Terrible Customer service

Terrible Customer service. Anything you email them they'll merely pass it onto the next agent like a hot potatoe, despite a very detailed description. Lost money due to their incompetence.

Alrajhi Bank: A Complete Scam on International Transfers — Stay Away!

If I had a choice, I’d rather die than ever use Alrajhi Bank for international money transfers. I’ve transferred money twice to the UAE, and both times they stole 80 SAR from me, plus VAT.
When I reached out to customer support, instead of resolving the problem, they shrugged me off and sent me to Tahweel Alrajhi, where the staff were rude and dismissive, clearly uninterested in helping.

Recently, they launched a pathetic “promotion” for Saudi National Day, promising 90 SAR cashback. I sent 500 SAR to Pakistan, and the transfer got delayed. When I asked for a cancellation, they gave me the runaround—asking me to wait 10 days, again and again. Only after I complained to SAMA Care did they respond—after five days! They claimed the transfer was completed, but there was no proof, and of course, no cashback.
This isn’t just poor service — it’s blatant fraud and deception by a financial institution that should know better. Alrajhi Bank’s fake promotions are designed to trap customers into using their corrupt, unreliable system. My personal financial management is a thousand times better than the disaster Alrajhi calls a service.

Avoid Alrajhi Bank at all costs if you don’t want your money stolen and your time wasted. This is a disgrace to banking.

Worst customer care service - Al Rajhi bank

I had been a customer of Al Rajhi Bank for over 10 years during my stay in KSA and always trusted their services. However, after my final exit, my account was frozen and I have been struggling for the past 7 months to get my own money refunded.

I have already submitted all the required documents and even added my Indian account details in the system. Still, the bank keeps insisting on an IBAN number for my Indian account. As per my Indian bank, there is no IBAN system in India — only account numbers, IFSC, and SWIFT codes are used. Despite explaining this several times, I have received no proper guidance or solution.

Even when I suggested alternatives, such as authorizing my brother (who is an Al Rajhi account holder in Riyadh) to collect the funds directly, I did not receive any constructive support.

It is very disappointing that a reputed bank like Al Rajhi is unable to handle such a simple request and instead continues to delay the process. Customers who have trusted the bank for years should not face such difficulties in accessing their hard-earned money.

Untrained Staff, little Help

I recently purchased a vehicle through their vehicle lease program, I planned to drive to Oman on 15/07/25 , and I requested a GCC authorization and granted on 13/07/25 however on 14/07/25. After numerous calls to the customer service and visits to 3 different branches with misleading information and untrained staffs none of them had a faint idea what is to be done nor where I should go to resolve my GCC Authorization rejection. With banks closing time , I managed to have two very helpful staffs at Laysen Valley that managed to resolve my situation.

Very disappointed

Very disappointed, I lost my bag and my ATM card, so called them and stop my card and blocked all phone applications and they requested for me to pay 69sr for new card which I received after 6 workings day, and to get the ATM activated I had to call the bank the whole week cause their was a error at the ATM machine and my card was a difficult card, and then again I had to pay 30+ Sr to issue a new card from the ATM. Very disappointed and not acceptable at all. I paid 69 sr for a default card and I never got a refund on this. 😩

Honestly

Honestly, when i just started off with them everything was ok. Many good features for just a regular bank. For example, they have an interesting point earning feature, which then you can spend on sth like travelling tickets or just groceries. In the beginning it was actually difficult to understand how to calculate those points, but after some time you get used to this system. However, the support service is terrible here. Its practically impossible to contact them in any way, they are just ghosting me for no reason, idk if its the case for others, but do sth about it or you may lose customers

Al Rajhi Bank’s Unacceptable…

Al Rajhi Bank’s Unacceptable Inaccessibility: A Customer’s Nightmare
In an era where seamless digital banking is the standard, Al Rajhi Bank seems to be actively resisting progress. The bank’s inaccessibility—both online and via customer service—has left customers stranded, unable to access their accounts when they need them the most.

Firstly, the online banking system is unreliable, with customers frequently locked out of their accounts, often without explanation. In my case, I found myself unable to log in while traveling internationally, despite having a Saudi SIM card with active roaming. The app simply refused to work, and the website login was equally unhelpful.

When faced with this situation, one would expect customer service to step in and provide a solution—but Al Rajhi has made that nearly impossible. After calling their international helpline, I was met with a robotic response: "Sorry, due to technical difficulties, we cannot complete your request now." No alternative was offered, no estimated time for resolution—just an automated dead-end.

Turning to their social media support was no better. The bank does not allow direct messages on Twitter, forcing customers to publicly air their grievances. When I messaged them on Facebook, I was met with a dismissive response: "Call between 9-5 during Ramadan." This, after already struggling with an unresponsive call center.

Why does one of Saudi Arabia’s largest banks operate with such archaic and inaccessible customer support? If an international customer faces an issue, why isn’t there an emergency contact line that actually works? Why is there no alternative authentication method for customers who are traveling? Other major banks provide online chat support, email resolutions, and real-time troubleshooting—yet Al Rajhi leaves customers in limbo, with no recourse but to keep trying until something magically works.

For a bank that claims to be at the forefront of Islamic banking and financial services, its approach to customer accessibility is shockingly outdated. If you need reliable, hassle-free banking while traveling, Al Rajhi is not the institution to trust.

How bank bankrupt me

The bank that couldn't save my hard earned life time earnings in saudi arabia. The authorities failed to justify their bold claims to protect thier clients. The event that showed me how even powerful bank systems can be robbed amd sufferer is no one except the client / customer.
Year 2018, when i lost my money from my account with alrajhi bank, while my phone was hacked / barred and all my money used to purchase STC cards. Within matter or minutes i lost everything. And guess what reply i got from Bank, STC and police... That why i wasnt careful with my phone. What a joke, how to blaaim a sufferer amd let him suffer more. While bank was clear, all transactions to STC purchase cards clear and documented and phones used for these were in records. No authority helped me for anything. I did my best i cud do, but in the end i left matter in the hands of Allah.
The message i want to convey, banks and all authorities who claim to protect you and your assets are just a drama and nothing more. Justice is rare even in a muslim society. May allah be with all of you.

I recently had a horrendous experience

I recently had a horrendous experience. I applied for a loan and was contacted by an employee at their branch. Unfortunately, I was not informed about the required documents. The employee asked me to wait for 3 working days. After waiting, I tried calling him more than 3 times, but he did not answer. I also contacted him via WhatsApp, where he read my messages but did not respond.

Frustrated, I went to the bank to verify the status of my application. There, another employee informed me that I had not provided the necessary information. I explained that the previous employee had failed to communicate the requirements to me. I then sat with another bank employee for 3 hours, from 18:00 to 21:00, to provide the required information and was assured that my transaction would be ready by Thursday (today).

When I contacted them today, I was informed that I am on the blacklist and cannot obtain a loan through them. This is incredibly baffling since this was my first dealing with the bank, and I have never taken a loan from any other bank.

Additionally, the branch lacked basic professionalism and organization. There is no uniform for the employees, several employees sit at the same desk, and there is no sense of order at all.

This entire experience was marked by a complete lack of communication, professionalism, and responsibility. I do not recommend to anyone seeking reliable and efficient banking services. This bank has failed in every sense of the word.
