Bad products and company

Do not buy any products from this company! The first blow dryer I received started blowing sparks out of the nozzle and almost caught my hair on fire. I sent it back, and they sent me another one. Now the high and medium speeds no longer work.

To top it off, they want me to pay to send a defective blow dryer back to them—unbelievable! They have lost my business over refusing to provide a shipping label.

The worst customer service ever

The worst customer service ever! Product underperformed and was not even close to what they describe. Doesn't heat up or hold a curl and definitely not worth the hassle that you incur to get a refund. They withheld my money until I got my credit card company involved. They give an 800# but do not accept calls for returns but direct you to an email and say you will receive refund in 14 days, but you have to continually follow-up. No wonder their ratings are so low!

Warranty not Valid?

I’ve always loved the performance of Bio Ionic hair tools, so I was excited to try their hairdryer — but unfortunately, my experience took a disappointing turn.

After my dryer stopped working, I submitted a warranty claim. I paid to ship the unit back, expecting a smooth repair or replacement. Instead, my warranty claim was denied, and I never received my hairdryer back. This was incredibly frustrating given that I had already covered the return shipping cost.

When I contacted customer support, I was initially met with delays, which added to my dissatisfaction. However, in the most recent communication, the company acknowledged my concerns and agreed that my frustration was understandable but did nothing further. So I’m at a loss of $300 for the hairdryer plus shipping to return to them under Warranty to receive nothing in return!

Curling iron fell about during the warm…

Curling iron fell about during the warm up process. Very gently used and only about a year old. Customer service will not replace or allow a return since it’s been more than 30 days. Buy a less expensive one because they aren’t worth the price!

bio-ionic blow dryer quality is poor

My bio-ionic blow dryer started acting like it was having an electrical issue after six months of mild usage. Sent the product in for warranty and they said it was the filter. They said this was not covered under warranty and would not return the product to me.
Do not buy this product! For over $300 it is not worth six months. The durability just is not there.

Worst company and product

Worst company and product. No after sales support or service support. Terrible communication and no brand trust! Worst worst worst, will never buy a Boi Ionic product ever again. Have all the evidence to support my experience.

Extreme incompetence & toxic attitude to customers

Purchased their 10x styling iron back in 2022 and was very impressed with it; sadly, that turned out to be the only shimmer of light in a very deep, dark cave of misery...

One of the buttons started failing after only 2.5yrs of light use, despite the straighteners being kept in pristine condition, so I managed to arrange a warranty repair; however, this cost me almost £30 ($36) to arrange shipping from the UK to their Manhattan office, as they have no facility in the whole of Europe. Not great but okay if it gets repaired and returned quickly...

They received the item on 20th December yet remained completely silent for WEEKS, no acknowledgement or anything. I e-mailed them repeatedly throughout January yet the only response I ever received was a useless AI agent promising a human would get back to me 'soon'.

The 1st response where anyone from their company bothered to respond to me was on 5th February: almost SEVEN WEEKS after they received the returned item. They asked for the tracking information, presumably having managed to lose the item despite it being sent with the exact details they supplied. I was then promised a technician was 'just starting to look at it' and that I would be updated 'soon': again, that magic word which they completely misunderstand the meaning of.

Once again showing their apparent disdain for their customers and staying completely silent for nearly THREE WEEKS, I chased them up by e-mail. Surprisingly they actually bothered to respond quickly this time and then came some more great news: they DO NOT OFFER INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING! which nobody had bothered to let me know at any point during the warranty return claim, despite knowing full well I was UK-based.

After having to setup an account with Stackry for international shipping and paying another £23 ($29) in shipping fees, it was eventually sent back after having been at Bio Ionic's office for over NINE WEEKS. Thankfully I did not get hit with any customs charges; however, I did find they had sent me a new US version of the straightener, presumably having either lost the one I sent them or having techs too incompetent to do a simple button replacement solder job.

I will NEVER EVER use this company again and I strongly recommend you use one of their competitors with a good rating; these jokers clearly couldn't care less about their customers and they won't survive in the long-term, unless they completely weed out the toxic apathy and incompetence at their company.

TLDR - I was without my styling iron for over three months, it cost me £53 ($65) in shipping fees and their customer "service" completely ignored 90% of my attempts to contact them, making me believe they had effectively stolen my styling iron and would never return it. Also a lack of any real empathy or genuine apology in their e-mails and they left me with a US item, which I now need to buy an adapter for.

I paid $329 for the bio ionic smart hairdryer. It literally lasted two months and then I could not return. Customer Service is terrible. And then I had to pay for shipping to send it back and wait two more weeks. Buyer beware do not waste your money.

company makes you pay to return faulty products

I bought a hair straightener on August 7. On September 23 it would no longer power on. I reached out to customer service and they told me I could send it in to be reviewed for a warranty claim. Now I have to pay $10+ dollars to ship in a box with their faulty product and waste my time getting a label and taking it to a drop off location. The straightener is subpar to begin with so now being responsible for returning a defective product is just a nuisance. When I reached out to customer service they responded with, “Well at least we no longer make you pay the $35 service fee.” Wow, thanks (insert sarcasm) for your generosity. Companies should not be allowed to make customers pay to return faulty items.

I bought the 10X Styling Iron on August…

I bought the 10X Styling Iron on August 8th, shortly (8/12) I received the product. Next day I returned the iron and it was at their warehouse on 08.16.
They claim to process returns within 14 days. Today is 9.10, they have not responded to my last two e-mails and I have not received my return. I have returned the new iron with all the packaging, in new condition, but still no refund. Be careful with this company

P.S. I tried to call the company but nobody answers. A machine says that for return you should contact them by e-mail, where they do not answer either...

A few months ago I ordered a new hair…

A few months ago I ordered a new hair dryer that is suppose to disperse gentle airflow while using the diffuser that is included. The Bio Ionic SMART-X™ High Efficiency Dryer + Diffuser. My old cheap hair dryer did a better job. As a result of a strong airflow off this new dryer, (even on the lowest speed setting), my hair was horribly frizzy! I tried it a few times and then brought it to my hair stylist who had originally recommended Bionic. She said the Universal Diffuser would be better since you can control the airflow much better. When I called the company they said the Universal Diffuser is not compatible with the SMART-X. I wanted to exchange the dryer and diffuser, but since I had it for a little over 30n days, I was told i can no longer return it. I asked if I can speak with a Supervisor and was told she'll email me with an answer. It's been a few weeks and I haven't received an email or a call. I can't believe I spent so much money and they won't accommodate me. Poor customer service and poor advertising. This hair dryer does not perform the way they say it does.
