely and way too often. Too few kitchen cabinets, poor lighting, darker floors and counters, little storage space, no ceiling fans, no pool, luxury - not!

For the first lease renewal, we signed an 18 month lease, for the 2nd undecided, as they like to give huge increases each renewal, stating this is the "Market Valuation Rate" translated means we are screwing you over. The increase varies according to how many month you choose, the minimal increase was $382 per month, almost 20% increase.

Yes, $382 a month. It does not matter if you pay your rent on time, how long you have lived here, if your place looks the way it does when you moved in. All the matters is $$$$. We were also advised we are getting under the market rate of $2500-$2600 per month. Yet, the a/c for our 2nd floor unit is vastly undersized, so decide if you want huge energy bills, or to suffer for many days and nights in the heat.

This is with our apt unit not having sun on it all day long. The walls are very thin and under insulated for sound, so we get the joy of hearing our neighbor stomping around like Godzilla, with a baby crying to boot.

Over all still great location, along with most neighbors being the best. You decide. You may get a lower rate coming in for your first lease, but they will get you good!

Update: Rental Management Company will say call us to discuss. Our response is: We did reach out to you, and we were told there was nothing you could do for pricing regarding the increase, that current prices are a lot higher vs our increase. You chose to ignore what we wrote, and to put your spin on things. People who see the reviews will see through that. We never said we love our overpriced apartment, just that it is a great location.
