Had a very quick call back (on a Sunday) from Tom of Bedfordelectricians in response to a job posted through MyLocalToolbox. I had a circuit breaker that kept tipping. Tom talked me through the most likely cause over the phone to save a call-out charge. His advice was clear and easy to follow. It turned out to be a faulty kettle that was causing the circuit to trip off. All solved now, thanks to Tom.

This company has different names - they are also known as AS Ohm Electrics I think. The owner is Steve Peacock.
We needed a new consumer box and new wiring to prepare for a new cooker. It is always a real worry if you don't know a trader personally. You wonder if you are going to be ripped off, don't you?
We originally asked a local company for a quote, and they were really awful. They gave us a quote with no details, communication was awful and they didn't even look at what needed to be done.
As Steve Peacock was a Which Trusted Trader, we decided to send him an email. He came round and was really helpful. He looked at all the work that we needed, and really listened to us and gave us alternatives. He provided a detailed quote which was reasonable - not cheap and not expensive.
When he came round to do the work, he was great. Good communication and very obviously very experienced and thorough. Very pleasant person to have in the house too - polite and friendly. He found a break in the circuitry and repaired it. He did not charge us extra despite the fact that it was precisely a job that often has extras. He did not take advantage. He is obviously very honest and very conscientious.
I would also recommend him if you are a woman living alone or old - you would have nothing at all to worry about with Steve.
If I could give him 10 stars I would.
