My journey with the Royal Aeronautical Society
I started my journey with the Royal Aeronautical Society on 10th February 2022, by applying for full membership of the society via their MRA process.
This was done by firstly creating an account with the UK parent organisation, uploading all of my professional certifications and a copy of my CV focused on aeronautics and aerospace experience and achievements.
At the end of the application I needed to pay the application fee, which I did with a credit card. Within 9 days full membership was confirmed with a unique membership number, which enabled me to then log back into the Royal Aeronautical Society members site to apply for registration as a Chartered Engineer via their MRA stream and start the process to upgrade my membership to Fellow of the Society.
I did experience some issues in uploading documents to the Royal Aeronautical Society Membership site at this point, so I decided to email all of my Chartered Registration documents instead to their 'registration' email address on the 22nd February 2022.
On the 2nd March my Chartered Registration application was sent by the Royal Aeronautical Society to my current professional body for verification of my Chartered Registration status. This confirmation was received on the 13th April 2022.
My Chartered Registration was then submitted to the Registration committee on 18th May 2022 and was approved. My membership portal was updated with 'Chartered Registration approved' within a week and payment was made for registration. Once payment was made, confirmation was obtained that my Chartered Registration application had been uploaded to the UK Engineering Council Internet Site and that I would receive my Chartered Registration welcome pack from the UK Engineering Council within a week or so.
So within 4 months both full Membership and Chartered Registration via the MRA stream of the Royal Aeronautical Society had been accomplished!
