I have trouble with diets in that I have to add so many items. This includes everything needed to eat in one day. Couple of pounds down already. Food is pretty good, couple of items on the spicy side but can always remove items you don't like and change the menu every week.

I'm autistic and stressing about what to eat is.. well.. stressful. My husband cooked for me every night but I gained weight and wanted to be on a healthier diet. I love BistroMD. I was actually scared to try it because of negative reviews but I'm glad I did. I personally have liked all the meals and especially breakfast. I feel full and can hardly finish my meals. The snacks are great. A huge bonus is that I can now easily prepare my own meals and my husband can have a break. I'm very happy.

I started the bistromd signature plan (other plans to choose from) after I had a heart attack, and needed to lose weight.
I didn't know what to expect.
Well it WORKS. Not only does it work, it's delicious!!!
I have lost 20lbs since I started in January 2022.
I would recommend this to anyone struggling with their weight, and want something that will work.

I can’t comment on the food because I haven’t received anything yet, but I have been charged $300 already!!! $120 for my first week (still waiting) and $180 for the 2nd week. How can they charge me when I haven’t even received the first order yet??? This is definitely intentional! I’ve cancelled my “membership” with them. They won’t refund my $180 because they say it is too late, yet I still can’t pick my meals and nothing will be shipped out until next week. JUST DON’T DO IT!

My problem is with the service or the lack of service. The meals will take the weight off of you. However, they ship you out whatever they want whether you ordered it or not. And the snacks are the worst I never get what I ordered. Calling customer service does not help. They started making shakes and this is all they send you. The response from customer service when I said I don't like shakes I want what I ordered "well if you put the banana fosters shake in your coffee it is excellent" Not what I want to do. Who wants banana fosters in their coffee? They keep blaming the lack of inventory on Covid after two years I think they could fix the so-called problem So in the final analysis, as long as you don't mind paying for food and only getting a portion of what you ordered. And being told to shut up and eat it. Then this could be the perfect program for you. But if you like to get what you order, please save yourself a lot of aggravation and move on to another program.

My wife and I started this service 3 weeks ago. Each week we have damaged trays. About 15% of each delivery has torn film, damaged trays and the contents spread throughout the box. Today was the worse. All meals arrived thawed with broken trays and spoiled food leaking into the packaging.

The food is really bad- customer service was great though and canceled an upcoming shipment and my plan very easily. Too bad because I was hopeful the food would be decent. Frozen foods and water when reheated. Grocery store frozen meals are much better which says a lot

Day 4 of waiting for my food, I'm starting to suspect it may have not just have been FedEx's fault. Also, this company uses the same hidden trans fats as every other TV dinner company. Anytime you see 0g trans fats on a label they can legally hide up to 0.49g of trans fats in the food as part of the FDA (If you don't want trans fats in your diet look for labels that don't even say 0g trans fats.) There's no RDA for trans fats, they are linked to Atherosclerosis. Even the heart healthy options have hydrogenated oils. Now we just have to ask if this is neglect or malevolence. In their attempt to check all the boxes they forgot the one about giving a crud about your health. This is near 200 dollars a week to starve. Just eat healthy organic, free range, grass fed food and end this nightmare.

This is not a meal kit, so comparing it to Hello Fresh or other meal kits is like saying "I don't like this hospital because it isn't an amusement park." You need to compare it to similar items. I've done Jenny Craig, NutriSystem, and South Beach, and this food is vastly better.

It's also way healthier - it has real ingredients, not soy isolates and cellulose.

And if you don't like the meals they're sending you, you can go on the website and change which meals you're getting. There are over 150 to choose from, and they cover every style - African, Louisiana, French, Mexican, Italian, BBQ, vegan, you name it.

I also saw a review that said someone couldn't track their current order. Not true. After the window of time for customizing closes, there's a link you can click to track your package.

That being said, the website is clunky, they are currently unable to source recyclable insulation so are using plastic-enclosed styrofoam, and so far whenever I've had their eggplant it has been horrific. (Note to chefs: Eggplant needs to be THOROUGHLY cooked, or it's nasty.)

But in terms of a healthy, convenient, mostly tasty meal service that will help me lose weight and provide a lot of variety in meals, it beats anything else I've found.

There is some confusion here, with what BistroMD actually is! You guys... this is a company that takes good food and makes a meal for people trying to eat better, lose weight, or are using a specific diet for diabetes etc. It is not a meal kit, where you make a dinner out of ingredients.
Yes, some of the food is not laden with salt and fat, and therefore has no relation to restaurant food, or something you might make yourself.
It is a very convenient service, to get frozen meals, that you can season yourself, and there is no cooking, dishes to clean up, and best of all... you lose weight, and you are full and satisfied. So far I like these people, and most of the food they send me. Their customer service is also consistently good!

I'm not sure this is a legit business. I placed an order ten days ago and on the same day I received a message that an appointment with a doctor 400 miles away was available. I was on a wait list, so I took the appt. I cancelled immediately because I didn't know when I would return home if tests were necessary.

I have tried to call every day since my credit card was charged, and every phone call is met with the same message: leave a number, you won' t lose your place in line, we'll call you back. First, I sat on hold; then I left my name and phone number. I called this morning, Day 10, and left another message. Clearly the line must be 15 or 30 or 365 days long. I have never received a call back. Like the Talking Heads song says, "Still waiting."

I have notified the bank an am disputing the charges, however, the best practice would be to attend to your customer and issue the refund.

I personally have used a couple of food delivery companies over the years, HelloFresh, which is very good and SunBasket, which is outstanding. I tried BistroMD because, post pandemic couch potato, I wanted to lose some weight. I have had a couple of weeks of their food service now. The food is really awful, tasteless or bland, combo flavors don't work well either. Unfortunately, nothing, and I mean that literally, tastes good. The texture of their food is awful, chewy, some rubbery others are like leather (Eggplant). This is a great idea (hence the 2 stars), but being on a diet doesn't mean that you have to give up tasteful food to eat healthy. I don't even want to eat the last week of food that I am left with. I was really looking forward to this experience...it's too bad.

In an effort to minimize calories you get fake cheese, tasteless sauces and rubbery eggs. Combine this with significant wait times for customer service and a billing system that does not treat cancellation as you might expect this leaves a bad taste for the unwary customer.

I’m really surprised at people who don’t like this food. For a diet plan, it’s fantastic. Several other reviews said oh hello fresh was much better this is horrible. Well hello fresh isn’ta premade diet plan. If that’s what you were expecting then yes. Compared to nutrisystem it’s like a 10/10. Nutrisystem is disgusting. This is not like blue apron or hello fresh. Those meals are in upwards of 600 calories per serving. This is a convenient, very tasty, diet plan.

Tried Bistro MD for 3 weeks. 5 meals had hair in them. Customer service said without pictures of the hair, the names and lots of the meals, they would not refund my money. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

My family and I have tried several meal delivery programs such as HelloFresh, Blue Apron, Sun Basket, and Freshly. BistroMD is BY FAR the worst meal delivery program we have tried. The food quality is horrible and their customer service is just as bad. We are stuck with a bunch of meals not fit for even our pet. I tried to reason with them about the quality of their foods, but my complaints fell on deaf ears. They actually had the audacity to blame my lack of palate in their "gourmet meals" which is hilarious. Please don't waste your money or your time with BistroMD. HelloFresh is ten times better!

The worst food ever and the customer service is non existent

Delivery was timely, and the diet did help me to loose weight, unfortunately I was not particularly fond of some of the foods that were sent over, as it was a bit underwhelming. Coming from a culture that uses a lot of different spice, it was a bit hard to adjust to the type of foods I was receiving, but it helped me a lot with understanding portion control, and the different nutrients I needed to complete the diet portion of my health journey.

More and more of the meals are coming broken plastic containers.
Several have had the contents of the broken compartment, (usually the veggies), spilled out inside the delivery box.
Not sure if you guys changed your supplier of the black plastic trays, or if the manufacturer made changes to the product, but they seem to be inferior to what you were using in the past.
Aside from that, the food itself, (that hasn't spilled-out), has been very good.
