Do not use Arkose Advisors in Boulder: mistakes, untruthful, unresponsive
My 92-year old mother used them for her 2023 return. One year later she still does not have her refund due to Arkose’s error. They omitted some information, filed an amended return without her signature and without her knowledge, then lied about the reason an amendment was needed and told me they were unaware 2 returns had gone through in the system. They did not respond to my requests for help until I pushed it. They offered to help by having her sign a POA but it tied our hands in some ways while they never used it to resolve the issues. They never fully disclosed the problems it would create. Gross negligence on their part after the unauthorized amendment was filed.
We are going around in circles between the IRS, the Tax Advocate group and Arkose. Who knows if my mom will see her return in her lifetime.
Via many emails and an in-person meeting, I complained about the internal lack of communication as well as the communication with us, their customer, to no avail.
Do not use Arkose. They are not capable or trustworthy.
