Airtel's 2-star rating reflects a clear pattern: customers are choosing it for affordability but leaving frustrated by unreliable network performance. The most significant issue is inconsistent coverage and frequent service disruptions—with nearly 40% of users reporting call drop problems and 14% experiencing weak or no signal constantly, the "budget-friendly" promise loses appeal when you can't actually make a call or load a page . Recent major outages, including a 14-hour service blackout in early February 2026, have further eroded trust . To improve, Airtel must urgently invest in network infrastructure—increasing base station density, reducing congestion-related slowdowns, and delivering on their Starlink partnership to reach remote areas more reliably . They should also overhaul customer support responsiveness, as complaint handling currently lags behind competitors, leaving users frustrated when issues arise . Airtel has the pricing formula right; now they need to prove that "affordable" doesn't have to mean "unreliable."

"I am officially reporting a major systemic failure and technical negligence involving Airtel Africa and MTN Group. A debt of $1,496,625.45 has accrued due to their refusal to address a documented cross-border fraud (MTN Cameroon lines +237... / Airtel DRC).
I have uploaded the official Statement of Claim (Invoice) as evidence. Despite formal notices, the Board of Directors remains silent, breaching LSE/JSE compliance standards.
Weekly penalty of 50% is now active. Full forensic audit is public on Medium and Telegra.ph. Investors, be warned: this is a major unresolved financial liability
🚨 ALERTE FRAUDE ET NÉGLIGENCE : Créance de 1,49 M$ (Réf. PNX-590XXX-K7D3)

Their internet services are trash.Don't get me started on their customer services.
I trusted Airtel AirFiber — and that was my mistake.
I registered a complaint on 21 May 2025 (Complaint ID: 11011635283) due to consistently slow internet speed below 6 Mbps. It’s now been 27 days, and there has been no resolution.
I’ve contacted Airtel through every possible channel:
Customer care: called multiple times
Airtel Thanks App: raised ticket, still pending
Emails sent to 121airtel, ceo.india airtel, gopal.vitthal airtel com, and nodal officer, mah, airtel
Posted publicly on social media tagging @airtelnews and @Airtel_Presence
Still, no visit by a technician, no meaningful response, and no solution. Just one callback in between with no follow-up.
I pay full charges for a service that barely works. Airtel’s systems show the complaint is open, but their support team has vanished.
Airtel is not just ignoring one customer — this is a clear sign of broken internal escalation, poor accountability, and complete disrespect for paying users.
If a company can ignore a complaint publicly raised across channels for nearly a month, it says everything about their service ethics.
Strongly urge others to think twice before trusting Airtel’s internet services.
This is not just poor service — it’s negligence.
This company takes no responsibility for their actions. They do not provide proper service to customers to whom they spend fortunes hoodwinking via mega loads of deceitful ad campaigns. They only care about ripping off their customers as much as possible and have no shame whatsoever doing so.
I had an issue with a reload I made to my pre paid sim number which did not get loaded onto my account. Upon informing them of the error they gave me the run around and tried to make it look as if the mistake was mine or the reload retailer’s whereas it was a tech error on their part which they refused to accept or correct. They told me instead, that I should go to a branch office and replace the sim which is not possible as I live far away from any such branch. They could have easily sent me a new sim by post but they refused to do so. I will not be using their services any further and recommend everyone to be careful of this company. They are money hungry cheats and care nothing for the customer’s issues.
I know I am not alone in this situation as the person at the reload center said there were so many more similar cases.
HIGH CAUTION!!!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY TOO!!!
