Insanely poor customer service
I'm unsure how a company that prides itself on manufacturing quality products can be so clueless when it comes to customer service. Before I made my $1,000 purchase, I emailed Benicia and inquired if there were any upcoming promotions or sales. I received a short reply informing me that nothing was planned, free shipping is all they offered. Based on that reply, I purchased the iron bed I wanted on their website.
48 hours after the bed arrived, I received a targeted email for 30% off all iron beds. This promo reflected a significant reduction in price from what I paid. This 30% off sale was also prominently posted on their website.
I emailed again and asked for the sale price to be applied to my order considering how recent I made my purchase.
After 4 days without a reply, I asked again and received a short, 2-sentence reply that said "we run sales all the time" and claimed they never adjust sales after they are completed. No apology, no niceties, no signature on the reply so I have no idea if I was talking to someone that actually cares about customers or not.
I replied again indicating this was not acceptable, stated my case and asked for another reply. Mind you, I was very polite in all correspondences. No response whatsoever.
I hope they are pleased with the additional funds they pocketed as it certainly is not going to get them any referrals or additional purchases from me. If I can steer one person away from purchasing from them, it will cost them more than the money they refused to refund to me.
In summary, if you plan to purchase from Benicia, wait for a sale as they "have them all the time." Do not make the mistake I made by trusting their customer service rep and paying full price! Also, please note they have no return policy posted on their website. Good luck with that nightmare scenario if you ever need to return or exchange anything.
