Buildstore guided us through the complete house-build financing process from start to finish. They were on hand to offer any help and advice we needed, and we couldn't have gone through this journey without their help! Many thanks to the whole Buildstore team!

What an absolute waste of space. I took out a mortgage with Chorley BS, but unfortunately I had to deal with build loan for stage releases. The portal is a waste of space, when you can access it. Questions make no sense and very poor English. They ask you to sign docs but you end up chasing your tail trying to find something to sign only to end up where you started. Such a waste of time and mortgage companies should look else where. AVOID BUILD LOAN and BUILD STORE (same company)

Pretty straight for the vast majority of process over the last 3 years. Slight challenges when you build out of the "traditional" sequence. ie fitting a kitchen and doors before you finished plaster boarding the whole house.

My son was at the bottom of a buyer chain in which BuildLoan was providing financing. The pressure was intense, because we were racing to complete the purchase before the Stamp Duty deadline of the 31st March. If it didn’t complete within that timeline then my son would have been unable to buy the house of his dreams. Michael Cartwright of BuildLoan was a total breath of fresh air. He was responsive, professional and honest. He kept us appraised of progress at all times - which kept us sane during a very stressful period. It’s clear that he cares deeply about the people who he deals with and that is a sign of excellent customer service. Buying a house for the first time is one of life’s biggest decisions. It’s a time when you need someone like Michael on your side. A huge thank you for helping us to wrestle our purchase over the line.

Great service by Buildloan, its a really useful way to get a mortgage on a property conventional mortgages wont touch. Great communication and easy customer portal, I dealt mostly with Tommy Walker who was great but everyone else I spoke with seemed very helpful.

Our self build would simply not have even started without the fantastic services of the BuildStore Team. From our initial meeting with Tom Sherry at the NSBRC, who put everything in a very considered and straightforward approach, which gave us huge confidence that 'we could actually do this'... to then moving onto Shaun Smith who gave an equally personal approach, breaking down the process into friendly,  non-jagoned details on what we should do and when we need to do it . As first time buyers and self-builders we have been guided through every step of the process by Shaun as our application wasn’t straightforward who has been at the end of a phone call every time we have needed him. I would recommend visiting the NSBRC in Swindon where we attended a very informative talk by Tom Sherry and they also offer a membership to the NSBRC with a discount off of the mortgage fees.

Very happy about the level of support provided. Meanwhile, we have a formal mortgage offer. Our situation, being here on a visa, and wanting to do a true self build in Scotland is not the most common case, and Buildstore managed this brilliantly, with confidence and patience.

Buildstore were responsive and easy to deal with. Stuart was very helpful throughout the process. Would highly recommend to others entering into the self-build process.
