Great that the product had a discount but did have to wait 2 days before being able to collect. Past purchases are usually available to collect same day. Product was as shown, was louder than expect... See more

I am writing to make a formal complaint about the way my dryer delivery was handled.
I am extremely disappointed and angry with the service I received from the Argos delivery team. I paid for delivery of a large appliance and reasonably expected the dryer to be delivered to the appropriate room in my property.
There were two Argos delivery drivers present, as well as myself. Despite having two members of the delivery team there, they refused to take the dryer into my cellar and instead left it in my kitchen.
When I asked them to take the dryer into the cellar, I was told that I should “get some mates” to move it myself. I find this comment completely unacceptable, disrespectful and unprofessional. I should not be expected to find my own people to move a heavy appliance after paying Argos for delivery.
I have since checked Argos's delivery information, which states that large appliances are delivered by two people and that drivers will safely take orders to the customer's “room of choice”, provided the access is safe and suitable.
If there was a genuine health and safety reason why the dryer could not be taken into my cellar, I expect Argos to explain exactly what that reason was. If there was an actual obstruction, dangerous access or another legitimate safety concern, I expect this to be clearly documented. Simply refusing to do the delivery and telling me to “get some mates” is not an acceptable explanation.
The fact that there were already two delivery drivers present makes the situation even more frustrating. Why was I paying for a large-item delivery service if I was ultimately expected to arrange additional people myself?
I expect Argos to investigate this incident properly, including speaking to both delivery drivers and checking the delivery records for my order. I also expect an explanation as to why the advertised delivery service was not provided.
This was an extremely poor customer experience, and the attitude of the delivery team was unacceptable. I would like Argos to provide an appropriate resolution, including compensation for the inconvenience caused.
I look forward to receiving a proper response rather than a generic apology.

Paid for goods that were stated as being in stock, on the email confirmation it said it was available in 5 days time, despite it being in stock (apparently). Within 12 hours of order g I tried to cancel the order, and after the AI chat kicked me out of the conversation numerous times I finally got a human. They said I can't cancel the order and the goods will be available next week for 5 days and if I don't collect them, a refund will be processed and I will get a refund. They said it wasn't possible to cancel now, so basically they have my money and there is no way I can get it back for 2 weeks. The customer service was shocking and I couldn't speak to a manager

Just bought a pair of green trainers at £6 in their sale. Wow what a bargain. They fit like a glove and they look very similar to Adidas.
And they were delivered next day to my local Sainsbury's.

The 600 Lumen torch was already fully charged when purchased. I was able to use it immediately on returning home to investigate an issue within an enclosed space.

Disappointing product and customer service – please check the roof material carefully
I purchased a gazebo (£749) from Argos after looking at the product images and description on their website. Unfortunately, once it arrived, I was very disappointed with the roof material and overall appearance. In my opinion, the actual product does not give the same impression as the images shown online.
The roof material looks much cheaper and less substantial than I expected from the listing. This was an important factor in my decision to purchase the gazebo, so I contacted Argos to raise my concerns.
After making a complaint, Argos offered me £30 as a goodwill gesture. I appreciate that they responded, but considering the issue and the difference between what I expected from the product listing and what I received, I do not feel that £30 is an adequate resolution.
My main reason for writing this review is to warn other customers to look very carefully at the roof material and finish before purchasing. I would not have bought this gazebo if I had known beforehand that the roof would look and feel like this in person.
I am sharing my genuine experience so potential customers can make an informed decision. I hope Argos will also review how this product is presented online, as I believe clearer images and a more accurate description of the roof material would help avoid disappointment.
Overall: disappointed with the product and the resolution offered.

Unsure if its nation wide or my local (Westwood Cross) store, but they have either zero training with Consumer rights or are activity ignoring them. I purchased a dehumidifier from them and while it did what you would expect when set to permanent mode, when it was set to come on/off automatically it was not working correctly, took it back into store (26 days since purchase so within initial 30day requirement) and was informed I would have to go to the manufacturer under their warranty. pointed out its under 30days and still covered by consumer rights where they angrily offered an exchange, and told me that I only have 4 days to check if that item is still good, I was puzzled by this and thought they might mean something else, and asked if that was for something else, as repairs or exchanges in the first 30 days give you up to your 30days or 7 days from when you get the item back, whatever is longer, where they told me they don't do that there, and wont accept it back after 4 days and if I bring it back after that its then only covered by manufactures warranty. so by this point they have refused to follow consumer rights once, and told me that anything after 30days can only be done by the manufacturer, this is completely wrong, as consumer rights and manufacturer warranty are not exclusive of one another, and I pointed that out, and they told me point blank, that outside of 30days they don't have any responsibility, and if there are issues its up to me to send it back as they have "been a manager for 20 years and know more than you about this" clearly 20 years as manager, did not teach them good customer services or how consumer rights work, the replacement was no better than the original, so either a bad line or they are not fit for purpose, I wanted to give it a longer test encase it was needing to settle in but after 2 days I did not want to deal with them refusing the return even though that would be illegal I did not want the hassle and took back the exchange, when asked what's wrong with it I explained it was not fit for purpose as it was unable to correctly determine the rooms humidity and then had the fun of them playing 20 questions as "that is not really a good enough reason" and its been opened, I explained that its not that I don't want it, but it does not work as it should, finally after going out back for a bit they came back and decided that its fine to return and ill get my refund. I'm positive should I not known my rights they would have tried to reject the refund, as they were already fishing for reasons with all the questions.
If you go there, make sure you know your rights, it might just be that store, or Argos as a whole but I have no doubt there are people out there who did not know there rights who got fobbed off to manufacturer
