Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 1,464 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggled with unhelpful support teams, enduring excessively long delays and terribly frustrating account recovery processes that left them locked completely out of their devices. Many individuals also experienced unexpected hardware defects, poorly fitting accessories, and extremely problematic app store practices that made everyday tasks very difficult. Some reviewers were happy with the in-store staff, noting that local store employees provided patient, friendly, and genuinely amazing assistance during difficult repair visits. A few other people also warmly appreciated the unique hardware quality and intuitive device design whenever everything functioned quite smoothly.

Don’t buy anything from the Apple Support App on your iPhone

I had to purchase a new black wire cable that goes into my iPhone 15 Pro Max and the other end of the cable goes into the block for the walk. I just noticed one of the end of the cable wire is very loose and it moves from front to back and I don’t know if it’s safe to use on the iPhone. I contacted iPhone support on my iPhone app and they weren’t helpful at all. Apparently they don’t stand by their products they sell on the Apple Store app. Now I have to use an Apple charger device which is very slow charger my iPhone 15 Pro Max

So I got a new iPhone June 25

So I got a new iPhone June 25. My passwords for dozens of apps were in my old phone. Since I couldn’t get my Gmail account password until the third try. It locked my phone. Really weird because my password to open the phone works. My phone number is associated with the account and now that I have the Apple password right still won’t unlock my phone. I go to the Apple Store. Can’t help you you need to go to Apple online. No problem. I go online and it’s all AI. The first time I put in my Apple password is good but after a few other prompts that same password does not work. I explain that to AI they said do I have the receipt for the phone? Yes, i do. I sent them a copy of the receipt. They still keep prompting me to go through a bunch of hoops which the first go around it gets my Apple account password, but the second try time it always says did you forget your password? At this point, I’m real close to getting ready and going back to the android. It makes me think about going home to my daughter and granddaughter. I have the code to open the garage. They see my face. But they keep asking me for a bunch of codes to come in the door. It’s an act of lunacy.

This company thinks it’s time is more important than yours!

This company thinks it’s God this company wants to handle every amount of business in your life and they want you to use a password to do business. I don’t have time for this shit. OK I don’t have time time is the currency of life I don’t wanna put a password every time I put an app on my goddamn phone. I hope you go out of business in this phone that I bought. I’m gonna sell it back to you I’m probably gonna lose money, but I would rather lose money to lose time which is the real currency of life you fools.

Buying Android next time

I went to the Tucson Apple store and bought my wife a new iPhone 17 to replace her iPhone SE. The sales guy said he could sync the new phone to the old while we waited. Unfortunately she couldn't remember her Apple password correctly so after a couple of tries, the guy said he could request a PW reset, we would get an email with the code to reset and we could come in the following day and he would complete the transfer. When we got the email all it said was that three days later, at a time of XXX GMT PM, we would get either a text or phone call with further instructions. We called the store and after a lot of hoop jumping, got an "Apple Care" person. She basically said, "I guess you have to wait, my hands are tied."

For a tech company, Apple is clueless about time. GMT is 24 hour time and there is no AM or PM but there is a seven hour difference from our local time. Ignoring the useless "PM" we computed the expected time and waited. And waited and waited. Finally we followed the link in the email to iforgot.apple.com. That form asks for a phone number or Apple ID. She put in her number. Then there is a scrambled image code that needs to be entered. A few tries at this and finally she gets, "There is no such account." Back to calling Apple "Support". This time she gets an AI robot. She gives up and I take over after asking for some human help.

I might as well have stuck with the AI "guy". (She preferred "him.") I laid out the story from the purchase. He didn't care. When I mentioned email with the bogus time he said he didn't want to talk about emails. Eventually, I figured out that he didn't know anything about the email. I actually questioned him about his knowledge of the email and suggested that he was clueless about them and he changed the subject again. He did tell me that the sales people are non-technical and can't be believed. (I already figured this out.)

I don't have all day to discuss this conservation, suffice it to say we were directed back to the website, where despite being offered the option of either using a telephone number or an Apple account number for ID we learned that they really want the Apple ID. After navigating this we learned that now they want another 24 hours to verify our account, after which they will take two or three days more to give us a code to reset our password. In the meantime, we need to keep checking the website, since once they offer the code we only have a limited time to use it. So we wait some more.

To summarize: We have nearly $900 "invested" (wasted) in a piece of glass and metal that is half functional. It's now associated with the telephone number, making the old device worthless as a telephone. But the new device is devoid of contacts, messages, photos, etc. so you need to carry the old device to have those things on hand. I understand that Apple is concerned about security but what I don't understand is the difficulty with provisioning a new device with the old device information. If I have in my left hand a functional device, connected to a wireless carrier with my name on the account (that Apple verified) why do I need a password to transfer that info to a new device in my right hand, that Apple just sold me? If I actually need the Apple account for some other purpose I can reset the PW later, the lack of it shouldn't make my new device dysfunctional. It makes no sense to me but then I'm only human.

Apple Overcharging With No Refunds

Over the past year, I have become highly disabled, from dealing with a weak heart valve and congestive heart failure, to dealing with Parkinson’s, severe neuropathy, 3 autoimmune disorders, etc. I am unable to work any longer, nor am I allowed to have any source of income whatsoever while I am going through the disability process.

Because of this, I began canceling services that I no longer needed. One of these services was my Apple One account that had my Apple Music/Apple TV/Etc tied into one, along with the MGM+ account that I was utilizing in conjunction with the Apple TV service.

However, although the other services cancelled, Apple has continued to charge me for the MGM+ account for two months. When I noticed the charge last night, I contacted Apple on the phone. The representative was nice enough, he noticed that I had been charged twice, and offered me a refund for both charges telling me that I was eligible to receive it. I kindly thanked him for his service and was pleased with Apple’s compassion and willingness to assist. Then Today, Apple sends me an email update, saying that they decided to reverse the customer service agent’s decision, by instead informing me that I was not actually eligible, contrasting what I had previously been told.

I mean, seriously, we’re talking about two $7.99 fees. Granted, it’s a very small amount compared to $50 or more as refunds tend to be in these types of complaints, but when you have zero income and are having to depend upon family members to cover your expenses on top of their own expenses, it then is actually a good amount of money! Since I canceled the Apple One account two months ago, I haven’t even had the ability to be able to use the MGM+ service due to no longer having the Apple TV and how it was tied into it, but yet I still received the charges —You would think that with all of this Apple would do better on their end instead of trying to fraudulently get money out of me for a service that I can’t even use and canceled before the payment was even processed!!!

Order cancelled without notice

I placed an order with Apple on June 20 for in-store pickup on July 14. I received an email confirming the order that day, so I believed everything was proceeding as expected.

More than three weeks later, just a few days before the scheduled pickup, I checked the order status to prepare for collecting it and discovered that Apple had cancelled the order. I received no cancellation email, text message, or other notification. When I called customer service, the representative told me the order had actually been cancelled on June 20—the same day I placed it.

It is extremely frustrating that Apple sent me an order confirmation but failed to notify me that the order had been cancelled immediately afterward. Had I not checked the status myself, I likely would not have discovered the cancellation until July 14, when I began trying to understand why I had never received a pickup notification.

I have been a long-time Apple customer and expected much better communication and customer service. Regardless of the reason for the cancellation, customers should be notified promptly so they have time to make other arrangements.

This experience has left me very disappointed and has made me question whether I want to continue purchasing Apple products. I pay premium prices expecting a premium customer experience, and this fell far short of that expectation.

The iPhone gets more expensive and each…

The iPhone gets more expensive and each time less and less user friendly. My settings should not change over night and reset to factory settings. The camera should open to a default setting, not with the flash on auto and whatever the f**king feature is where you have to keep the camera still to take a f**king photo and then wait for it to “finish” whatever the hell that was. In the messages, I shouldn’t be waiting 2 seconds for my texts to load. wtf Apple? Why when I type in a name to find their text it doesn’t register what I typed until I erase it and type again. If Android wasn’t so ugly, I would switch to them instead of Apple. Apple is CRAP.

I deeply regret paying for AppleCare+…

I deeply regret paying for AppleCare+ with Theft & Loss. I believed I was paying for peace of mind, but when I finally needed help, I was left completely on my own.
I have spent two full days speaking with Apple Support, senior advisors and the insurance team. I have been passed from one department to another, but nobody has been able to solve my problem. My iPhone is my work tool, and I have already lost two days of work because of this.
Despite paying for AppleCare+ for more than three years, I have been left without a working phone and told to wait even longer. This is not the level of service I expected from Apple or from a premium insurance plan.
If I could go back in time, I would never buy AppleCare+ again. It has been a huge disappointment and, in my experience, completely failed when I actually needed it.

No options for lost and damaged phones

Lost my iphone and it got badly damaged. It had no ability to send or receive anything. I bought a new iphone and to set it up Apple continually attempted to send codes to the old one to verify.
Store staff could not assist.
It took a whole day of hideously frustrating work arounds to avoid.
Apple needs some proper options for lost or damaged phone replacement.
Next time I will be looking for a different brand of phone.

Apple Are theives!!

So let me start off by saying how disappointed I am I am in Apple. I really thought that overall they were a very good company. Mind you, I used to be an Apple user and I switched to Android. Just a personal preference. There was nothing in particular that apple had done. I just preferred the layout of Android. I use a windows computer for work and Androids layout, reminded me a lot of the computer I use every day and I was a lot more comfortable with Android. Now fast forward to today. I am extremely disappointed and did not expect this from Apple. As a company that thrives on the idea of being a high end product, you would think that the way they handle problems or their processes and procedures would be a lot better. So recently, I have purchased an iphone 17 Air. I had decided to give apple a try. I was using the phone for about a little under a month, and I would notice things here, and there. I chopped it up to me just not being used to the whole iphone and thought maybe it was me. Until I read a review of somebody else that was experiencing the same problems I was. Then, I realized, of course, with my luck, I had purchased a phone that had major glitches. So I decided instead of staying with a phone that I knew was gonna suck, I returned it. ( Which was a nightmare in itself with verizon, that's a whole separate issue). Again, let me mention that I was using it for less than a month. And in that month, of course, I signed up for free apps. And we all know how it goes, after the free trial is up, they charge you. Which for me, it's never really a problem because I never have any money for them to charge in my account. Just when I thought my luck had turned around, because my friend gave me $15 to gamble with online, and I won $200.00!!! But just as fast as I thought my luck had turned around, i open up my bank account not even hours later to see that Apple had charged my card for those subscriptions i had signed up for and forgot to cancel. Honestly, I don't even think I even use any of the apps that I downloaded while I had the phone. And again, let me remind you, I no longer have that iphone. So of course I call apple thinking it's not going to be a problem for them to refund me because I'm not using the service. I returned my device over a month Ago. This should be a pretty straight forward refund. And to be exact, there were two transactions for 2 separate subscriptions. There was one for $7.99 and the other one was $83.99. Then, I received two emails today, But only one refund in my account. Could you guess which one they refunded? And which one they did not? BINGO, ur right. They actually denied my refund for $83.99. But approved the $7.99. How does that make any sense at all from any angle?? How can they only approve one of the refunds, that were both charged at the same time? That makes no sense at all. I'm not using any of the services, I don't even have the iphone anymore. So what's the deal? I'm just going to call it what it is. Stealing! I can't believe that they would steal the last money i had to my name. Apple you should be ashamed of how you operate ur business. But I guess ur phones have become so shitty you have resulted to stealing from people that dont really have anything to begin with. SHAME ON YOU!! I will be sharing my experience everywhere i can. And making sure people know Apple are theives. (YES, I DISPUTED THREW MY BANK AS WELL, I JUST WISH I DIDNT HAVE TO WAIT SO LONG. I REALLY NEEDED THAT MONEY)

I purchased the new apple iPhone 17 pro…

I purchased the new apple iPhone 17 pro in the Norwich Uk store. Since purchasing I have lost all my music. I constantly have issues with my watch & on phone to apple support. Apparently I lose my music because with the new iPhone 17 pro you have to pay a monthly subscription to get access to music already purchased! iTunes has gone and since trying to set up on the iPhone I told apple support I have it all still on the iPad, big mistake, they went in and removed it all! I see the reviews for apple are nearly all 1 star, I don’t think they deserve 1 star. So my phone purchased in May, now July and still having trouble with my watch so can’t use it much. Just has a message on all the time and doesn’t sinc to iPhone. In the store waiting for set up help the support guy was more interested in helping the young girls that I was sat there for 3 hours. Cost £8 and I left because I just wasn’t getting any help or any further. I had to google my way through set up when I got home. Awful service, awful product. Wish I had gone android as I’ve been with apple since iPhone 7 and this has been the worst experience. I would love to have my money back and go android.. never thought I’d ever say that!

Former loyal Apple customer

Former loyal Apple customer – extremely disappointed after being told my repair was covered
I’ve been an Apple customer for many years. Between myself, my wife, and my kids, we’ve owned multiple iPhones, several iPads (including one that cost me £2,000), two MacBook Pros — the most recent costing over £2400 — and an Apple Mac. I’ve spent thousands with Apple and always defended the brand.

I even bought two Apple Watch Series 10s when they came out. My wife uses one, and I used the other while keeping my Apple Watch Series 3 as my work watch. I’ve consistently invested in Apple products across the board.

Recently, my Apple Watch Series 3 failed in a way I never expected. The battery swelled and pushed the screen off the watch. I contacted Apple Support and was clearly told the repair would be covered, even though the watch is eight years old. Based on that information, they booked me an appointment at the Manchester Apple Store.

This is an hour’s drive for me. I wasted my time and my fuel because I trusted what Apple Support told me.

When I arrived at the Genius Bar, I was told the exact opposite:

The repair is not covered.

Apple no longer repairs that model.

The battery swelling is a “safety feature.”

The watch is effectively unrepairable.

I even showed the Genius Bar staff the messages from Apple Support confirming it was covered. Their response was simply that Support should not have told me that. So not only was the information wrong, but it directly caused me to make a completely unnecessary journey.

I was also told this is normal for older Apple devices, including iPhones — that after a certain number of years, support stops, software updates end, apps won’t download, and customers are expected to buy a new device.

For products that cost hundreds or even thousands of pounds, this is extremely disappointing. None of this is explained at the time of purchase. Apple does not tell customers that their devices have a limited lifespan or that support will simply end.

Meanwhile, I have a gold watch made for the millennium that still works perfectly. I have analogue watches and inexpensive battery watches over 20 years old that still function fine. I may replace a battery occasionally, but the battery doesn’t explode or blow the face off the watch like my Apple Watch did.

After years of loyalty, I feel let down. Apple Support gave me incorrect information, which resulted in a wasted journey, wasted fuel, and wasted time. The lack of long‑term durability in Apple products is shocking considering the price, and the inconsistency between Support and the Genius Bar is unacceptable. i Have old Nokia Phones that still work when i charge them. their not as good as apple but the still work as a phone years later

I’m posting this here because customers deserve to know the reality: Apple devices do not stand the test of time, and being told one thing by Support only to be contradicted at the store is not acceptable. Apple should not be wasting customers’ time and money like this.

I thought great customer service was why we pay a premium price for Apple products?

Every few years, when an iPad wears out, I turn it in and receive a credit on a reburbished unit. The process has always been seamless and swift. But no more! I initiated the return on 6/24. The "return kit" was a flimsy cardboard envelope, a big change from previous returns when a sturdy box was provided. We shipped the iPad the same day, but it took until 7/3 for Apple to acknowledge receipt, then another 4 days for them to issue a credit, which was $30 instead of the $135 they initially offered me because supposedly the housing was dented (it wasn't when I shipped it). I ordered a new iPad anyway, and opted for free delivery on July 10. But when I received the order confirmation, the expected delivery date was changed to July 15-17. I called Customer Service and tried to edit the order to switch to expedited delivery, but was told it would take four days to process the change, and the agent couldn't tell me how long after that I could expect delivery. So now it's been two weeks without an iPad, and it looks like at least another week for something that previously transpired in 48 hours. I thought great customer service was why we pay a premium price for Apple products?
