Bought a book from them via Amazon.
Book was described as
Condition Used-Very Good.
Book arrived with a damaged spine and was an ex library book with all the library stickers and labels in. Wanted to return as had bought it as a gift. Any issues in reviews on Amazon say to 'reach out for immediate resolution'. All you get when you do reach out is them sending a wordy policy email with an attachment that doesn't open apparently stating that some of the books they sell are ex library. Apparently this is in the small print of their T&C it certainly isn't written any where near their description of the condition of the book. Then if you want to return your miss sold book you have to pay for the postage!!! Fair enough if you have just changed your mind but for something miss sold it's a rip-off. Terrible company, terrible customer service. I wish the reviews on here appeared on their reviews on Amazon. Funny that they don't!
Lesson learnt for me though. Before buying from Amazon in the future I will check on this site. Had I had done so before this purchase I would not have bought from them.

Very Disappointed ☹️ Book description was listed as new. Arrived used containing lots of handwritten note, highlights and underlines. Return process has been difficult. I shouldn’t have to pay to return a used book which was listed as new. Another listed as new but looked very dated. Waiting on their response to my inquiry.

I sought a copy of "Hassan" a.k.a. The Golden Road to Samarkand. It arrived today. I honestly had not expected a beautifully illustrated Folio Society edition, from 1966, bound in royal blue moire silk. Especially at the price! And excitingly fast delivery, too.

Bought a book sold as "Used, Very good condition." Received with no freaking cover and 3 dents in the spine. The dents I could live with, but no jacket? I requested a refund, sent pics, and was offered a 25% refund. BEWARE! DO NOT USE! CONDITION OF BOOKS ARE LIES AND CUSTOMER SERVICE IS CRAP!

Purchased a secondhand book FAIR SUNSHINE by Jock Purvis from Betterworldbooks. The book was so old that it smelled and emitted spores causing both by wife and me to constantly cough.
I have had to destroy it.

Purchased an item sold by this scamming company from Amazon.
It never arrived and the rude customer service advisor stated that I should contact their courier?

I just found this site I made a huge order over a £100 the next day they emailed me to say join our reward scheme I didn’t know they had so I did and asked if my order from the night before could be added they refused!! I explained they had hardly been prejudiced by an overnight order but no they’ve still refused so I said fine I’ll return the books there is no customer service here Kathleen and Ana who emailed me just kept repeating its policy! Well how about trying to gain customers when your review score here is so low! Wrapping the books up now and sending back

They falsely sold me a book in a condition they described as 'very good' but in fact the book's pages has been written over in multiple places, making the condition 'poor' at best

I placed an order with them via AbeBooks. Apart from the fact that it took them 3 whole days just to process my order, after that they cancelled it saying that the book had already been sold to someone else. This is most unprofessional. I hope I will get a refund, but it won't change the fact that this is NOT how you do business.

This is the second time I've used this company, I will not make this mistake a third time. I ordered 2 books on separate occasions, both were advertised as 1st editions. The books received were not first editions but book club editions. I have never experienced this level of inaccuracy/duplicity with any of the other online used book providers.

They didnt send book . Never came and they don't wanna Sent or do it refund because of 30 days policy

Hoped I'd found a good alternative to Book Depository, but no such luck. Ordered some books, they ended up at a "processing" site, never received my books or heard anything from the support team. If you want to actually receive the books you're ordering, don't use this site. What a scam, what a disappointment!

Multi-orderer. Had an 11book order shipped in two parcels. The books ranged from good to very good. The books are very good shape to like new.. The only thing is library markings and stickers on covers. This does not bother me since I get the books to read. I will except books in good condition because they are usually very good quality. I will continue to order ferom BWB.

Ordered four books by Lucinda Riley, with the key book required from the Seven Sister series. Courier couldn't find my books on the first time of trying to deliver and then when they did turn up, the book I'd ordered and really wanted wasn't there and they had stuck a different book in completely. Still haven't got any joy nine days after corresponding with the company. Spent £11/£12 trying to get one book that I wanted - will order form full price book shop next time! Not using this company every again.

Book was in stock, then sold to another client, then dis not properly understand or reply to my emails
I would recommend that they are used with extreme caution

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing a new book that turned up dog-eared, dirty with a used coupon inside as a bookmark.

Ordered a book from Amazon "Observer's Motorcycles 1988 edition". Not as described.
Arrived smelling musty, definitely not "clean, average condition".
Not impressed, won't be using this seller again.

I received an ex library book in poor condition. No ref to this in description. Awaiting follow up from them. Disappointing.

I ordered a book that they said got shipped to me. I go to the mailbox it ain't nowhere to be found. I contact them they said "oh there probably was a problem during shipping just for it to get shopped back to us. " obviously I asked for a refund i dont think imma get but still worth trying.

The book (Pale Horse Riding, Chris Petit) was ex-library, dog-eared and torn. The cost to return was more than the cost of the book! Better World Books are clearly not better, and really shouldn't be in the business of selling books. I won't be using them again.
