Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 137 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many found the platform very expensive, with credits quickly depleted for basic interactions and often unclear pricing. Reviewers frequently encountered numerous fake profiles, bots, and scammers who often tried to move conversations to external apps. This led to frustration, as customers struggled to connect with genuine individuals, spending significant amounts without real interaction or successful meetings. Some people were dissatisfied with website policies, such as requests for government ID and challenges for real women trying to use the platform. Additionally, customers reported issues with credit card charges and an outdated, difficult-to-navigate interface.

They are a fraud

They are a fraud. More than 500 dollars spent on nothing. Women listed are either fake profiles , or spammers fishing crocks, or company staff making fake identities to send favorites to subscribers to lure them to open massages which will eat all credits. It is a big scamming and i am filing a full report to FTC and IC3. This website should be shut down.

possibly the worst dating site ever

possibly the worst dating site ever! had been on there for a few years and they banned me all of a sudden for no reason at all, but apart from that there is hardly any new guys on there, it's just the same small amount of men from years ago, there is no way to contact support either, i feel for any paid member who wasted their money as the site is full of bots and scammers, i would not recommend this site to anyone at all stay well clear! The site is also stuck 15 years in the past, absolutely ridiculous to try an navigate and search etc, you have been warned.

I joined and within 2 hours my profile…

I joined and within 2 hours my profile had been removed or reported as being fake. The members on there moan about bots and fake profiles and when a genuine person tries to join they report it, why are you still there if you think all profiles are fake?? Waste of time and effort. Better sites elsewhere.

Absolute total WASTE of my hard -earned $

I gave it a really good shot - tried it for at least year. I am close to three major metropolitan areas so should have had a productive experience - WRONG! There is nothing but fakes & con women on here all from foreign countries. Don't believe me - download some reverse pic search engines. Absolute garbage!

£10 a message !!!

I bought £69.99 credits. I was able to send about 7 very short messages before the credits were used. That's £10 a message !!!
There doesn't seem to be anywhere to monitor your credit use.
I got an email " you have a message from ...." There was no message or member by that name. There was no response from Ashley Madison to this problem.

Ashleymadison now requesting government…

Ashleymadison now requesting government ID is a joke 😃😃 immediately you sign up ..they delete/suspend your account then start asking for government ID. I will never upload my ID to a site like that or do a selfie verification just because a site asked for it. The control is too much for an affair site.
It literally not that serious and most of the men on there are mediocre to say the least.

Who is going to develop another competitive affair app that won’t stress us out? Ashley is ridiculous.
You can't sign up as a real woman..you can't report an account as a real woman without getting bullied by Ashley. They'll immediately remove you because they want to keep the bots for the men to date 😃😃😃

Most Guys Waste Their Money Here

I've been on and off AM since 2018, with three successful, long-term relationship with wonderful women. I've written other in-depth reviews of AM, so, if you want a broader look at my experience, check those out.

I have a relatively unique perspective of seeing how women react to men on AM and, now, for the last couple of years, how men react to women.

My current GF and I started enjoying MFM threesomes around three years ago. To find more male partners, we went on AM as "Attached Female Seeking Males." Our username made it clear that we were a couple, seeking other couples and/or male/female partners.

Most of the guys are absolutely pathetic, with no game at all. First, 90% of their profiles are close to blank. Some have absolutely no background information, just age, weight, height, ethnicity and sometimes that's mostly blank.

Guys, you need to talk about your interests and what kind of relationship that you're seeking. Talk about why you're on AM, but don't badmouth your partner. Talk about respecting the woman and knowing how hard it must be for them to sign up for the site. Talk about being discreet and protecting their existing relationship and how you want to meet them in a safe place for them, when they're ready.

You don't need a book to get started, but you do need at least a couple of real paragraphs. The one-sentence come-on marks you as an idiot and immediate reject. It is VERY easy to Block a dumb ass on AM. Women will not waste time with losers that don't know how to talk to women.

When it's time to move to a chat app, suggest something like Signal, where they can use a username and not disclose their phone number until they're comfortable. Safety is HUGE for them and should be for you also.

Sending a "Wink" or "Fave" is a total waste of your money. You MUST write something responsive to her profile to have any hope of interaction. Read between her lines and try to tweak for things that seem important to her. You only get ONE CHANCE.

Based on some testing that I've done, there are around 20 men for every woman!!! The odds are, indeed, bad to start; however, if you put together the beginnings of a meaningful discussion and have a compelling profile, then your odds skyrocket vs. the bumps on a log, which are the majority of the men. It is simply pathetic.

Oh, DO be careful, because there are scammers. AM said a few weeks back that they would tighten vetting of women, but it doesn't seem to have improved. If a woman Winks at you or Faves you, out of the blue, with no note from you, she's likely a scammer and don't waste time or money pursuing her, particularly if she's considerably younger. Not me, but in the eight years that I've been on and off AM, I know of three guys that have been financially scammed, or threatened with exposure, etc. Protect your phone number until you're really comfortable, then, as soon as you get her number, do a background check. If thing don't jive, block, block, block. This is true of almost any sex dating site.

Oh, very few women want to see your penis. (There is a minority that want big penises, but they usually make that clear. If you qualify, then you should talk about it in you initial message to such a woman. More women are worried about being injured by too big). She'll ask when she's comfortable with you and ready to take it to a mattress. Some (most?) women are offended when guys lead with their penises. Yes, they really want it and that's why they're on AM, but not until they're ready.

Bottom line, you can't just check boxes and expect responses. Plan on two or three months of searching. Look morning and/or evening for new listings and respond immediately to one that interests you. They'll receive over 100 proposition in the first 24-hours, so it's best to be at the front of the line.

I have been an Ashley Madison user on…

I have been an Ashley Madison user on and off for decades. It used to supply an occasional date from time to time. My last date using the app was about three years ago and that was only a very sexy, one time meeting which is not my SOP. I still believe there are real people using the app, but by far the most are fake or at minimum, looking for some kind of compensation. I spend only the money for the basic credits and read/judge profiles very carefully before reaching out. I have not spent any additional money beyond the basic communication credits. A few conversations seemed legitimate and we seemed to be headed for a first date, but all have proven fruitless to an in-person meeting. Call me stupid if you want, but when given discounts by AM to purchase credits, the entertainment value has kept me as an occasional user despite the drought.

Scam scam scam they will take your money do not click anything!!!!

Wow. Where to begin.

- They offered a free subscription trial via the Apple Store, as long as cancelled before the billing date
- they then flashed a thing at the exact same time which I, like many users, instinctively think is an approval for the subscription - but no, it is a flash of $300 approval. I double clicked approve on phone as I thought it was just an approval of what I did. (Same minute!)

- they then don’t let you cancel or refund, they send you in an endless loop by email saying you need to continually prove who you are and then they offer you “credits” to save you the inconvenience of going to Apple!

- apple then reject the refund request

- I paid by PayPal now they’ve initially rejected the request for a refund and it’s at appeal.

I have never seen a more blatant case of fraudulent misrepresentation and inducement than this.

If I don’t get a refund I will file a police report for the same. This is illegal and I cannot believe that apple and PayPal seem to be thinking that this is a legitimate business practice.

Worthless and Overpriced

Worthless and Overpriced
Ashley Madison costs too much. It tricks the user into sending "Priority" messages at almost twice the credits. It is hard to find someone because there are not enough people. Women don't sign up, even though it is free of charge.

I would give this site zero stars if I could. I am not even sure the women on the site are real and not something generated by the sites owners. It's one thing to make money, but you would probably have to spend several hundreds of dollars a month as a man to contact the women with no assurances they are real. Save your money
