Dealing With Aston Lovell

I have dealt with Mark Hall over many years and I wrote a good review, but I rescind this review, because he cannot be contacted and he has lost a crate of Ch Lafite 98 and will not respond to my requests for compensation. I still have wine with Aston Lovell and I now regret dealing with them.

Aston Lovell

I reported Aston Lovell to Action Fraud and received an email yesterday stating that the information I gave them has been passed on to City of London Police . i hope more people will do the same .

After some discussions with Mark Hall

After some discussions with Mark Hall, agreed to consign my wine stock to them for sale. As soon as the stocks were transferred Hall became uncontactable, apart from a few messages through someone else that several of my wines had been sold. It appears that there is no prospect of any recovery - I don't know the current values, but on transfer the valuation was (in round numbers) £45,000. With hindsight, this looks like a criminal enterprise, not just a badly run company.

Aston Lovell Ltd

I have had a wine portfolio with Aston Lovell Ltd for a number of years. I understand that the company went into receivership in December. Can anyone advise further on this matter?

Steve Braithwaite …

Steve Braithwaite and anyone else who has complaint with Aston Lovell, go on Facebook, go to groups and type in Aston Lovell Complaints. This a group of people banding together to take action against Mark Hall so, the more, the merrier.

SERIOUS FRAUD

Please contact me in order that we can all act together to report these individuals to the Serious Fraud Office.
Their conduct was clearly dishonest and premeditated. This is the only way we can protect our position and possibly get back what we have had stolen.

Be VERY careful using Aston Lovell ~…

UPDATE - two months has since pass with countless more unanswered emails and no contact! Its a SCAM! Be VERY careful using Aston Lovell ~ it’s a very strait forward scam they running. Provide a quick over valued quote , arrange collection ASAP and never respond to email or call once collected. If you wish not to see your valued wine again. I would no trust or use Mark ever again as I’ve been chasing him for 10 months just to get my wine returned.

A MINUS five stars experience - steer clear at all costs

My experience echoes those already posted: wine delivered to Aston Lovell back in January, no communication initially, then constant excuses whenever I phoned them. For those wanting to take action to try to recover their wine or payment for it, (I'm currently trying to do this) I suggest reporting the company and its director to Action Fraud and speaking to the Citizens' Advice Bureau or a solicitor, sending the official letters they suggest and following up with an application to the small claims court. I've done all of the above and am waiting to see what will happen.
Hopefully the more people that take action, the greater the chance of us recouping our wine or a fair payment for it.
If I could put negative stars here, I would!

Wine gone

Wine gone, although some apparently sold, no response to emails or calls. Driven to conclude that it's a scam, and Mark Hall is a crook.

Where do we go from here ?

Despite endless calls and emails, we now have come to the conclusion that Aston Lovell no longer is operating. Their only landline contact number is not receiving messages and their website appears to have been removed. I wrote to them last week indicating that we were going to approach BBC consumer programme to expose the company with the hope that they would respond, but sadly no response. They have had our wine since February 2021, but claimed it had been sold last September. Whenever we made contact the Admin person Louise, gave us countless reasons why Mark Hall was unable to contact us. The last being moving offices. It follows everyone else’s complaints.

Deeply dishonest company

I have had exactly the same experience as other reviewers. I deposited my wine, valued at over £15,000, with Aston Lovell in May. Having heard nothing subsequently, I have emailed Mark Hall on numerous occasions, with no reply. I have also spoken to his colleague, Louise, on the phone on a number of occasions, with unfulfilled promises that Mark would call me back and stories about Mark being busy with a family bereavement. At a loss as to what to do next.

Very similar complaint to other customers, HALL informed me earlier this year that he had sold all my wine worth over £20,000 (his estimate) and that I would receive my money. Still waiting he is impossible to speak with, (always busy) his company must be down the pan and its likely he will jump ship soon!
