My Experience with Aon

My Experience with Aon

Today, I was unexpectedly dismissed from Aon. I began working there in an administrative role on August 18th, and due to my honeymoon, I worked for a total of one month and one week.

Last week, my supervisor asked me to come to the office for a “monthly review.” I was happy to do so, as I thought it would be a discussion about my progress and performance. However, little did I know what was actually coming.

This morning, a colleague asked me to speak with them privately. Moments later, I was told to sign papers confirming the immediate termination of my employment.

Shocked, I asked for an explanation. My supervisor and another colleague present told me, “It’s nothing personal.” When I pressed for a reason, they said my Excel files were not up to date and that they had to explain things more than once — claims I found completely untrue. When I asked for examples, none were given.

From the very beginning, I was encouraged to ask questions and seek clarification whenever needed. I took that advice seriously — taking notes, recording explanations to review later, and always showing initiative to learn and improve.

Apparently, asking questions and showing interest in developing my administrative skills was seen differently.

I am deeply disappointed and shocked by how I was treated as a new employee. I sincerely hope that anyone researching Aon — whether as a potential employee or business partner — reads this and thinks twice before engaging with the company

AON IS A NIGHTMARE

Used AON as an international student and also as the liason for my basic dutch health insurance. Cancelling the dutch health insurance via AON is a NIGHTMARE!!!! Miscommunication after miscommunication, and just as the situation seems resolved, I received an email stating that they have to proceed to PROCESS THE WRONG ONE.

Contacting customer service takes a long time for them to reply to my emails and out of numerous calls only one person could help me somehow, but now we are back to step one after an internal miscommunication from them.

STAY AWAY

Very, very poor customer service and support. We were involved in an accident back in July by someone insured with this company and we still haven’t received any form of update and they just palm us off by saying you’ll have answer by this date etc etc and no one contacts us we have to chase them. We will be going forward with legal proceedings now as that is what we have been instructed to do.

AVOID this insurer (good luck if you need customer support)

AVOID this insurer (there are same price options anywhere!). They got acquired by Zilveren Kruis and since then customer service is a mess (sometimes you need to contact AON and sometimes Zilveren Kruis, even though AON is your main insurer).

Customer support is not helpful at all (understaffed and rude).

On top of it, the information they provide is only in LEGAL Dutch, which makes it extremely difficult to understand.

I called AON regarding a change in the policy fees. The advisory was professional, knowledgeable and extremely efficient.

Definitely don't recommend

Definitely don't recommend. They don't communicate their changes clearly, and everywhere use complicated legal language in Dutch, which is difficult for foreigners to understand. The only positive thing about AON is that their telephone staff are polite.
