Do not use this bank

My mother-in-law had a loan with them, when she purchased a trailer. She always paid her bills on time and was never late or short. Then she passed away, and she still owed them but that’s not on us, she was the only one in that contract and now they are coming after us even though they took the trailer back (after offering it to us for $9,000 and we turned it down) along with most of her belongings and now they want us (that has absolutely nothing to do with this bank) to pay $7,000. I rather pay a lawyer a crap load of money before I give a penny to this rip off bank. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This bank is the worst bank I have ever…

This bank is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. They really don’t care about their customers whatsoever. If you don’t like have credit or money then this is the bank for you. They will hit you up with fees and will not let you know anything about it. They just turn you in to the credit union. If you can avoid this bank do so at all costs.

I received one of the $7.20 checks from…

I received one of the $7.20 checks from the $600 million settlement by Facebook in the biometrics privacy lawsuit. Checks are issued by BMO/Bank of the West. My bank bounced the check, saying that it could not locate the BMO account the check was issued on. I called the lawsuit settlement facilitator, and they issued another check drawn on BMO. Note that the check number of the second check was was about 400,000 digits higher than the original check. Today I went to my bank, showed them the paperwork from the first check being bounced (for which I was charged $12 by my bank) and they told me they could not guarantee that the second check would not also bounce. So I called BMO, and went to funds verification. The automated system told me the routing number is OK and the account number is OK, but the check number is not. Then I talked to humans at BMO and they told me they can't even verify a particular check by number, which makes one wonder why the automated system asks for check numbers. When I got past the first idiot to some other problem resolution person, I had to start the story from scratch and he hung up on me.

I was happy with my loan I received…

I was happy with my loan I received back in 2017, however they merged with another bank BMO. My credit score dropped because without warning they closed my account. I am not happy about it. I made all my payments on time and always early. Why did they close my account that was still in good standing? My loan has not yet been paid off and I still have a balance of 10 more payments. I worked very hard to raise my credit scores and now this. I’m hoping when the new creditor reports to the credit bureau it will reflect all the payments that were made on the account along with the payments to the new reporting company. It should also reflect the loan was transferred. I feel it is unfair that our credit scores drop because of a closed account that was transferred.

Scammers

Ok, now I’m scared as I read thru these comments I realize I’ve been scammed. I recently got approved for an rv loan thru bank of the west and its has been a nightmare from day one. My most recent and first payment was all paid towards interest, even though I didn’t choose that option, nor did I have the option. I’ve been on the phone 3 times this week to try to find a solution with no luck. They say they’ll call me back and never do. I don’t know what to do at this point. I’ve had an 800+ credit score most of my adult life and now this crap. This is just one of the many problems I’ve had in the short time I’ve been with them.

I mailed a payment in they say they…

I mailed a payment in they say they never recieved it, I stopped payment on check, I have tried several times to register so I can pay online, the customer service reps speak very poor english, have little to no knowledge on how to help a customer. I was so frustrated by the lack of care and knowledge that I will have to continue to pay by mail and that is getting a little scary with all the fraud. I have had this loan for 13 years on an RV, never had an issue until now. HORRIBLE I sent in my new phone number several times told customer service lady to change number, she claimed she did, she did not.

My husband and I have been a customer…

My husband and I have been a customer of BOW since 2009 (14 years) and we just closed our checking/debit card account to consolidate accounts. They charged us over $660!!! for overdraft protection that we never asked for nor did we get any indication on statements/correspondence that we were signed up for. BEWARE! I don't know how this is legal. :(

Bank of the west has become horrible!!

Bank of the west has become horrible!!! All I wanted to was activate a new card but the app keeps crashing. I've talked to MULTIPLE customer service representatives throughout 5 to 6 days and not one of them had ANY answers on why I can't activate the new card or why I even got it. If I could give negative stars I would!!

WE CANT LET THEM GET AWAY WITH THIS

I thought I was the only one that Bank of the West has screwed over but apparently I am not alone. I plan on filing a lawsuit against them and seeing as how there are so many others of you are in a similar predicament, we should work together. My name is April Perry. I live in Sierra Madre. Find me on fb or Instagram and we can connect if you believe you have a case and you can back your claim up with proof. They need to be held accountable for all the stuff they have put us through.

They're stealing money!

Called to find out why the extra money that i'm paying on my rv loan is all going to interest and not principal. They hung up on me twice. They said i had to send it to another address......WHAT! I've had many loans in my life and the extra money always went to the principle. They are stealing! This is illegal. We will be getting legal counsel on this.

Ellensburg WA

Ellensburg WA: It began October, 2022. I opened a Certificate of Deposit. The clerk printed the schedule of fees in portrait mode. Half the document information cut off. When asked him to print it in landscape, he had a fit, called anothr employee, put the whole thing on security alert. I sat quietly while this other employee got up from his seat to berate me. When I redeemed my last CD held there, August 1, 2023, I was accused again of treating the employees in an unprofessional manner re: agresswive, loudmouth a.k.a DIRTY JEW! based on a surname sterotype. Maybe they should put a sign on ther door.

Title

Title: Beware: Terrible Experience with Bank of the West!

I have been a loyal client of Bank of the West for the past 7 years, but my recent experience with them has been nothing short of a nightmare. I cannot stress enough how poorly they treated me and the lack of care they showed towards a long-standing customer.

Recently, my business and personal accounts were abruptly closed by the bank, all due to an alleged fraud check. Instead of handling the situation with sensitivity and concern, they chose to act without any warning or communication. I was left stunned and frustrated by their lack of transparency.

But it doesn't end there. The real kicker came when they decided to fire me as a client. Yes, you read that right! After being with them for so many years, they just decided to cut ties with me without even attempting to resolve the issue or provide an explanation.

As someone who has invested time and trust in Bank of the West, I expected better treatment. But it's clear that they prioritize their bureaucratic procedures over their customers' loyalty and well-being. Their utter disregard for my situation is truly disappointing and unprofessional.

I tried reaching out to their customer service in hopes of understanding the situation or finding a resolution, but their response was dishearteningly dismissive. It felt like they didn't care at all about the impact their actions had on my financial stability and peace of mind.

If you are considering becoming a client of Bank of the West, I strongly advise against it. My experience serves as a warning to others, highlighting their lack of empathy, inadequate customer service, and willingness to cut ties with long-time clients without any regard for their well-being.

In conclusion, Bank of the West's treatment of me as a customer has been nothing short of abysmal. I urge anyone reading this review to reconsider entrusting their hard-earned money and financial security to a bank that clearly does not value its customers. There are far better options out there, and you deserve a bank that will genuinely care for you as a client.

Horrible for car loans

Horrible for car loans. Never sent me the title after 10 months. When I called again today, they told me I had to pay off over $500 of late fees to get the title. I never incurred any late fees during the payment history & was told during Covid we would not be charged late fees because my husband was furloughed. Further more after the loan being paid off for over 10 month why wouldn’t anyone call me, email me, send me a letter to tell me what was going on? Nothing. Crooks & liars.

Steer clear

After trying to pay off my RV loan for many weeks, I found out that some of my payoff was being used for late charges that they claim I had from years ago rather than pay off the loan. I was never notified of late charges, the charges were not on my statement. Customer service kept telling me to call back in 3 days. I was so tired of trying to find someone in customer service who could help that I finally gave up and paid the fees. I will never use them again.

Something has changed

Had a fraud issue and had to close all of my business accounts. It's 5 weeks later and and I am locked out of the portal. Was told that they have lots of things they are working on, not just my account. Miserable situation. After 20 years of great service I am leaving this bank. Something is horribly wrong.
