Stay away from Air France
I had two flights cancelled on the same day. I was refunded granted. The airport is an absolute disgrace, no one helps or gives a damn about you. Just shoulder shrugs. Then my flight last night was delayed for weather, that’s fine, the flight then departed, flying a rhumb line track instead of a great circle, no explanation at all, flight was 2 hours longer for no apparent or explained reason. I will NEVER fly with this excuse of an airline again. Customer service is the worst I have ever experienced.
Far and away the worst airline I’ve…
Far and away the worst airline I’ve dealt with. They are consistently horrible with bookings. I booked a flight with half point and half cash and they couldn’t issue my ticket. They then couldn’t cancel because neither point nor cash group would take ownership. The food is really bad. So disappointing for a flagship company that has incredible food. Truly a poor representation of French culture. On the flight I’m on now they have 1 option of random seafood for the meal on a 13.5 hour flight.

Most terrible and trash air company ever, first there are dont like American people and there are very rude and recist !!!
Extraordinarily poor service
I often try to avoid mentioning race in a review, but I think it is key in this instance. Because the outcome would have probably been different had the races been the same.
Your right ends where another one's begins... unless you are a white woman on an Air France flight. Then your right supercedes that of another fare-paying black woman, and her pleas will not get considered because the cabin crew are predisposed to listen to the cries of the "pregnant white lady" than the black woman begging to be heard.
That is what happened to my mom.
Her, my dad and I were flying from South Africa to Paris on the night of Wednesday, 24 June 2026 when the white lady in front of my mom reclined her seat. The seats recline surprisingly far back and the way this lady reclined hers, the screen was basically to my mom's face. Standing up would have also been an issue. So my mom asked her to move it a little forward because she gets vertigo if she sleeps in a reclined position during a flight. So she sleeps with her elbows on the food tray and head in her hands, which she would not be able to do in this instance because of how far back the white lady had reclined her seat.
Now, instead of being a compassionate human being who is considerate of another's request, this lady decides she will not do it, calls for the cabin crew while my mom is still trying to reason with her, and explains her side of the story to the guy who comes. Then he, instead of allowing my mom to tell her side of the story too, keeps interjecting her then tells her that the white woman was within her right and my mom also had a right to recline her seat. This white lady even had the audacity to lie and say that my mom was hitting her chair, which this crew member immediately believed and reprimanded my mom on. Again, he did not ask my mom. He just believed the white woman despite my mom saying repeatedly that she did no such thing.
I wish I could have recorded how dismissive he was of my mom througout the whole exchange. It was like watching someone who had no patience for something someone else was saying trying to pretend to care, and failing dismally. But they explicitly tell you to "use your phone discreetly so as to not disturb other passengers" and this includes taking pictures or recordings. I think they know this is how they treat their black customers and if you cannot record, they cannot get bad publicity because there is no undeniable proof.
After doing absolutely nothing to resolve the issue, he whispers to my mom that the white lady is pregnant. Like that is meant to make everything better or make my mom forego asking to be considered. Like this white lady is the first woman in the world to be in the family way. Like pregnancy gives someone the right to throw humanity out the door and show no consideration for another person's unease. When my mom continues to state her case despite this "secret" he just shared, he then goes and calls their head who comes and utters the same biased rubbish to my mom without giving a solution. Because according to them, it's a problem to my mom, but they see no problem with it. Basically saying that one passenger's discomfort is outweighed by another depending on the colour of their skin.
My mom always sits on the aisle seat because she does not want to inconvenience people with the number of trips she takes to the bathroom. Thankfully, the young white man sitting next to her saw her plight and offered to swap seats with her. Mind you, I am not even sure he understood French because he spoke English (American) throughout, but even he could see what was going on. And that the cabin crew was not going to resolve it.
When my mom explained she would be a disturbance to him, he was so understanding and just told her to tap him on the shoulder when she needed to go. He found a solution when the cabin crew had no inclination of finding one. When they had zero desire to find a way to make the trip bearable for all its passengers. And the cherry on top? The white lady adjusted her seat slightly when this young man came to sit behind her. If that does not make her race issue obvious, I have no idea what will.
To the young white man, I pray all the good things in life locate you and may you never lack for anything. May the kindess you have shown a poor old lady in distress be returned to you a thousandfold for many generations to come. To the pregnant white lady, I pray the heart of stone you currently have is swapped for a heart of flesh so compassion can have a fighting chance in there. Especially with a child on the way. To the two Air France cabin crew members, I pray you never experience what it feels like to fight for your right to be comfortable, and it be a losing battle. But karma does have everyone's address. And to Air France, train your staff on how to solve problems and resolve conflicts.
5 Stars Airline
6/25/26 AF0090 CDG to MIA
Karine etait très gentile, serviable, aimable, polie, souriante, superbe et exceptionelle. She offered us everything from water, champagne, wine and cognac. She was still smiling despite the long trip from Paris to Miami. We enjoyed both the tea and the coffee. We were a group of 6 traveling from an international convention from Douala Cameroon. Il faut cloner Karine pour un service 5 étoiles sur chaque vol.
If 0 stars was an option
If 0 stars was an option, that would be perfect for Air France. If it wasn’t for the uncomfortable flights with the awful legroom space, it’s for the staffs attitude and lack of help. We flew from Boston to Paris, we were due to get a connection flight to Amsterdam and had 90 mins to catch this. The staff at CDG airport were awful, didn’t help at all and were aggressive. We missed our flight, had to stay in Paris for the night and fly to Edinburgh instead, 3 hours away from our home.
Horrendous experience
Awful service
Awful service. Booked Lie-Flat Business Class service through Delta. The boarding process was chaotic, with 3 separate 20 - 30 minute delays after they called us for boarding. They lumped section 1 (business class) with section 2 (comfort) for boarding, so there was a huge line of business and comfort class people in a mixed bag. The onboard service was rote. Cold, dry towelettes offered instead of warm, moist towelettes. Cold food had ice crystals in it, still frozen. Hot food was lukewarm. The paint on the metal console of my seat was badly chipped off and unsightly. The priority tag fell off my bag, and my bag was among the last 5 to reach the baggage carousel after 30 minutes. Customs in Paris on the outbound flight was a nightmare - as "Sky Priority" we were coralled to a long line with just 2 immigration officers, while eveyone else could access the mulitple machines. Nothing special about this service except the price tag. I have flown AF to Paris in business class multiple times over the years, and this was the worst service all the way around that I have ever had. Not worth it.

I’ve been in Berlin Germany without my bag for 2 days. I leave in a day and have had to buy clothes to supplement. I DO NOT recommend this airline
Denied boarding due to overbooking
Denied boarding due to overbooking. Air France confirmed in writing we were entitled to EC 261/2004 compensation. Nine months later, after endless document requests and changing requirements, they simply closed the case claiming they never received anything. Do not expect Air France to honour your passenger rights voluntarily.
SCAM AIRLINE
Air France is the worst airline I have ever travelled on, it is a high cost airline acting like it is Ryanair- I have never in my life been screwed over more by an airline, I swore I would stop using them in 2021 but unfortunately could not find another flight. When I arrived at the airport, for my flight I have paid nearly 800 euros for I was made to weigh my carry on and hand luggage. Never in my years of flying even with previous flights with Air France have I been asked to weigh hand luggage for an international flight. Their customer service laughed at me when I said I was upset I have to pay 70 additional euros and check a bag I do not want to check because I do not trust their system because it was 2 kilos overweight. I begged the customer service to help me get my bag on the flight and they were consistently unhelpful and rude. They offered no solution and charged me. I never will fly with this airline again. It is a scam worse than Transavia, Ryanair, frenchbee or easyJet at least their base fare is cheap and they have nice customer service. Another passenger with a bag that was a couple kilos overweight almost missed his flight because they refused him at the boarding gate and made him wait to weigh his bag and pay to check it. Disgusting excuse of an airline. They also never refunded me for a flight they cancelled in Covid for 300 euros.
They lost our luggage
They lost our luggage, we've been following up with them over and over. The total loss is about $2750 and they sent us $100 even though we gave them all of our documents multiple time thru their website and email. I will be taking them to small claims court.
Terrible service at CDG Airport
Terrible service at CDG Airport. There was no weight check in SFO, but they were extremely strict about carry-on weight in Paris. I was late because of this and ended up running to the gate, only to find that the flight was delayed and the information was posted only at the gate. No heads-up at all.The ticket didn't include checked baggage, and the carry-on allowance was only 12 kg total, including a personal item. At least half a dozen passengers ran into the same issue.
48-Hour Nightmare in Paris: Cancelled Flight, Lost Luggage, and Zero Communication
an extremely disappointing experience with Air France during my journey from Rio de Janeiro to Egypt via Paris.
After a 10-hour flight from Rio to Paris, when we landed to paris heading to our connecting flight to Egypt, only to be informed once we came of the plane that the flight to Egypt had been cancelled. We were taken back to the terminal and told that arrangements would be made while we waited for the next available flight.
Unfortunately, the conditions provided for stranded passengers were completely unacceptable. The waiting area was not a waiting area it was like an abonded hospital, uncomfortable, and inadequate for the large number of people affected. After already spending many hours travelling, we were left in conditions that felt more like a detention area than an airport waiting facility.
What was even more frustrating was the lack of communication. For nearly 48 hours, neither I nor many other passengers received clear information about when we would be rebooked. During this time, we had no proper seating, no access to shower facilities, and no suitable place to rest. Many passengers were forced to sit or sleep on the floor while waiting for updates.
After almost 48 hours, replacement flights were finally arranged. However, upon arriving in Egypt, I discovered that my luggage had not arrived. Air France informed me that they were unable to locate it and that it might arrive later.
The situation was particularly serious because my luggage contained essential medication for my 62-year-old father. The delay in receiving these medications has caused significant stress and concern for our family.
The combination of the flight cancellation, the 48-hour delay, the poor treatment of passengers, the lack of communication, and the mishandling of baggage made this one of the worst travel experiences I have ever had. I expected much better from Air France and cannot recommend the airline based on this experience
Incompetence at its Finest
I am only giving this 1 star because I cannot select ‘0’ as an option. I have never experienced worse customer service for a lost bag that I have on this trip with this company. I flew out last Thursday, it is now Sunday, and the bag didn’t make it. While things like this happen, normally there is updated tracking available at every step of the way and the airline gets the bag to you asap. Usually the next day if the bag is found.
They knew where my bag was the whole time and the partner Airline, Delta (always amazing) put it on a flight the same night of my arrival. But from there, there was nothing. No communication. Nothing via email, text, or from the phone rep. They basically told me they don’t know where it is or when it would get to me. Okay, well I have a film project Sunday night and I need things from my checked bag that couldn’t be put in a carry-on. Delta sent the bag on Friday. Where is it? Told me there is nothing they can do and that I need to be patient. Seriously? An hour later I get my first text communication stating it had been located and would be put on the next available flight. Cool. Bag should arrive tomorrow.
Now we are on Sunday, the day of my project, and I wake up to no update. I call Air France again. She tells me it was out on a plane to CDC in Paris that landed at 8:45 a.m., but they have no further information. Told me to call back. I call back at 3:00p.m. because my project starts at 8:00p.m. and the bag should have been here yesterday. Get another agent. He tells me there’s no confirmation that my bag is at CDC. The flight landed at 8:45 a.m. and there is no update at 3:00p.m. He told me to “be patient” and that I can buy essentials and claim them. Really? They gave me a $100 I could claim, which doesn’t even touch the cost of the items I need that I simply cannot even find in Paris on the weekend.
So I don’t have what I need for my film project, they have not had any clue how to communicate updates nor actually given any real updates, and he tells me to be patient and to buy my essentials as there is nothing they can do. Really? You have nobody you can call at the CDC airport to check on the bag? Not one staff member there that looks after missing baggage?
So the upshot is that I’m screwed and Air France does not care. What a pathetically incompetent company.
I wish I could give ZERO stars
I wish I could give ZERO stars. Their customer service simply does not care. They cancelled our return flight from Africa to Houston with no notice and have not been helpful in rebooking the flight. The only option they gave us put families on separate flights and separated young children from their parents. This is a horrible airline. Do yourself a favor and fly with another airline. Just look at the reviews. They do not care about their customers.
Very bad experience
Very bad experience, avoid them. They don’t want to refund the money and keep sending you from one place to another
Air France removed me from a flight
On 1 May 2026, travelling from New Delhi to Porto via Paris CDG, I arrived in time for my connection. Instead of helping me reach the gate, Air France staff stopped me, issued a boarding pass for the following day and sent me to an hotel without any clear explanation.
There was poor communication and no proper English support. As I do not speak French, I was left confused and without assistance.
At the hotel, I discovered that my flight had not been cancelled, only delayed, and that I was not entitled to stay at the hotel. After a long-haul journey, in a state of extreme physical exhaustion, I had to return alone to the airport. There I was informed that my name had been removed from the flight. Only after intervention was I rebooked onto the very same flight at the last minute, with my original seat already reassigned.
The flight departed that evening, proving I should never have been removed from it in the first place.
Air France later rejected my complaint by simply citing "weather conditions", without addressing the operational failures, lack of assistance and distress caused.
I expected much better from a major international airline.
My 4th flight with Air France and it's…
My 4th flight with Air France and it's catastrophic, even though I'm flying first class, delays, lack of consideration.
Air France lost the luggage during…
Air France lost the luggage during layover in Paris in December 2025. The luggage never arrived to final destination nor was it ever returned to my country of origin.
The value of lost clothes and other items was well over 2000 euros but I didn't have tickets (who does?).
Six months, numerous automatic messages and useless phone calls later the compensation was payed today: 269 euros. If this is legal it is legalized theft. #### you.
