We had a prepaid booking via Air NZ…
We had a prepaid booking via Air NZ taxis. The taxi never showed up at Auckland Domestic. There were several other Alert taxis in the queue, but they would not help us.
This is not the first time we've had problems with them.
And Air NZ allows them to book through Air NZ taxis; Air NZ doesn't care either. We complained to them, but their complains department is staffed by marketing spin doctors who write they care, but their actions speak differently.
Charged $95 to go from Auckland airport…
Charged $95 to go from Auckland airport to Remuera at 8am on a Sunday, journey took 20mins no traffic. Couldn’t show me the metre reading. Avoid this company at all costs.
This was one of the worst taxi…
This was one of the worst taxi experiences I’ve ever had with alert taxi. I booked a ride well in advance, expecting the driver to arrive on time and There was no communication, no updates, and after 1 hour waiting driver didn't showed up nand i have to cancel it.i strongly suggest looking elsewhere. Totally unreliable and extremely disappointing. I won’t be using this service again
Ripped off
After being hailed, started the meter at $19 for a 15 minute ride from Maungawhau Mt Eden to the Ferry Terminal - total would have been over $60 if I had not questioned the fare. Was blatantly ripping me off - stopped the meter at $40 - should have cost under $20. Do not use.
Poor Customer Service
They should close the company because I honestly don't know how they're still in business with their poor customer service. How can you hang up the phone on a customer who's late for an appointment after booking a taxi the night before an appointment (18 hours)? This was the fourth time I've dealt with this and have had to miss my appointments, alongside two canceled GP appointments. To conclude, customer service is very poor and this company is not one you can rely on.
Make them lose the health contract tell the health minister
I am a dialysis patient. Since Alert took the health contract, I have been made to wait a total of 8 hours in one week. Also, I have missed 4 Treatments because they sent no-one for what is supposed to be a regular booking.
The drivers, have no idea how painful it is when you go over judder bars and they don't slow down even when asked. Didn't stop the car either so I could get out. I don't recommend this company to transport disabled people or anyone who has had medical treatments. Get an Uber, much more reliable.
Rip Off
The driver took me from the airport to Penrose yesterday morning and it cost $95.38!!
What a rip off, I am sure he told me $87.00 I would never use them again ever and I will avoid their cars in the queue. DO NOT USE
Despicable!! AVOID USING
Their service is appalling. I have ACC taxi's and have worked out they take a minimum of an hour to show up after being late for all my appointments.
Their customer service is even worse as they lie to you about pick up times and their taxi drivers are also useless.
If I could give them a negative score I would.
Unfortunately I have no choice but to use them as it is ACC registered 🤦🏼♀️
they charge double the rate of Uber
For the same ride, Uber would have charged me $73.4----the taxi driver wanted to charge me over $150! I voiced my dissatisfaction and they gave me a "discount" of $10---I still have to pay $140!
Overcharging the customers
They charge double the price of rideshare. I took the trip from airport and as per their charges advertised in airport website it was $2.90/km. But they charged about $5/km for a distance of 22kms they charged $109 ( despite less traffic). Very dishonest guys won’t use this taxi again. Also the taxi receipt is bogus the receipt had the merchant address of a restaurant in Parakai.
Unreliable taxi
I am on ACC with a broken leg and have been using taxis to drop and collect my daughter at school. They have been late two days in a row. Luckily I have a buffer so made it in time but yesterday I was late. Shocking service, - not even a call to let me know they are late. No wonder they don't display their reviews on Google.
Stay far away from this company
Stay far away from this company. We paid $120 from Auckland Airport to the city centre. We got an Uber for half the price on the way back. We paid cash, and the driver wanted to keep the change for tip. When we discovered how much we paid, we contacted the company, but have heard nothing. Stay far, far away from Alert Taxi
Shocking price gouging
Shocking price gouging! Quoted a price from the airport and added extra on to my card which I didn't discover until the next day. Tried to contact Alert Taxis multiple times and have heard nothing. Avoid this company and use an honest operator.
Fare rip off
Charged $118 for taxi ride for airport to city. Return trip on Uber cost $65. Driver was sick and was coughing all the time. Avoid at all costs
Absolute RIPOFF
Like every else has written, an absolute ripoff. Left Auckland airport and travelled 2km to hotel and was charged $57. Priced an Uber later and it was $11. Never will I use Alert Taxis again, it will only be a matter of time before they don’t exist
Speeding and running Red light
Tried to charge $140 from airport to Central Auckland, took us all over the place and didn't follow any direct route.
He run Red lights, he didn't have meter on display as it was in center glovebox .
He refused to show me his taxi ID.
Unfortunately it was the first taxi at the domestic airport. Auckland City Council(or whoever regulates taxis )needs to sort this out, I've used taxis all over the world and this would have to be 1 of my worst experiences..
Terrible drivers, worse boss
Terrible drivers. One of the drivers rear ended my car, had to deal with owner who goes by name of Robert. Very unprofessional to deal with, texts and lectures me on what type of insurance I should have had. He wouldn’t lodge a claim through their company insurance until he was back from Holiday. Complete doosh bag and kept being petty through texts after a traumatic experience his driver had put us through, like it was a joke to him. Explained how much of an inconvent impact the accident has caused my family, considering I have 2 toddlers and being without a car now, he still found that my circumstances weren’t urgent enough to lodge a claim with insurance promptly. Driver herself also seemed abit off and couldn’t barely see but still took no accountability for the incident.
Totally ripped off A trip from Auckland…
Totally ripped off A trip from Auckland airport to Auckland central cost $130 we should have been more alert but I was ill and anxious to Get to our hotel
Do not use this service
Late two Monday's in a row
Two Monday's in a row, my taxi, pre-booked a day in advance, didn't turn up until an hour later the first time and today, still waiting... Appalling service form the call centre who offer no explanation, don't call back etc. They keep blaming the taxi driver, but I'm quite sure the Sunday operators who booked my rides haven't done their job properly. I honestly don't understand how this company won the ACC contract! The driver has just ring to say he'll be here in 13 minutes (40 minutes late) with nonsense reasons why he's late. Terrible service! If I would give minus stars I could!
They are thieves
They are thieves, google review closed and they over charge not 10% 20%, but 50% more than co-op (the only trustworthy taxi service) Be alerted with those guys.
