Aweber Is the Platform I Recommend The Most

I've been using Aweber almost since I first opened my business, and love their service. Being a technical person, I rarely run into issues, but the few times I have, their support team's always been just a phone call away. I've recommended them to many of my customers and most of them have been happy with the quality of service they receive too.

Aweber continues to be the platform I most highly recommend for any of my clients who need email autoresponder integration with their websites and landing pages.

AWEBER.COM Is A SCAM - Stay Away From Them- They are disguised Fraudsters

Today I am going to be showing you all the evil practices of AWEBER.COM - AWEBER
You are advised to stay away from them. Your services with them, mailing with them is a risk.

This is not a post for me to blackmail them. I am going to be explaining in a few mins.

We have been using AWEBER.COM for some days on their FREE TRIAL. Our opens rates has exceeded about 15% - so we decided to add all members of our site - about 3000 of them to aweber which we have been making normally using SENDGRID and our receivers have always been responding well.

Immediately after making payments for the AWEBER UPGRADE, they closed the account and told me to my face that we cannot be refunded. WE FIND THIS TO BE UNRULY, RUDE. AWEBER DIDNT and have refused to REFUND us.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM. If you have built a large cache of mailing list with them. You do so at your own risk.

Aweber responded my account was closed because we were sending unsolicited emails. This statement is FALSE. The narrative is clearly pointed to make it look like I am wrong here. If a customer is getting 15% open rate, how then is that unsolicited?

The question remains? After paying for your service, WHY DID'T YOU REFUND ME.

IF YOU DO NOT REFUND A CUSTOMER FOR A SERVICE THEY DID NOT ENJOY, USE, DEPRIVE OFF BECAUSE OF YOUR RUTHLESS TERMS, REASONS KNOWN TO YOU, YOU ARE A THIEF.

AVOID if you use integrations!!

OK platform but if you rely on integrations, forget Aweber.

They refuse to disable the double optin confirmation. We asked three times. Our business is clearly legitimate (to do with English teacher stuff) but they just refuse to accomodate my request.

That wouldn’t be a deal breaker except we went to five people who tried to download our guide and hadn’t opted in - all five couldn’t find it - until they checked their SPAM folder. Yep, all going to spam.

As a result, 80%+ of the people downloading have not confirmed their optin. Our automation won’t fire because of this. We are burning cash on ads and this is killing us.

They don’t care and just sent info why this was better for me. They suggested we just tell people to look in their spam folder. Like that’s somehow good for building trust with our subscribers.

Really annoyed I now have to set up a bunch of new automations and integrations elsewhere. Two pro accounts are today becoming zero pro accounts and I’ll never recommend Aweber again.

Angry face.

There are certain integrations where we automatically disable double opt-in, as noted here: https://help.aweber.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002536994-Can-I-disable-confirmed-opt-in-for-my-integrations-). For all other integrations, we review requests to disable double opt-in on a case-by-case basis.

As far as your messages going into the spam folder, there are a lot of factors that could contribute to that. Our best practices team can review your account and provide recommendations on ways to improve your sender reputation so your messages don't arrive in the spam folder.

I have seen more scary movies that his TOOL

They have affordable prices and is very good that they have the automatizations / auto-responders (they call it "campaigns") included in the price.

Also the support is pretty kind and friendly.

The deliverability, as far as I tested, is working very good also.

But there is ONE REASON I decide to go away from aweber and I really don't understand how these people are still in business with the HORRIBLE TOOL they have.

The most simple things (something other email marketing companies do in the most basic level) are impossible to do with Aweber.

¿Example?

Imaging that you want to check the quality of your subscribers. Would you like to know if your subscribers opens and clicks in your emails? Do you want to check if the money you are investing in your list is worth it?

Well you CAN NOT.

Maybe you think you can export that information and maybe work with that outside of aweber. Well, you CAN NOT.

They don't think show you how your list is performing at glance is something basic for any kind of business.

You can talk about this with his support and they will have very good and kind words but the reality is they don't listened the complains or at least, they don't do anything about it to solve it.

Regarding the company comment below: You can see their response. If you want to check, for example, how your last 300 subscribers are performing (opens and clicks) you can go, ONE BY ONE, in his Activity Log which by the way doesn't show you Open or Click at glance, you have to manually count! It's hilarious.

You also have access to how well your list is performing, including new subscribers, unsubscribes, etc. If you have any questions, we'd be happy to help.

(Update based on Julian's recent edit): Our reports show you overall clicks and opens over time. This gives you a general view of your subscriber activity. You can also view stats for individual broadcasts you send, and automated campaigns you send.

The confirmation email goes to SPAM and…

The confirmation email goes to SPAM and cant be removed because the aweber team blocked it from the system. When you ask for help the support team just send you articles over and over again. Didn't solved any of my problems.
DONT DO EMAIL MARKETING WITH AWEBER.

They Send Your Address With Your Email…

They Send Your Address With Your Email , That's Not good we don't want to send my address to my subscribers but there's no option to remove address from email . Worst service ever deserve negative Rating

Aweber will SUSPEND your account :)

I recently joined AWEBER and I have been importing list from Mailchimp. That was no problem at all.
I then upload a list which was scrapped from internet. The list was uploaded smoothly I sent a newsletter to the list. I then uploaded 2nd list of emails which was scrapped from internet. The list didn’t go through. I thought there was a technical glitch. I tried again. But still didn’t go through. I tried uploading the same list of emails the next day. The list didn’t go through. There was no error message shown on the screen. 2 days later my account was suspended. When I enquired from AWEBER Helpdesk they told me that I have been uploading - found, purchased, or shared third party leads and those are strictly prohibited in AWeber. I told their FRIENDLY help desk import specialist “IAN R" that I did not know about this policy. And can they re-instate the account and I will be mindful of not using scarped list. Now here starts the WORLD CLASS customer service from IAN R. He told me "We had warned you several times against this practice of taking email addresses off of websites to send them unsolicited email.”
I thought he had sent several warning emails to my registered email id. I checked but there was no email from him. Maybe friendly IAN called me. But no calls.

So I mailed IAN back and told him, I did not receive SEVERAL email warning mails from you. Then his response was even more creative. He said "The warnings were displayed prominently in the Import History page in your account where you would see the results of an import. This did not require accessing that email address to view the warnings.” And I am wondering where are the warning displayed prominently on import page. Maybe they are hiding in their “Terms and Conditions” links. Poor me I missed to read the T&C.

Every company has their terms and conditions, which I totally agree and would like to abide by that if I am using their service. Here are the issues with AWEBER

1. They do not show warnings prominently on their import screens. They should clearly display on the screen “We will SUSPEND your account if you import scrapped list.”
2. Even if by mistake customer uploads the list, mail the customer warn the customer. If customer does it again then surely suspend the account.
3. Remove rude customer executives like IAN R. They will just spoil your reputation .

I have decided to move to other service provider. Now they are not even giving my data that I have uploaded on AWEBER. Outrageous!

You won't get your refund

You won't get your refund when you cancel within the free trial period 30 days.
Their modus operandi to cheat is as follows:
You buy one quarter with the first month free. You will be billed for two months. This is ok.
You cancel within the first 30 days, the free period.
You will get a mail stating that your request has been updated, your account will be canceled at the end of the billing period, that is at the end of three months.
This is NOT OK. You request the cancelation within the free period to get back your money.
Now, when you request the refund again, AWEBER will say that you have used their service for 3 months hence no refund.
AWEBER on their own keep your account active for 3 months though that was not your request, thus technically cheating you.
This is an UNETHICAL company. Beware.

Arbitrary customer list rejections

Every customer list that I imported they would make arbitrary rejections if they didn’t like the list. Very puzzling since all the customer lists had the same structure. Even thought it took me 4 hours to set up with a new service it was well worth the time to get rid of aweber.

Bad Customer Service & No Technical Support Made Me Close My Accounts

I been with aweber for a long time, not only that I also referred others to use Aweber.
So when I purchased a new online software, the online software wanted for me to get the user id and api secret key.
Not a big issue for normal Autoresponder Services to get.
Yet aweber semantics and customer care didn't want to budge nor be supportive, so they sent me back to the Software Company that I needed the Integration details for, telling me it isn't their responsibility. The other Company told me to go back to aweber and ask to open a developer account to create those details I need or have them do it for me.

Aweber again didn't do either, nor where they helpful.

I closed all my Accounts including my Affiliation with them and won't be going back to them for sure, no matter how much marketing they do!!!!!

Scam comapny

Using AWeber's free trial was one of the biggest mistakes in my business. They closed my account without any prior notice or warning RIGHT AFTER charging me $800 for the next month of service. Also, they will not refund you and give back your list. I tried to contact their support many times, but they block me every time. They are a SCAM company and should be sued for their unethical business practices.

The days of 'sneaky billing' are no longer being tolerated.

When aweber users log into their accounts a total number of subscribers are shown that causes customers to think that this is their total number of people that they will be billed for.

However, aweber bilsl you for unsubscribed people too. This would be fine if they had enough integrity to display this list total along with the other list total so you know what you're paying for. They don't include this in the displayed list.

We found this to be misleading and non-transparent. We asked customer service to to reverse the charges and they refused to honor an $20 discrepancy with a 5 + year customer.

We started looking for other options and found several better alternatives with comparable deliverability rates and with more features, and far less money. Some of the alternatives to aweber don't even charge to 'store' lists, only for email sending. Pretty cool.

We're happy to have left aweber. Companies like this will be left behind in the future by their competition, we feel. But, no hard feelings, and wish them the best. We hope they adapt their ways to become more transparent.

We wrote this review to inform the public that we don't feel aweber cares about their customers and needs to be more transparent with their billing. We also wanted to let you know that we found several better alternatives. :)

Terrible experience

Terrible experience. I regret the day I decided to try AWeber. We signed up for a free one month trial. Realized that we did not like the service and asked to cancel our account via email.

Later we realized that AWeber did not cancel our account and charged us after one month. That's ok, things happen. We contacted customer support and asked for a refund. They refused to give us money back saying that they replied with some request for verification which we missed.

After half an hour battle I just gave up and submitted a charge back with my bank. Customer support was not helping at all. Even when I asked to talk to a manager, they still refused to issue a refund and said they would charge me at the end of the month even if I cancel my account now. Really? O_o

To sum it up, we had lots of problems uploading our customer list from Shopify. Those few subscribers that we were able to upload, got a very bad open rate with AWeber comparing to other services. Than AWeber went completely out of integrity and refused to issue a refund ignoring our previous request to cancel the account. What a rip off. Stay away from AWeber.

Used for many years to mange my list/s.
Very good site and support is great both in terms of articles and livechat.
Livechat you get someone who is obviously not talking to loads of other people, and that actually understands how their product works thoroughly.
If you're doing email marketing and have a list that has real value in your niche they are a very good option. Not cheap, so only for medium/higher value product marketing really.
But well run and professional.

Reliable, Easy to Use, Excellent Support

Have been using them for a while and overall I'm happy with the service. In particular, it's really good they have a live chat facility on their site, so if you encounter any issues or have any questions, you can speak to someone quickly.

The only downside is they count and charge you for unsubscribed/bounced email addresses as part of your subscription and they once rejected an import I did despite the list being my own and 100% opt in.

Other than that, they've provided a reliable service. I've tried other providers and they're much better than the "industry leaders".
