I had previously signed up for Audible but did not buy anything or subscribe.
Recently, I reset my Audible password. Shortly afterward, I noticed a $200+ charge on my card!
I did not authorise this charge, and I did not sign up for any free trial or purchase.
I contacted Audible support. They were unhelpful and sounded rehearsed. They checked the last four digits of the card used and confirmed there were no charges on their system.
They then asked for details of my other cards to “check further”. I refused to provide them, since it seemed unnecessary and unsafe.
As of now, the charge remains unexplained, and I am disputing it through my bank.
This experience has been frustrating especially so close to Christmas. I share this so others can monitor their accounts closely and verify any unexpected charges. Very dodgy practices!

The Audible Plus section appears to be near impossible to find no matter how I try to get its Trying to get in contact with someone ie even worse.Its almost as if oh I dont know they dont give a ........ ( Fill in as appropriate). Queue automated guff response about very sorry and take all customer feedback very seriously yadda yadda yadd.

This is crap. Just downloading and converting the book you bought to mp3 is ten times more complicated than pirating it. That is sending all the wrong signals. Is this company run by idiots?

This Service is terrible. I spoke to an agent last month regarding a payment i didnt know i had to pay. i asked for my account to be deleted and the subscription to be cancelled and my money to be refunded. not only did i not get my money back but they alos didnt cancel my subscribtion. note that i cancelled my subscription every month and they still charged me. i dont know how to get my money back or how to cancel the service. the chat feature doesnt work and i have to pay to make a phone call.

Audible (Amazon). Wow. There are dozens of things that make this company one of the most unpleasant ever. It’s the service hell.
Example: I want to return an audiobook that is really poorly made. There's no link for this on the homepage (as usual). I would have to call the UK (!!!) to contact their service. Of course, this is intentional, so people give up on trying to return.
I think this is at least legally questionable. Morally, it's obviously wrong. But Amazon doesn’t care about morality - we know it's always about maximum profit by any means necessary.
Sad. Worrisome and for me, the end of the Audible/Amazon relationship. I spend thousands of euros a year on Amazon. Now I've had enough. The power of these companies is and will certainly become a major problem.

Beispiel: Möchte ein Audiobook, dass wirklich schlecht gemacht ist, zurück geben. Auf der Homepage gibt es keinen Link dafür (wie sonst auch). Ich müsste in Großbritanien (!!!) anrufen um Kontakt zum Service aufnehmen zu können. Natürlich ist das beabsichtigt, damit die Leute auf einen Rückgabeversuch verzichten.
Denke, dass ist rechtlich zumindest fragwürdig. Moralisch ohnehin. Aber was kümmert Amazon schon die Moral - wir wissen, es geht immer nur um maximalen Profit mit allen Mitteln.
Traurig. Bedenklich und für mich das Ende der Audible/Amazon Beziehung. Kaufe um mehrere tausende Euro pro Jahr bei Amazon ein. Jetzt reicht es mir. Die Macht dieser Firmen ist und wird garantiert noch zu einem großen Problem.

Continued to charge me for a subscription I did not even know I had with audible.de after signing up AND cancelling on audible.co.uk.
I have all the emails and screenshots of cancellation. They continued to send threating emails.
Please do not subscribe, you will create a lot of unnecessary admin and headaches in your life.
I am now in a process of requesting all my information from audible.de under the EU law in order to establish what information they have about my actions and account status.
UPDATE (20 July 2023)
Spoke to an agent via chat who indicated that she will ensure my account is cancelled and that I do not have to pay the outstanding fees.
Will monitor whether the threatening documents and emails continue.

I ordered an audiobook from them which i never received. After a myriad of emails, it is virtually impossible to reach them, they never addressed my issue and sent me prefabricated emails about priblems with my account. As though my request and purchase did not exist!!! But the money went out of my bank account. Appalling.... Do never use them! A scam...
