Terrible check in woman at B16 gate to…
Terrible check in woman at B16 gate to Gatwick on BA on 27 May at 12.35, did not call seats in order so we then were at close to end of line even though Doris have been first then made us put our bags in the hold. She also refused to allow us to use BA loyalty card even though it says we should be able to use it. Worse worker ever, terrible BA and Malaga airport experience
Last night at the Malaga boarding gate
Last night at the Malaga boarding gate, the lady was very rude and impolite toward some passengers. She was checking that the bags were in the baggage checkout, which was, up to that point, in line with her duties. However, I must say that she was particularly provocative with one passenger, not letting him explain (the passenger didn't speak Spanish) and verbally attacking him in Spanish. I travel every week, and I've also worked in aviation, and I know for a fact that staff's first priority (both ground and cabin crew) is to defuse any situation of chaos and agitation, but unfortunately, that wasn't what I witnessed yesterday. I don't doubt that the passenger in question was traveling significantly "excess" with his baggage allowance, but raising tensions like that by threatening to leave the passenger stranded is not behavior I've seen at other airports. Furthermore, two other passengers had to pay excess baggage for ridiculous reasons. I myself, due to a purchase at the airport, had to hang a pair of shoes from my backpack (which was perfectly sized and fit the sizer), and I had to pay €50 for a pair of shoes. I understand the rules—the free bag must fit under the seat in front of me, and in fact it did fit as it has on all previous flights (I always use the same backpack), but you also have to have a modicum of flexibility and compromise between respecting the rules and understanding the situation, because the rules are already very strict, but we can't even make purchases at the airport this way. My bag fit under the seat, even with the shoes hanging. I couldn't even explain it, seeing the aggressive way the gate agent had already treated and threatened the previous passenger; I paid silently for fear of being attacked and left stranded. Because of this behavior, the flight departed late. I wonder if the goal is to meet the slot or to collect penalties.
Very poor and unsafe experience with…
Very poor and unsafe experience with mobility assistance at Málaga Airport. Assistance was pre-booked, yet we were left waiting on the plane, then told to get out of the wheelchair and walk despite reduced mobility. There was no clear communication, no coordination, and requests for a wheelchair were refused.
This resulted in significant pain and distress. This is not just poor service – it is a safety issue for disabled passengers. The airport needs to urgently review how assistance is managed.
⚠️ Warning
⚠️ Warning – avoid OK Mobility at Málaga Airport
I booked and prepaid a rental car online (50 days, €1,460) and selected their Fast Track service. According to the Fast Track terms, I only needed to show my booking, Spanish driving licence and payment card – no passport required.
At the counter, the staff still demanded my passport. When I pointed out that Fast Track clearly stated no passport was needed, they became uncertain and said they would "fix it" by creating a new Fast Track. I did so on the spot. Then a new problem suddenly appeared: the new Fast Track had been registered after the pickup time and was therefore invalid. The result: I was refused the car.
I had to drive home (about 45 minutes each way). Once home, I discovered my passport had been in another car. I picked it up the next day and returned to OK Mobility in the afternoon. There I was told the booking was now classified as "No Show" because I hadn't collected the car the previous evening – and that I would have to pay an additional €800 to get the car I had already paid €1,460 for.
The staff refused to help and referred me to head office, which is virtually impossible to reach. When I finally got through, I was offered a 10% discount on a future rental as "compensation" – for a problem caused entirely by their own mishandling.
Summary:
• Staff did not know the terms of their own Fast Track service.
• Their "solution" created a new problem that hurt me.
• I lost €1,460 without driving the car a single day.
• Customer service is unreachable and shows no real willingness to resolve issues.
I strongly recommend choosing another car rental company at Málaga Airport.
Walk walk walk
Walk walk walk, just cannot believe how far I walked, from the plane then queue for passport, only 20 min so good I thought after all the news, no travelator working.
Once through it seemed I walked the whole airport again to the car hire location.
The return journey journey once past check-in followed signs to security, only to be told to go back in opposite direction like hundreds of others and joined the queues.
Must admit the the passport gates were quick once though security.
If going back to Spain I would find a different airport, not impressed with car hire service either but that’s for another review.
All staff were very very rude
All staff were very very rude, angry towards us infront of children. Spoken to like dirt, not many staff spoke English. Took us 1.5 hours to get through security on arrival. No staff had a smile or their face so so busy and the drivers in the airport nearly knocked several people over
Rude Staff Disorganised
Unfortunately staff at this airport just aren’t friendly. It’s a shame because the whole area relies on tourism but yet this is the first impression that greats people. Some staff have great distain for the British which makes you wonder why they choose to work in a place surrounded by them. Passport control have no idea or choose to ignore rules surrounding British residents in Spain and stamp passports just for the fun of it. Staff in shops and restaurants greet customers with miserable faces. The entire idea of customer service does not exist in this place. Fail to see why anyone bothers to come and spend their hard earned cash in the area. The only thing they have going for them is the weather and that’s been questionable all winter.
If I could give 0 stars I would…
If I could give 0 stars I would absolute joke of an airport arrived 3 hours before flight had no check in bags went straight through security and through duty free came out of duty free to see the massive queue for passport control so decided to jump in the queue we waited over 2 hours called memebers of staff over to explain we where going to miss our flight and got told to wait like everyone else a lot of other passengers where getting frustrated but felt like they went slower just to prove a point. We missed our flight and had to pay extra for another flight the next morning. Will never return to Malaga airport again staff are extremely rude.
Total chaos
Total chaos! People missed their Ryanair flights today, we only just got it, but that was because we went to the front of the queue, then was told we had to log on the exit scan, I have a house in Malaga, this is the worst I have ever seen it,
So bad it was untrue, I hope it gets better!
Staff so helpful
Staff so helpful
Really quick through security and the assistance teams are brilliant
Quite easily the worst airport I have…
Quite easily the worst airport I have ever had to go through.
To get through passport control took so long , the latest arrival flight was sharing the same baggage conveyor belt as ours which landed nearly 90 minutes prior.
Staff are incredibly rude and did not appear to know how to deal with large amounts of non EU passengers. We were directed to go to one queue only to be told by an obnoxious man (Staff No27) that if we did not return to the back of the queue in a different area, the police would be called. Needless to say, passengers in the same queue were not happy and a police officer was brought round and we were all told to re-queue.
Travellers need to be aware that this place will add nearly 2 hours from plane to coach/taxi.
AWFUL !!!!
As a seasoned traveler this is the…
As a seasoned traveler this is the worst for delays with passport control
Only 2 members of staff and children are victimized by being made to wait longer. A very poor impression for visitors entering Spain.
Not staffed to cope with EIS
Very badly organised - and a poor attitude to customers. We arrived around 10.30am between Christmas and New Year. There were plenty of the new EIS scanners, but the fingerprint scanners didn't work - so we were directed to passport kiosks. Of 8 kiosks, only 2 were staffed!!!! Enormous queues got longer, but despite this other passport staff stood around chatting. Coming home, only 1 of 6 Passport kiosks, was staffed. This is very poor - they have known about EIS for a long time but have not staffed appropriately
Is it efficient to let travellers wait for an hour for passport check in this modern world?
There was a long queue in passport control and we were already 30 mins in the queue, which was moving terribly slowly. Then I tried to find a way to seek help from a custom staff and suddenly a security lady stopped me and was very rude to me. She didn't listen to my concern about the long queue that might hinder my boarding. I estimated the queuing time and I tried to explain to her that my flight departure time was in 15 mins and she said rudely to me that "you have to wait", not even listened to a single word from me. Then 10 mins later, a man in yellow jacket shouted for passengers heading to Bristol. Then a few of us moved forward and he helped us to move to the front of the queue to go through the passport check. After that, we and other passengers ran to the gate. This is the worst experience we have ever had in an airport.
Prácticas indignantes
Prácticas indignantes, retirada fraudulenta de dinero de la garantía en Nizacars Málaga. Débito de 320 € sin firma ni cotización, con el silencio cómplice de @DoYouSpain. Caso n.º DYS195052547. El silencio no borra la estafa.

Awful passport control hour plus wait
Awful passport control hour plus wait. Put me off travelling to Malaga again.
Then 45 minutes queue to board plane also disgraceful
( easyJet). We’ve missed our slot to take off 15 minutes ago. Plane still boarding only half full. Probably still stuck in passport control queue.

WORST AIRPORT
Absolutely shocking!!!! The electronic passport control is pathetic and everyone queuing up. If you’re not ready for the electronic service…switch it off and employ more human beings!
Unsatisfactory service at Malaga airport
This morning we arrived at Malaga Airport, I’d previously seen the photos and the queues on social media regarding the waiting times and the total disorganisation by staff for non EU passengers (brits especially) being ‘Guinea pigs’ for their new system which is clearly failing, as the proof was a backlog of Paying Customers (your much needed Tourists) hours of queuing after a 3 hrs delayed flight from Birmingham, many people tired and frustrated at the lack of organisation and nastiness from Malaga airport Staff..many Brits in that queue were saying they are planning to bycott Malaga now as this experience is appalling, we won’t be back either, plenty of other places to go on holiday..
