Middle of the night room change required
Attracted by its adjacency to airport security in south terminal we booked a night prior to our early morning departure.
The room was compact but certainly adequate for our brief stay, the wet room was clean and dry.
Regrettably we were awoken by the rainfall shower which had decided to randomly start dripping a few hours after we went to bed.
Not being able to effectively put an end to this disturbance we contacted the night manager who advised us that an alternative room was available.
We therefore gathered our belongings, dressed and relocated. Sadly the mattress in this alternative room wasn’t a patch on that of the first the last few hours available weren’t exactly sound.
I’ve since contacted Bloc Hotels directly but they’ve not chosen to reply.
All in all a pretty poor experience which I wouldn’t repeat, especially as it would appear the dripping rainfall shower issue is not uncommon.

As someone who gets stressed flying and getting to the airport this was absolutely perfect in terms of being directly next to the entrance to security and departures. The room was super modern and clean and great value for money. We got upgraded to a room with a window but my dad's room without a window was still absolutely great. They also facilitated booking our valet parking which was great and the fast track security was a nice touch. Would definitely recommend for people who want a stress free start to their travels

All cost is not included!!!!
Just booed Bloc hotelat Gatwick airport. First the price was around 150 euros and the they added tax and service charge on top of that at 80 euros. Unfortunatly my son pressed through this to quickly, so now have to pay a HORRIBLE PRICE for this.
They also charge in US dolars why.
NEVER AGAIN!!!
My company booked me a windowless room…
My company booked me a windowless room for 4 nights in Bloc Birmingham, this is the smallest room I have stayed in since the boxroom I had when I lived at home, nowhere to hang clothes nowhere to sit bar the bed which is as stiff as a board I've slept on softer floors and the pillows are rock hard, the shower is maybe 4ft square and that has the toilet and basin in so when you're in the shower the whole room toilet and everything gets soaked. It's now 4.45am I've been awake since about 3am when I got woken up by voices in the corridor before one of them shouted night sleep well to their friend I was woken up the night before by banging doors in the middle of the night. I'm going to grab a shower very soon pack my bags and check out I won't be back for the other two nights that are booked these rooms are a joke not comfy after a day's work ok for one night after being out all night and drunk 😕
Great hotel in Gatwick departures
We stayed in an Aspire room at the Bloc hotel in Gatwick. I know the room concept is minimal so I upgraded to get room to put cases, relax and watch the planes as a bonus. Could not fault this room. Price wise it’s more than a Premier but less than a Hilton room. This was exactly what we needed to de-stress the flight experience. Booked in the night before the flight, made use of their discount offers for food and drinks, remotely checked out, dropped the room cards in the box at the lift and straight down to level 2 checkin with fast track tickets. From check in, through security in 30 minutes in a crowded departure area. Perfect stay, we will be back for more of the same.

Ridiculously small room!
Ridiculously small room at the Bloc Hotel Gatwick. Yes, I get it. Space is at a premium in an airport so I wasn't expecting a massive room.
But what do people in airports have? Luggage.
Two of us with only one suitcase each and we couldn't move. Nowhere to put a suitcase, let alone open it and get at the contents.
No where to hang a towel, no where to put anything at the side of the bed, ie your phone/alarm clock. And access to the bed from one side only, so you have to climb over your parter to get into bed.
It's redeeming feature... it is in the terminal. But unless you are a solo traveller with just a carry on bag... forget it!

Can’t fault Bloc Gatwick
Can’t fault Bloc Gatwick. Use this place night before US flights a few times and it’s always perfect way to get good nights rest before a long travel day. Clean, steps away from checkin and security. Given its location its price is very competitive.

Bloc hotel Gatwick the customer service…
Bloc hotel Gatwick the customer service was 5 star, and the room was very modern, spacious and luxurious too. The reason I would book accommodation there again is the rooms are very quiet, even with the flights landing and taking off, I manged to get a good night sleep.
*Fantastic stay*

Enjoyed my stay and whole experience
Enjoyed my stay and whole experience, got a cheaper deal booking direct and they gave me free fast track security vouchers which was handy. Rooms are small but I knew that when I booked, for a short stay inside an airport it’s fab! They’re super clean, work well and we had a good sleep. Staff are very friendly & helpful too. Steps away from departures! Would stay again for sure.

I got bitten like crazy from bed bugs ..
One I saw was Huge
I told them they just denied it ..
I’m still itching and have a rash ..
Today they reply again in denial. I know what a bed bug looks like why on earth would anyone say they were there if it needed there were not? It wasn't pleasant.

Staying at bloc gatwick
Staying at bloc gatwick, checked in by Archie, very helpful and knowledgeable receptionist, just what you need after a long drive. So far so good.

No swinging cats 2023
Stayed at the Gatwick one in July 2023. Paid extra so we could have a window but it didn’t improve the fact that we were staying in a box with a glass toilet. For the price we could have and should have stayed at one of the Hilton’s or the Sofitel. Never again and wouldn’t recommend if you have cats to swing.

Thought I try a different hotel for one night, one of the WORST accommodation I’ve ever had, room so basic I felt I’d been put in a holding cell (Cell block H springs to mind) for the night,
Corridors to the rooms poorly lit.
Room felt claustrophobic.
Dark & dingy,
NO bins to put anything in ie sweet wrappers, basic stuff you throw away.
NO privacy in the bathroom when wanting a number 2 or 1’s for that matter especially when there are 2 sharing.
NO glasses for drinking out of.
King Sized Bed with only one side to exit proved to be a challenge over night clambering over to get to the bathroom.
I should have stuck with one I most definitely liked SOFITEL and used many times.
In short customers basic needs out the window replaced with quick turnaround, BAD policy corridors to the grooms so dark poorly lit room felt claustrophobic dingy,

Bloc hotel Gatwick
Bloc hotel, Gatwick South. Way booking process, comfortable but fairly basic rooms in an ideal location.
We also used the short stay parking service which was discounted when packaged up with the hotel.
Receptionist was efficient and friendly.

Website confusing - but customer service and experience great
Have stayed last summer and booked again for Easter. After a very confusing experience with their website and concerns I had booked the wrong thing and was massively out of pocket, their wonderful customer service sorted it all out for me! Making an early flight a bit more palatable and a great way to start the holiday!

Bloc was fantastic, easy to check in gave us a accessible room as my hubby DC now uses a wheelchair, discount at M&S a bonus and if you book a vip offer you get fast track security which we didn’t need as booked airport special assistance but could be worth it saving £6 each. Check out simple and will definitely be top of list

Budget hotels like Premier Inn do it better
Staff were brilliant. Very helpful and pleasant. Bed was comfortable. Location was great and very convenient for the city centre.
Hotel look a bit tired. If you have two people sharing a room one has to clamber over the other to get out of bed. Bathroom/ toilet/shower has a glass door so no privacy and is so small that you can not use the shower without getting everything including the toilet soaking wet which is not pleasant for the next person if a couple sharing. When we arrived the bathroom floor was wet so we had to paddle around in that and the shower head was hanging out of the ceiling . The room was noisy and traffic could plainly be heard and in the middle of the night got woken up by banging that was so loud you could feel the vibrations. Marketed as a as a ultra modern Japanese inspired hotel but is really just an exercise in cramming the most rooms into the smallest space to maximise profit.
Ok for singles but expensive for what it is.
Update: Just had a reply from Bloc. Only two years after the event. Apparently its my fault because I didn’t pick a bigger more expensive room. I understand that the cheaper rooms will have less facilities but but you would expect them to meet a basic standard and this room didn't.

Outstanding customer care
Outstanding customer care! This was my 2nd booking at the Bloc Hotel in Gatwick South terminal.
I have to say it’s the only time I have travelled to airport check-in totally stress free.
But I have to say I have never experienced such a caring and thoughtful customer service. I had unfortunate unforeseen circumstances with my 2nd booking and needed to contact them. They replied to my email immediately and were AMAZING!
Such a state of the art set up and easy check in and out makes it a must!
Highly recommend this hotel. Thank you Bloc you did well and I wanted others to know.
