Premium hardware ruined by software decisions
Extremely disappointed with the way Bose handled the SoundTouch ecosystem.
I invested in four SoundTouch 10 speakers and one SoundTouch 300 soundbar specifically because Bose marketed them as premium standalone smart audio products with direct internet streaming, TuneIn integration, presets and independence from smartphones.
Today, despite the hardware still working perfectly, many core features have been degraded or effectively removed. Presets are unreliable or unusable, internet radio functionality has been heavily impacted, and the “solution” proposed is basically to stream everything from a phone via Bluetooth or AirPlay.
That completely defeats the original purpose of the SoundTouch ecosystem.
If I had wanted simple Bluetooth speakers dependent on a smartphone, I would never have spent this amount of money on Bose products.
What makes this especially frustrating is that the products themselves are not broken. The functionality loss comes from software, cloud and ecosystem decisions that customers have no control over.
For a premium brand, this creates a very poor sense of trust and long-term reliability. Customers invest in ecosystems expecting durability not only of hardware, but also of the core experience that was advertised and sold.
Very disappointing experience.
Bose soundtouch
NEVER by Bose products please.
I used to love Bose sound and I wanted them over SONOS and others but I wish I had never invested.
I spent over £2000 on products which to all intense and purposes are now useless as Bose have removed the ability and support to have pre-set radio channels on them and have to go through a clunky process of Bluetooth my device to the speaker. Useless!!
If I could have given them 0 I would definitely have!!!
Bose SoundTouch
Bose SoundTouch — Thanks for Nothing
As a loyal Bose customer for many years, I invested heavily in the SoundTouch ecosystem — only to have Bose pull the rug out from under me by shutting down their cloud services. The result? My preset buttons no longer work, and my devices are now little more than expensive paperweights.
Bose made a deliberate decision to abandon paying customers who trusted their brand. No meaningful warning, no refund, no path forward — just silence while our hardware became useless. This is not how you treat loyal customers.
I'll be throwing all of my Bose SoundTouch devices away. I won't be replacing them with Bose products. This experience has taught me a valuable lesson about investing in technology that depends on a manufacturer's cloud infrastructure — and about companies that don't stand behind their products.
To anyone considering Bose: think carefully before committing to their ecosystem. From a once-loyal customer — never again.
Bose QC Ultra 2 not charging
I bought Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds (2nd Gen) and in less than a year one earbud suddenly didn't charge anymore. It was still under warranty, they couldn't fix it and I just got a new pair. No complaints about the service but now, less than a year later I have the exaxt same problem. One earbud just doesn't charge and of course I don't have warranty anymore now.
Deplorable service and bad products
I bought their earbuds and shortly after receiving them, one of the earbuds stopped charging. Their customer service is deplorable and tried to tell me they couldn’t replace them. Finally they replaced them and I am having the same issue with the new pair. I would never buy another Bose product.
The element that’s inside the ear piece…
The element that’s inside the ear piece has broken and ‘not covered by the warranty’. Tinpot company hiding behind nice design.
Closing Down???
I’ve been a loyal customer and admirer of Bose for many years, but unfortunately, over the last few years I’ve noticed a clear decline in customer support and commitment to clients.
I purchased a pair of Bose audio sunglasses, and at first the experience was excellent, exactly what I expected from the brand. However, the glasses suddenly stopped charging and became completely unusable.
The first time I contacted customer support, I was treated very well. The representative even offered me the possibility of replacing the product with another device since my model had been discontinued. I appreciated the professionalism and decided to give it another try by following the troubleshooting steps they sent me by email.
After contacting support a second time, the entire conversation changed. I was then informed that they could no longer provide support because I am currently traveling.
To summarize: I am extremely disappointed with Bose. A premium brand should stand behind the products they sell, regardless of whether a loyal customer is temporarily abroad or not. Sadly, this experience has made me start looking for another brand with equal or better quality and, most importantly, real responsibility and support for their customers.

Have been using Bose headset for about…
Have been using Bose headset for about 4 years. Worked great until Bluetooth stopped connecting. Reached out to customer service. Was told to ship the headset at my own cost to assess reparation. Then turned out that reparation cost is higher than buying same product itself. The world is burning and we’re still pushing people to build products that break and make them buy it again. So sad.
Bose QuietComfort Headphones
Bose QuietComfort Headphones: After 8 month of home use, the ear cushion shells of both headphones fell apart. As I didn't buy Sam's Club warranty, Sam's Club refused to help. Bose's support found a solution recommending me to replace the cushions for $49 being 25% of the original price. Also, speaking via BT on WhatsApp or by ordinary phone was always nearly impossible.
Product keeps breaking and support is terrible
Product keeps breaking. Support is impossible - Chats with people who don't have working English and take an hour to process one enquiry. Horrible company.
A frustrated Bose user…
Purchased Bose qc ultra 2 earbuds six months ago and the sound quality is very good and the noise cancelling superb but have been recently unable to use the Bose app. It just won't connect to the buds. I've tried every trick i know to get them to connect but with no luck. Trying to speak to an individual to hopefully sort the problem seems impossible. I sent an email but received a message saying that that was not the best way to contact us, so i called three times to hear a recorded message saying we're unable to take your call. This really isn't good enough Bose, especially when your spending £300 for a pair of earbuds. If you continue like this you will find many a customer will venture elsewhere. I for one would be very worried about purchasing another pair of earbuds not knowing if I'm able to connect to the app as the Very first thing i did via the app was to switch off the buds control's as they are very sensitive and if you place your hands close to your ears you find the music volume going up or down the next track being chosen. I found this very frustrating. Luckily I've set up everything in the app as i like, so when i put the earbuds in they automatically connect to my chosen app settings and i use my phone to adjust the volume. So I've uninstalled the app. But too purchase another pair and find i couldn't connect to the Bose app would be a nightmare. Get your app sorted Andy .
Quiet Comfort 45
The Quiet Comfort headphones are great, the ear pads though are terrible. With moderate use my first set of pads split over night a few days after the 1 year warranty expired. I contacted support about it and they more or less implied they are designed to fail with routine use. This allowed me to claim that their design could be considered “seriously defective”under state law and require them to replace as they were designed to fail from light daily use unlike other far cheaper headphones. When I told support this I was immediately transferred to their supervisor who issued a replacement while still trying to maintain the stance that their is nothing wrong with their product and I don’t qualify for a free replacement but they will be “kind” and issue a complimentary replacement. I was even more careful with these replacements despite that they lasted even less time at 10 months. (date of experience was when my first set failed and they issued a replacement)
Bose - your deliberate obsolescence should be illegal
I went on the Bose website to find out how to get a repair done on a pair of NC700 earphones, as the right side has stopped working - I've done the updates and resets recommended on the web, but these have made no difference.
I'm out of warranty, and was therefore totally prepared to pay for a repair - these were an expensive pair of noise cancelling earphones and want them to work again. At the time of purchase I'd spent a lot of time researching and choosing them.
BUT, get this, there's no repair option! The only option I'm given is to BUY A NEW PAIR? from 3 'purchase' options!? Are you kidding me? The cheapest option of the 3 being £200+
This is a joke - these were really very expensive headphones, and you are suggesting I buy another pair?
This deliberate obsolescence should be illegal. I'm really shocked and extremely unimpressed with Bose. So much for your brand reputation. I will not buy or recommend another Bose product now, on principal, based on this experience: A really expensive piece of kit is now just junk?
Worst customer service ive ever…
Worst customer service ive ever experienced!!!
On 16/03/26 i sent a faulty product back for replacement.
I was told 2 weeks.
Its now been nearly a month!
I have made 7 phone calls and been told different things every time.
I have had 3 conversations over the chat function on their website and everytime they cut me off.
This is a £400 speaker and they have it but dont have any idea what's going on.
Im fed lies everytime I speak to the.
I dont have my speaker anymore, they wont give me a new one because they've lost my old one.
To say im fuming is an understatement
Returned my headphones through Bose's own process. They kept them and asked me to pay €292 to replace them.
I participated in Bose's official trade-in/return programme, returning my QC35 II headphones through their authorised partner, Ingram Micro. Bose confirmed in writing that the headphones were received in full.
I received nothing in return. No replacement. No refund. No credit.
After months of back-and-forth with their Global Escalation Director, Bose's final resolution was to offer me 35% off a new pair which at European pricing came to €292.47 out of pocket. The current second-hand market value of the headphones I returned is approximately €80–€100. They were asking me to pay nearly three times the value of what I gave up.
During this process, their escalation director sent me pricing in Danish Krone (DKK) despite me being based in the Netherlands — then admitted he had "forgotten" I was in the Netherlands. This is how carefully my case was reviewed.
When I formally rejected this offer and raised these points, I received a one-line response stating the matter was "closed" and they would not engage in further correspondence.
Bose confirmed receipt of my product. I have nothing. They consider this resolved.
If you are considering a Bose trade-in or return programme, please be aware of my experience before proceeding.
Loss of hearing! Dont buy
Loss of hearing!! Dont buy! Cant adjust the volym when ; the power is low, or when you turn them on
Expl: your are listening to music or ibook, the headset tell you; power low, thevolume is on the highest possible level. Also when you turn them on, DO NOT HAVE THEM IN THE EAR!!
Sold in other market then BOSE. There iwas sold 2019-2021
Huge risk for pricy products
Entered the wrong delivery address on an order this morning and, and tried to correct it this afternoon before it shipped. Next to no options for customer support, the chat bot looped asking me to confirm my zip code, email and address four times each and when I finally spoke to a person I was informed you have exactly 30 minutes from placing an order to make changes. I would be wary purchasing from a company selling products this pricy with next to no recourse in terms of delivery.
Exceptional customer service
Exceptional customer service.
I want to begin by saying I bought a pair of Bose quietcomfort headphones from a seller on Vinted, brand new in box, but second hand. As soon as I broke the seal and opened the box and turned them on noticed there was a problem with the power switch and they would sometimes connect over Bluetooth but not have any audio, though they worked when wired. Unfortunately the seller didn't want to know, so as a last resort I called Bose UK customer service line to see what I would have to pay for a repair. The kind Bose agent told me they missed the 2 year warranty period by nearly 2 months, and asked me if I had proof of purchase, which I sent via web link. To my utter amazement he said that they would honour the warranty from my date of purchase, and email me a return label to send my old headphones back to Bose and receive a brand new pair, free of charge. Having worked in customer services myself I was taken aback by the standard of support I received. I want to thank that agent and Bose for helping me when they had no obligation to do so. With regard to audio, I am now a Bose customer, hope this helps someone pick Bose in future, George Whitbread.
