Better than the original blinds.
I had large roof Velux windows, which had had Velux blackout blinds in use over 19 years. The spring had gotten weak ( making opening the blinds harder) and the side-cord on both blinds had frayed.
So, now they were letting in light at the edges because the tension was gone.
I love fixing stuff and had a go at pretensioning the spring. This I managed.
But replacing the cord was an issue. Needed to obtain the original type of cord and despite 3-4 months of looking online and in regular upholstery/curtain/handcraft shops around the country, I failed.
So, finally I accepted, I needed to buy replacements.
I found Blocblinds online. Read their website and info. Everything looked good. But you know, a website can say anything....the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
So I ordered 2 Blocblinds blackout blinds using the Velux code for the ones I was replacing.
The price was cheaper than the Velux equivalent.
and when they arrived, I was able to install them within minutes.
They work beautifully.
Dare I say, better than the original Velux.
I am more than satisfied to end up with blinds that are actually better than the originals.
