Could not fault this Company. Tried Amigo, desperately poor service (30mins hold queues, pedantic details, etc). Tried Buddy Loans, they were lightening fast, courteous, patient, didn't have major c... See more

I applied for a loan

I applied for a loan and they said I needed to boost my credit score so they did a deposit on the go in my bank account and asked that I withdraw the funds and pay them back. So that is what I did...Steve walked me thru buying bit coin to pay back. So the next day they called again and wanted to do it again and deposited another 1000 in my bank account only this time they wanted me to buy apple cards to pay them back. That was the red flag for me and I refused to do it. The deposits that they put in my account all came back as counterfeit. I lost 1000 bucks and I hope by making people aware it won't happen to you...thankyou...

Scammers who spam

Buddy loan is a total scam. They steal your information and sell it to third parties. I asked them to delete my account multiple times via email and they didn’t even responded. I suspect this is a banglore based loan scam.

DO not trust them, even if they seem legit. If a company resorts to such activities, they should not be trusted with. Other positive reviews are more than likely fake ones to pump up the rating.

One star is far far too much-just like…

One star is far far too much-just like the amount of interest you charge!
You mis sold thousands of loans to customers who can’t afford to repay them, having huge financial stresses, you have not done in depth checks or credit searches! If you did you would have seen my credit rating was 97 at the time I applied and my guarantors was only 352 (very poor). You have had over £4,000 in interest alone, plus the £7,500 I borrowed which was for mobility equipment. You didn’t even take into account that I was disabled and unable to work with a family and a spouse who is my full time carer.
You have now gone into administration probably pocketing everyone’s money, and have no funds to repay us who were mis sold loans! But your staff are still happy to threaten us with defaults and charges is we don’t pay! I’ve sought legal advice and have now stopped payments because I had to put my bills and debts on a DMP and couldn’t afford to live!

Please do not use this company! !

Please do not use this company!
I can honestly say no matter how much you feel as though you need the extra support with finances, please do not approach buddy loans. There is always other ways.

They state in their adverts / letters / advice that if you need financial help or you cannot pay that they are there to help. They are not. They are uncooperative and will not offer any other solutions apart from you having to go into mass arrears and result in defaults.

I discussed my current circumstances with them (I was on SMP) and all I asked was to either reduce the monthly amount or extend the time of the loan because my circumstances would be back to normal once returned to work. They did not want to know. They would prefer to build up arrears and harass you and your guarantor constantly, even though I repeatedly said, my circumstances would be better once back at work.

They add things to your account without then making you aware at the time, so then when you attempt to resolve any issues, they have piled up.

Please please please do not use this company!

Having submitted a complaint in regards…

Having submitted a complaint in regards to late payment holiday processing due to ‘staffing issues’ they continued to harass myself and my guarantor for payment, despite a holiday being agreed. Having gone into administration the ombudsmen have dismissed my complaint as they do not handle complaints against companies in administration. Buddy Loans will receive no payment until my complaint has been resolved. The sooner this firm liquidates the better. An absolute cowboy company.

Strung along until their last breathe.

Strung along until their last breathe.

Like many others confirmed on 12th of August accepting a complaints payout of £1680.00. Confirmed on the 13th I would receive in 28 days which was immediately suspicious to the claims company who had helped me receive this as they usually paid within 7 days. Two, three weeks pass, having emailed and called in between and they said it will be honoured as per the 28 days stated. Calling and line saying closed even though it was within the normal working hours, website not accessible as it used to be. Claims company telling me this feels like they are in financial trouble two weeks in to waiting, calling Saturday, yesterday, still telling we will contact finance team, Mollie in complaints not around, no longer responding to claims company or taking calls. Low and behold even today told by Kerry, I will try finance team now, phone cuts out. Call back different women, we are announcing our administration we will email you today. JOKE. Disgusting and no thought to customer welfare

It appears they are going into…

It appears they are going into administration hence no redress payments are being made or new loans.

I accepted a settlement offer on 5 August and waited until 28 days had passed yet nobody could provide an update.

I spoke to them this morning and they advised I would not be receiving the redress payment and that I should receive a letter informing me of the situation by email today.

All signs lead to administration!

Agreed a redress payment of £946

Agreed a redress payment of £946. Was told I would receive the payment within 28 days. shock horror, no redress payment, not reply to emails and no response from “senior management” they don’t have the moral decency to reply to anything. Customer services fob you off! Constant delay tactics, “can’t contact said department or waiting for finance department ect ect blah blah blah. The usual S**t. they are quick enough to take your money but not so quick to pay it back. Looks like I’ll be spending £50 to get my money back through bailiffs and the high court. Absolute cowboys. Fingers crossed channel 5 take up the opportunity to film them for the new series of can’t pay take it away

Please do not borrow from these cowboys…

Please do not borrow from these cowboys all they care about is lending money to stay afloat themselves the amount of complaints they have received. After many reviews and forums and currently experiencing it myself they take until the very last day to give you a redress figure and then no doubt will take the full 28 days to pay it out. Don’t think they know people are hard done by money wise with the covid situation or probably don’t care. STAY AWAY AND GO ELSEWHERE.
