A $300 toaster with no toasting experience
The Balmuda toaster is beautifully design, perfect size for a kitchen, and that’s about it. Breads come out completely unevenly toasted, sometimes one side absolutely untouched. When I complained to the company, they made me actually take a video of the toasting process and then blamed the lack of evenness on build up of crumbs in the toaster (which had just been acquired and showed no more debris that what any regular toaster would have). At $300, you would expect a very different consumer service experience. And, oh yes, it comes with a small water reservoir to keep toasts moist, their claim of fame… which makes no difference whatsoever if it can’t toast. Maybe I got a lemon but since they don’t believe it was faulty I took it at face value and it deserves one star for its (exterior) design.
