I have got a pair of wooden gates with bft motors on the back of each gate and from the beginning they have given nothing but trouble open close halfway won’t close when it’s windy wish i had never seen them out of warranty nearly £160 pounds for a yearly service and still no better thinking i will revert to manual gates.

Underground motor failed after 8…

Underground motor failed after 8 months. Bft wouldn't honour the warranty because they said the cable on the motor was short. I have installed numerous other gate systems and this is the first time I have experienced this. I am down €480 along with labour for going out to a house to replace the motor. Customer service was awful and I definitely wouldn't recommend

Poor Quality / Even Poorer Customer Service

Underground gate motor failed after less than 2 years. BFT fail to acknowledge this as a warranty issue and force you into buying a replacement motor. Poor customer service when dealing with the UK team. Not interested or bothered about the customer one little bit and aggressive, arrogant attitude when dealing with. Avoid

Bft motors are complete rubbish.

Bft motors are complete rubbish.
On average I have to replace mine yearly- with constant issues during this period.
Also you cannot contact Bft yourself for help when it goes wrong (and it will regularly)
Don’t waste your money just buy a faac.
Honestly the most unreliable item I’ve ever bought. And cost a fortune to repair or have it reprogrammed or what ever it needs.
It’s Hard to work on as the fault codes are random and mean nothing and the screen is poorly pixelated and impossible to read.
It’s hard to believe this item is sold to the public with its obvious flaws

BFT Gate motors are not reliable

BFT Gate motors are not reliable. Ours was trouble from the start always doing weird things. The remotes are cheap and unreliable and when the motor stopped working completely after 10 months, we rang the company in Victoria, and they were as helpful as a heart attack. They refused to talk to us saying we had to pay an electrician to come out and find whatever was faulty and post the part to them at our expense. It was cheaper to buy a motor from bunnings 1/2 the price of BFT and swap it over (much better remotes) and a proper warranty. BFT never again

My gate control panel has failed after…

My gate control panel has failed after only 7 years -I think it's outrageous considering th price of a new panel and that the guarantee is only 2 years -like a previous review, I can see that they won't speak to customers they only deal with installers. Hmmm, not impressed

Attempted to get a simple answer about…

Attempted to get a simple answer about one of their products but never got a coherent answer. They even phoned my local outlet without asking me with the result that they've taken the infantile attitude that I was 'going behind their back' which I was because they did not have the answer either.
It seems these 'automation' companies have a restrictive practice called 'contract coding' which ensures yo have to buy one of their 'matching coded products' to make things work with their kit.
I've passed on this info to trading standards.
Specifically, the question revolved how to program my Thalia P into single code mode and what Tx I would need to make it work.
Unbelievable, I own their board but they won't tell me how to work it without paying a third party to do it for me.
One day restrictive practices will be properly policed and we can all visit the local Cash and Carry.
