I always appreciate DFDS, especially for the comfortable lounges and the friendliness of the staff.
Was good better than Irish ferry
A wonderful crossing. The ship was modern, crew excellent
Slow due to customs.rude French women collecting tickets did not acknowledging I have a RHD Motorhome and deliberately kept me waiting.
Arrived at 18.30 for a 20.01 ferry and ended up in a 3 hour queue with people pushing in using the lorry lanes. We were offered the 22.45 ferry rather than the 20.01 or 21.20 but we're told if we got through the queue for passport control we could get on the 21.20. We followed to the 21.20 lane and were told we couldn't go on and would need to wait. They allowed us on once all the 21.20 people were on but it was incredibly stressful and the boat was very crowded. The whole experience was very unnecessarily stressful
A good crossing but DFDS and Calais port do not make it easy for cyclists, stuck in the long wait for tickets, passports etc between cars pumping out exhaust
Mixed experience. The ferry itself was fine, but it was impossible to board on time, even arriving more than an hour beforehand as recommended. The queues to get through the port made the timing impossible. I might revert back to using LeShuttle if Calais can't get itself better organised.
Been 3 hours early and without any problems or cost was boarded for earlier ferry. Nice and smooth on time as per schedule. Last few years travel with train but ferry is much better option especially if you want use a brake for food and shopping at same time as crossing. Price 3 times cheaper. Kids love play ground area and views
The ferry service itself was good, and overall we had a positive experience travelling with you. However, I strongly disagree with the pricing policy. It is disappointing that when demand increases and more people are expected to travel, the prices can increase to more than double. This feels unfair to families and ordinary passengers who have to travel on busy dates and have no choice but to pay the much higher price. I understand that prices can vary depending on demand, but increasing them by more than 100% during busy periods seems excessive. Travellers should not feel penalised simply because they need to travel when everyone else is travelling. I hope the company will reconsider this policy and offer more reasonable and transparent pricing, especially for families and passengers travelling during peak periods.
Quality of food/size for this price is one big joke! Why?!! Do they only speak French? Do they feel special when, even though most people ask in English, they reply in their own language anyway—or simply don't understand? Doesn't that border on discrimination against other nationalities? I'd say so!
So much better than using Le Shuttle on the way out. On time and overall much quicker than the shambolic outward bound crossing on the train.
Good service

Lovely friendly staff. Comfy seats, clean windows to enjoy the view. More plug sockets would be helpful.
