Headboard smells Musty, Mouldy and chemicals £600+ bed !!!

I ordered my bed last week £600+ mattress fine and the divan frame fine but the headboard has stunk really bad of a musty mouldy - chemical smell I just though it’s new bed smell it will pass within a few hours - thinking back when I opened the packaging it was damp & wet I don’t think anything of it at the time as I was excited for my new bed - I have been feeling nauseous and had to sleep at the other end of the bed to get away from the smell it’s quite concerning as I had a child in the room I’ve had to sleep with window wide open and it’s freezing - my headboard is currently on the floor and the bed taken apart as I’m trying to treat it with baking soda and other scents - contacted the Croydon store today to be told to send an email unsure when I’ll be contacted back and they will need to send someone out and then let HR decide if I get a new headboard NOT in a hurry was quite rude when I called back to ask a time frame !!!! My headboard is now outside my property as the smell won’t go no matter what I have tried to treat it and for the safety of me and my child breathing in fumes I won’t risk it, I have also tried to contact customer service but it just rings out no answer !!

Brought a settee on line through there…

Brought a settee on line through there web site. If i knew then on what there truly like as a Company I would never of used them .they gave me a delivery date and time. Between 7 30 am and 10 30 am 8 hours later they turn up they get out of there van .then the unload and leave it at theside of the car parkand drove off leaving me to struggle with getting it into my flat. Where i unwrapped it took the cardboard of only to find two marks going down one of the arms got in touch with them to complain they told me i had to send a email with pictures of the damage. Emailsent to them. Got an email back from them today say ing there not going to deal with it and blamed me for doing the damage .cant get backing touch with them they won't pickup the phone .my advice never buy anything from this company. Once they have robbed you they don't want to help.please pretty please don't use this company unless you want to be robbed and scammed. you would recommend that you go else where to spend your hard earned money not with this company never again

Terrible company

Terrible company. It says on their website that delivery is within 8 working days, I have now been waiting for over 3 weeks and still nothing. They don't answer the phones, and if you do manage to get through, they tell you a pack of lies. DO NOT BUY FROM BED WORLD!!!!

Extreme dissatisfaction !!!

Do not use this company. Issues with my delivery included:

1. No notice given as to the expected date of arrival notwithstanding express delivery paid for.

2. First I knew of delivery was a call saying they were 15 mins away - not helpful for working people who need to organise deliveries

3. Drivers/delivery men were exceedingly rude and refused to remove existing mattress despite my having paid to have it removed.

4. When I rang to complain I was told the Ts&Cs contain a provision that says if there
Is insufficient room in the delivery van they can refuse to take the old mattress and refund the £30. My issues with this statement are:
(A) the only reason I went with this company was so that they would take my old mattress away.
(B) I cannot find the clause they refer to on their website. If the service is at their option it should be much, much clearer. I have asked them to clarify - but in any event-
(C) not sure how there could ever not be enough room in the van when they have just removed one mattress for delivery. How can they not have room to replace that mattress with the one that I contracted with them to take away.

As a result of this experience I would urge potential customers to think again before ordering any item from this company.

Zero communication

Bed I ordered was 2 months delay ( so much for up to 10 days promised online ) customer service never let me know what’s going on until I chased it. Stress that cause it’s unmatched … I admit bed I ordered after it arrived is nice and I am happy with product but rest… not worth stress

Rubbish

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! ORDERED a divan bed but sent 1 piece with clips and 1 without so can't clip bed together. Also no washers to fix the headboard to the base. Wouldn't take the mattress that I paid for them to take because it had a bit of dew on it as was put outside to make the pick easier but bed was brought in wet soaked in rain. Customer service no good!! NOT WORTH HALF A STAR!!

Demanded refund which I’m still waiting for 11 days later and bed returned
NEVER buy from this so called company
Spent hours on phone tying to contact them they don’t reply to emails then say it’s my bank that has issue with my refund??

Customer service second to none..

I have visited bedworld on junction 9 retail park on a couple of occasions now and always made to feel welcome by the manager Chris. Always helpful, cheerful and knowledgeable. I have osteoarthritis and I felt he genuinely cared about my ailments In helping me decide the correct mattresses for me. I would never hesitate in recommending the shop. Many thanks A* Jenny Moore. Very positive experience

Contrey to a few of the reviews on here our experience was a very positive one , waterlooville store assistant was extremely helpful let us choose and helpful with bed information when asked , no pressure , we made our purchase, requested cash on delivery and that’s what we got , on time and exactly what we ordered the delivery man was very polite and helpful , I’m very happy with our competitively priced bed and base . DO NOT USE!

I purchased our bed and all seemed good. We were phoned with a single option delivery date. Friday. 7-7. No choice in the matter. Anyway the bed arrived and the head board was incorrect. We contacted them on the phone after a long que, they offered us £50 off or an exchange. We opted for our chosen head board to come which they said "we will let you know when someone is next in your area". No apology, no urgency, no discount. We argued it should be asap and it took another full week for the head board to be swapped out. Again no movement on the delivery date or an alternative.

I wouldn't use them again.

please please please do not use these people if by chance you get whot you ordered then you very lucky in my case wrong item been delivered and its been 5 days and just been messed around the customer services team is a farce you not going to get anywhere in this case i asked eBay to step in if it wasn't for them then its good buy buyer beware

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Quality of the bed and mattress is lousy. Had i seen / laid on it, would never have bought it. Asked for best quality super support pocket memory mattress, which is awful. Must have plastic inside cos that’s what it sounds like if you move on it! The frame looks home made of wood. Asked for chrome feet- got wheels. No instructions on construction. Asked for delivery UPSATAIRS - they don’t do that - or - setup. Delivery to your door when it suits them ie you gotta be at home from 7am-7pm.

After 3 months a piece of the spring…

After 3 months a piece of the spring broke off and a sharp spike poked out said they would send new mattress 3 times spoke to them in December 10 now in February still nothing only say will look into it it is now past eBay to step in or refund won’t leave it here will report to eBay and see if I can get credit card to step in

So after many complaints and reviews against bed world and them getting my review taken down I’m here again, I don’t want to give them my personal details to confirm my order, they are a terrible company and would never recommend after turning up when not supposed to and rude workers, quality is questionable and clearly inferior to other companies
