Terrible Company -repreated Cancelled Appointments, No return calls



I received an imaging order form from my doctor for two scans on 4/8/26.

I immediately called to schedule the doctor-ordered scans. I was told by the scheduler, that she could not make one of the scan appointments after making my one appointment, and she transferred me to another number where no operator answered, so I left a message. No one ever returned my call that day or the entire following week.

The company scheduler scheduled my a scan for the morning of April 15th in Coral Springs. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. Late the night before my April 15th appointment, I received a call cancelling it. I called back the morning of 4/15/26 and made a new appointment for the same morning, an hour round trip from my home, and then raced to the location. As I pulled into the parking lot of the location, I received a call canceling my appointment. I was then scheduled for another Appointment, across the county in the afternoon. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment.

I next called the office and scheduled my other scan at a different location and was given a different office in for April 28th, 2026. I rearranged my schedule for this appointment. Subsequently, the scheduler called back to cancel the appointment. A new appointment was made for May 11th, 2026.

I called the company office to speak to a supervisor and have been on hold for 25 minutes. No one has yet returned my call. I emailed the company. No response.

Absolutely terrible experience

Absolutely terrible experience. I spent almost an hour scheduling my appointments and was even asked for my weight, yet they still scheduled my MRI on a machine I didn’t fit in. I had to reschedule for the Palm Harbor location a week later. When I arrived, the front desk insisted I had the wrong date and time—until I showed them their own confirmation text and they suddenly realized they had double-booked the machine. No apology.

After the test they said the CD with my images would take 3–5 minutes. I waited over 15 minutes only to be told the employee went to lunch and probably forgot. Three days later my sister tried to pick it up (her name was already left there) and the staff refused to listen—even though the CD was literally sitting at the desk with her name on it.

Completely disorganized and terrible customer service. I can only hope the technicians performing the scans are more competent than the front desk staff. The irony is that they have a memo on the front desk window reminding patients to be respectful because it’s a healthcare facility—maybe the staff should read it too.

Worst MRI COMPANY!

This lack of preparation is unacceptable and disrespectful of patients' time."
"I am writing to express my disappointment pregarding my 4:00 PM appointment today. Despite my doctor sending the orders nearly two weeks ago, the staff was unprepared. I wasn't seen until 4:45 PM, at which point it became clear the technician had not reviewed my file or the script beforehand. This lack of preparation is unacceptable and disrespectful of patients' time."

They don’t honor appointments.

Had an appointment for 8 am. Arrived 15 minutes early as requested and waited 30 minutes before being told the X-ray technician was not in. No apology or nothing. Clerk couldn’t give a dam. Sent to a second location where they would see me immediately which was half an hour a way. Sat in the waiting room 45 minutes before giving up and leaving. AVOID them. They are clueless.

BEWARE- Rude Incompetent over several…

BEWARE- Rude Incompetent over several days. Waiting room filled with desperate people and myself with request by spinal physician waiting on MRI of my 100 year old mother. In pain she was required to hold position in MRI longer than needed and would not provide the CD in time for the appointment to schedule procedure that day. The staff was overworked, with a waiting room full of desperate people who did not know that the equipment at that facility was not working that day. I was told this was an issue and had to drive mother in pain to another location who had similar problems. Google this company to learn about their consistent problems and reports of poor service with focus on revenue.

THE HEIGHT OF IMCOMPETENCE.
The right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. Office employees all seem to be reading from the same script. Impossible to get results (diagnosis) of the CT I scan I underwent. Told results would be available in two to three days. Results still not available after six days. Obstructive, dumb, uncooperative bureaucratic process. Lots of standard, robotic apologies but no action. Will NEVER go back to Akumin. Lacks acumen.

As a manager of a Clinic

As a manager of a Clinic, akumin did not follow up when we attempted to use their services. Never made the appointments or followed up or communicated to us that they didn’t contact our patients. Not the first time we had issues with them. They shut down before, not surprised. Won’t attempt using them again

Reading is fundamental the audacity

The level of care in the medical field has gone down drastically over the years what happen to Communication within the work place the purpose of notating an account is for the next person to understand what’s going on my mom was rescheduled twice because of not having an authorization not requesting information in a timely manner before my 73 yr old mother appointment they stated they call an left a message however no one notated that they spoke to me an confirmed the appointment then I tried to assist on both occasions to get the information needed for the appointment so we wouldn’t be rescheduled everyone stated they only needed authorization but low an behold once we got there they needed doctor notes which I could have requested at the previous appointment that was rescheduled for today an still not seen because they still did not have authorization I requested to speak to the manager Brandy at the time she was in a meeting so her PET tech Sarah came out to speak to me which she was rude unprofessional over talked me while I was on the phone with the PCP office manager trying to get information to assist them I then canceled the next appointment because this would be the third one if you could not get it right on the first two tries then at this point they seem incompetent an at this point I left called back to speak to the manager Brandy which stated she will handle the situation an speak to her tech Sarah but her tone sounded so dismissive as if she really didn’t care an to get me off the phone because her staff notes stated they call left messages that the appointment was canceled but I guess there was no notes stating someone spoke to me an confirm the appointment as if I have nothing to do with my time but come to there office an lie about being confirmed my 73 yr old mother went with out food or water for 24 hrs to show up there just to tell me there’s no authorization they called an oh well basically like why medical staff needs do better be considerate of people time and listen because I’m pretty sure no one want to not eat prepare for a test or procedure just to not have it done I will never go back to Akumin for myself nor my elderly mother

then receptionist yelled at me when i asked why i was not informed.....

I Would Never Return!
The Front End staff, Poorly Organized, People almost stepping on People.
Poor Delegation of Authority, The wait area is *Dirty, Un-kept, Front Door Broken.
The Diagnostic Machines are Un-Clean | Dirty.
The Communication Seems Poor.. They do not have *Open MRI here!
I Arrived 1 Hour Early as requested by this place, I waited for an hour to visit the back end diagnostic area. 10:25AM they showed me the MRI machine that would scan me, They showed me the Large Plastic neck harness to Pin Me Down onto the Bed on Rails.
10:30AM I Turned Around and Walked Out!

Scheduled appt for x-rays

Scheduled appt for x-rays, person taking info had a foreign accent, some questions irrelevent EX: how many views on Lumbar and Pelvic films, there are only one film for these x-rays. Not knowledgeable in radiology. Said it would be tomarrow before they could perform my xrays. I asked "dont they still take walk-ins for xrays?" she then said they had a 10:10am appt today. It was 10:06am at that point and they wanted me there 15min early, and I told her I was 20 min away. Finally got an 11:10 appt.
Made appt signed in two min after a walk-in who told me she was a walk-in. They took first. Waited an hr after my scheduled appt to have my x-rays done. Receptionist told me radiology was performing all x-rays all mammograms today. Canadian company bought this company 3 years ago and nothing like it was before. 2 receptionists at the desk and had to wait 15 min to be checked in. 3 people including myself in the waiting room. 13 years of all my radiology exams performed here, I am going to get all my reports and films on discs so I can transfer care.
