I am extremely disappointed with how this company handled my situation. I have been a loyal customer of this brand for many years, which makes this experience even more frustrating. Several months ago, I purchased a $900 pair of jeans, priced so highly because they were covered with decorative pins. The pins were the reason i bought the jeans. The very first—and only—time I wore them, multiple pins fell apart and detached from the jeans. The item was clearly defective and not repairable.

I reached out to customer service numerous times, simply requesting that the pins be repaired or replaced. I was eventually “assisted” by Kiara, who identified herself as a manager. Unfortunately, her responses felt disingenuous and condescending. While she repeatedly apologized for the inconvenience, no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issue. After several months of waiting she wrote to me that the pins were no longer available. This is so untrue!!! Is she did her homework she would have known that their new product at the store for this season is covered in pins. To get rid of me, they finally offered me a 10% refund on the purchase. However, this offer is just another slap in the face. I don't need $80. I need my pants free of defects!!!!! It is truly disappointing and shameful that the company of this caliber offered no meaning solution to the problem. Shame on you!!!!

Bad experience with Alicia + olivia

I am very disappointed with my experience at this store alicia + olivia. The manager of this store Cindy was far below expectations and her behaviour made the situation even worse. Instead of helping resolve a simple issue, the manager Cindy was dismissive and unprofessional, which made the entire experience frustrating.

From what i observed during my visit, the manager Cindy seemed more focused on assigning blame to her staff than actually helping her team and her tone came across as harsh and discouraging, i am really pity for those staff that is under her team which my heart really goes out for them.

It was uncomfortable to witness, and it created a very negative atmosphere for both employees and customers. A store can't run well when its leadership doesn't support the staff and assigning blame to her staff when eventually is the manager fault.

I sincerely hope the company will addresses this issue and creates a healthier work environment for both employees and customer. Thank you

Dishonest Return Experience / Fraudulent Activity

Purchased a sweater online, mailed it back in pristine condition - completely untouched - and they sent me pictures of it covered in feathers & lint and refused a return. It looks like someone dropped it on a dirty floor. The customer service person who answers the phone says she is the Head of Alice + Olivia Customer Service and you can speak to no one else. Contacted CC company to dispute, but I will not buy anything from their DTC site ever again.

I was very disappointed with the blouse I bought. Original price was over $410.00. I got it on sale for about $220. When I received the blouse it was made out of very cheap fabric and the design also cheaply done. I expected a lot more quality for the price, even on sale. I'm done with ordering on line except for really trusted companies.

A complete and utter scam

A complete and utter scam. The one item I ordered was not even close to wearable. When I attempted a return the same day my inferior item arrived, they said that only a 25% of purchase was available to me. I would never use this company again

Terrible customer services. Weeks later still waiting for a refund despite emails telling me the refund has been processed. Will never shop with them online again. They also added shipping protection when I had already removed it several times. Also agree to refund that and didn't.

Buyer beware of online store

Star — Never Ordering from Their Website Again

As a longtime shopper of high-end brands, I expected better from Alice + Olivia. The fit of the clothes is wildly inconsistent, and ordering directly from their website has been more hassle than it’s worth. Returns are a nightmare — no confirmation emails, no updates, and confusing shipping logistics with items arriving from multiple locations. They claim you have 14 days to return, but by the time the rest of your order arrives, that window is closing.

Worse, I used their provided FedEx return label and was told at the drop-off that the label had already been used. When I called customer service, I got a voicemail asking me to send an email instead. The Vegas store gave me a number that leads nowhere. Email support? “Give us 48 hours.” Still waiting. Still no refund.

This is unacceptable for a brand charging $400+ for blouses and even more for dresses. If you can’t invest in reliable customer service, you don’t deserve premium pricing. I’m now contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge.

Tip to management: Your customers have the means to shop anywhere. We don’t have time to chase down refunds

Very Disappointed with Quality and Customer Service

I purchased a blouse for $400 a month ago, and I’m extremely disappointed. Within first wear the fabric started peeling, and now it has two holes! Its look like 10$ blouse from forever 21.their quality has deteriorated drastically compared with what it used to be, reached out to the company multiple times via email and phone, but their response has been unacceptable—they claim they can’t do anything about it. On top of that theirCustomer service treated me very carelessly and poorly. For such an expensive item, I expected better quality and accountability. I won’t be shopping here again and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

If I could give a "zero", I would.

If I could give a "zero", I would. I purchased a top from the Miami Design district store and ordered the matching skirt (they didn't have my size in store). When I received the skirt, it didn't fit so I asked the store for a return on both items. After sending me a shipping label (which I purchased through them for $16.00), the label had expired. I then tried NUMEROUS times to contact the store (no answer or follow through after talking with a sales rep) and I never received another return label. I then contacted A&O Customer Service and was told that I would receive a call back from the store. NO CALLS! I am now stuck with a $600 outfit that I will not wear.

Customer service and quality issues…

I have been shopping with A+O almost exclusively since 2012 and my entire closet is filled with their clothes which is why I’m giving 3 stars rather than one. I love the aesthetic and I love that their clothes generally run small enough to fit me which is an issue with other designers.

That having been said, the customer service is absolutely atrocious. A few years back, I received a final sale item that had numerous pulls in the silk fabric and asked to return it on that basis. When I was denied, I was pretty upset considering how much money I regularly spend there and my response was a bit harsh, something along the lines of “You sent me garbage and expect me to be stuck with it?” Apparently my use of the word garbage was so deeply offensive that it prompted them to tell me that the company takes tremendous pride in the quality of their items (weird hill to stand on when you send defective items) and I was welcome to discontinue shopping with them. I will say they did allow me to “return” it once I’d provided confirmation that I’d placed a new order for the same item. Several years later, it’s still in my closet in the original plastic bag which I’ve never opened.

Fast forward to now. Still shopping there because of the aesthetic and fit - truly the only reasons. Amazingly, the quality seems to go down from season to season. I have a handful of items that I consider archival pieces at this point which are still in perfect condition, yet I just had the embellishments fall off a brand new $295 t-shirt after 4 hours of wearing and a $395 skirt that pilled and frayed after just 2 wearings. I’ve contacted customer service literally 5x about the t-shirt asking how I can get it fixed since I can’t return it and haven’t even received the courtesy of a response.

For my birthday this year, I treated myself to a skirt and sweater which I haven’t yet opened and now feel I have no choice but to return. I’d like to note that at $395 for a basic short sleeve sweater with a bow, I’d have expected that the bow be tied beautifully when I received it instead of haphazardly placed around the collar untied, but that in itself isn’t a dealbreaker. Quality is. I can’t rely on these items to fare better than any of my other recent full price purchases and I definitely can’t rely on customer service to respond to me or assist me if I have an issue.

The sizing has also become increasingly inconsistent. Back in 2012, the clothes ran so small that I often sized up. Now the size 0s are sometimes too large for me and it’s not as though I can size down. I’ve had things tailored but honestly who wants to pay for the tailoring of low quality, high priced items?

I think the company itself is so focused on celebrity culture and “influencers” that it genuinely doesn’t care about its loyal customer base. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars with a company that literally told me I should stop shopping with them if I’m going to complain about damaged final sale items. I worked in fashion retail for years and can’t wrap my head around that response to this day.

Goodbye to my birthday present to myself this year. You’re beautiful, but I don’t trust you not to fall apart. I’d still keep you if only customer service cared enough to acknowledge any of my 5 emails about the t-shirt that fell apart. I asked for A+O gift cards for my birthday this year too - big mistake - and I already had my eye on a brand new top to buy (more than the gift cards would cover) but I can’t convince myself to go out of pocket for anything else at this time. I’m very sad that my favorite brand doesn’t care enough to give me the time of day.

Fast fashion clothes should be at fast fashion prices. If I bought an embellished t-shirt from H&M, I’d expect it to fall apart! I didn’t expect that from Alice + Olivia.

Lastly, I have to agree with other reviewers regarding the in-store experience - it’s why I generally shop online and not in stores. I actually had a great experience last week at the Madison Ave store in NYC and, come to think of it, I’ve always fared well in that store, but I no longer live on the UES so it’s a bit of a trek. In every other store I’ve visited, I’ve felt like I was being followed around by sales associates who tried to upsell me every five seconds, talk me into items I didn’t want, insist I try them on anyway and then tell how amazing they look even when I feel like the complete opposite is true. I’m my own stylist, always have been, and I have a knack for it. I also have prior experience as a personal shopper. The A+O store experience is a DON’T. You may get customers to buy more than they planned to, but you won’t get them back into your stores. People don’t like feeling pressured or manipulated.

Please reconsider how you treat your loyal customers. There’s a finite amount of time we’ll stick around for poor quality and almost non-existent customer support.

Complicated returns / salespeople suffocating

This company (or at least stores in NYC) make returns a horrible experience. I like the clothes but the sizing is inconsistent; shopping in store I feel like I am constantly being convinced to make purchases and lied to things look well on me when they don’t, just to make a sale. So I order online but every time I want to return something in store it’s an entire ordeal to answer why and the salespeople trying to push other sizes or diferent models on you to make a sale. I’ve never felt so suffocated as in these stores anywhere else (I regularly shop at Bergdorf, Saks, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom). To make matters worse- they charge a $10 fee for mailing returns (who wants to print labels when a store is blocks from their house?! But a store feels like a hostage area!) AND you only get 14 days from ORDER DATE to even make a return (it doesn’t matter they took 5 days to get the order to me?) All in all, I’ve given it so many chances and went to different stores in NYC, but they all make a return such a horrible suffocating experience that I won’t be ordering from this brand anymore.

Normally I order on line. I went into the store located on 40th street in NYC. Not one sales person said a word to me. I had over 10 thousand dollars to spend. I was ignored so I left the store with all my cash. I am a Black woman I guest I did not fit the profile for Alicia and Olivia. I will never purchase another item.
