Literally the worst airport
Literally the worst airport I've visited in Europe. I'd give it 1 star but at least the electrical outlets were there and they worked. Other than that, not much positive things to say about it.
Keep in mind that there aren't many spots to sit down once you pass the security point.
The other reviews don’t exaggerate
Currently standing in this airport and there is no getting away from the fact this is the worst airport I’ve ever visited.
The disorganisation is on another level, there is no queue system there is not enough staff to deal with the volumes and it just isn’t worth the money saved to travel through here. It ends your holiday on a nightmare experience.
You stand for hours in queues, stand for hours to have your passport checked and when you get to the other side, you can sit on the dirty floor or continue to stand.
Just awful.
Beauvais airport is THE most awful…
Beauvais airport is THE most awful airport I've had the misfortune to experience. I've travelled lots and even Lagos airport is more organised and friendly. I am not exaggerating...but I never want to go to France ever again. They're rude (airport staff/police in passport control) and have absolutely no regard for passengers, their contempt is clearly visible. If I could give a minus star I would!
Postscript.
My son is a fishing addict. He travelled with two fishing reels. Security wanted to confiscate them - so in order to keep them he had to take the fishing line off both reels before they allowed him to travel. GUBU!!!!! GROTESQUE, UNBELIEVABLE, BIZZARE, UNPRECEDENTED.
A PLACE WHERE HUMANITY IS LOST
THIS AIRPORT DOES NOT STOP AMAZE ME. Every time me or my family members have to fly through this airport they face discriminating, rude behavior from the staff. I do not understand, whether this airport's employees are so depressed they hate everyone around or it is simply the "cultural" thing and part of the "french" experience, that supposed to charm us :) either way, fix that, cuz you going nowhere. Let me give you an overview of few situations, that I cannot let be silent about this airport's employees and whatever policies they have on how to treat prople.
Few month ago My mother with her grandchild was traveling through beauvais, due to accidents on metro line and traffic, as well as rescheduled flights from the previous day to the current one, they not only were late to take a bus to the airport, but also had to be stuck in long waiting queus with toher rushing people JUST FOR THE BUS. They arrived 10 minutes before the check-in closing (they had already online check-in done), but the desk emoplyee didn't allow anymore for them to give away their register luggage claiming it was closed, eventhough their flight was delayed 1 hour and they still had plenty fo time until that. Because desk employee did not let her give away register luggage, she was not able to go through security check, basically they blocked her from proceeding to board the plane, she was easily able to still fly with, as it was not even landed yet or being packed with luggage. Instead the desk employee offered her the only other choice, to book new flight tickets to another flight with same direction same day, that was leaving only 10 minutes after her original flight, but it's check-in was still open. The tickets was Wizzair airline 250 euro each (500 in total) plus the registered luggage. If this is not a sca, I don't know what it is. Not mentioning, all the emotional stress she and her grandchild ( 7 y.) faced and how ignorant and cold they were to them.
Another flight my mother had today with my two children from Beauvais and she comes with plenty of time ahead, goes to check-in and the woman working at a desk starts telling her, that her carry-on luggage is too big and won't fit inside the cabin. Eventhough my mother assured, it will fit, because she always fly with it and it is according to Ryanair measurements, the employee insist, that she is wrong and asks to put it to the measurement frame of the Ryanair and of course the luggage fits in easily :). but instead of acting like a decent human being the employee drops a passive aggressive line "you got lucky this time" and smiles. Facts are not luck :), but for this airport's employees it seems like it is always an attempt to drain more money from the travellers and it is so disgusting how they target elder foreigner woman with children. like what is wrong with you people?
The worst is that today's experience of my mother was not over here. When passing through security line, one employee rudely told her to go to the main line, because "she is not disabled" and priority line is for people with disassibilities. Few mintues after, another security guard saw her standing with two small children and two hand luggages in a main line and told her to go to a priority line.
When boarding, she had priority ticket for herself and one of the children, but the other one had a regular ticket. While yes, priority line is for tickets with a priority, but at this point it is simply a choice of being humane. She already paid for two passengers a priority, it is not going to hurt to let her go through the priority line with one another child who has not priority, it is just a child, at last, she is travelling with kids, lots of luggage, the least you could do is be understanding. I really never had such an attitude from employees in other airports, and I travel a lot with my child and without. Most of the time they are flexible and understanding and it does not change anything when the 2 out of 3 passengers have priority and 1 doesn't to elt them go through. But yes, we got the message of the cheap airline - the shi**y attitude is included in the price.
It is clear that how to treat passengers, overall other people is simply a choice. It does not hurt to be nice for most of the people on this planet, but sadly, for some it seems to be really hard to be decent human beings and just treat others with respect. I really suggest Beauvais airport to start strongly review all the reviews on all these platforms and what people say about the experience in your airport, because it is clear, that you are making some bad choices and it does not help for anyone. Whatever internal problems you may have, it is not the responsibility of the customers to carry the weight of it.
1 star is way too good rating for this airport.
Terrible the security controls, rude staff
Terrible the security controls taking forever, not organized, staff rude.
Awful!!!!!!
Awful!!!!!!
We have been kicked out of the airport as the security people said it's closed (23:25).
No one said what time is open. 3:22 we are still in front of the airport without any information regarding the hour
Absolutely filthy place
Absolutely filthy place, not enough seating, nowhere to charge phones, overcrowded, chaotic. The worst airport I've ever visited.
Strongly advise everyone to avoid this…
Strongly advise everyone to avoid this airport. They have outdated rules from 2010 and the staff are being rude every chance they get. Never coming here back again. They have ruined my France experience, merci beaucoup.
Good experience
Good experience! Staff were really helpful, polite and happy to help everyone. Aerobus services was great too, loved the system about how they operate the shuttle buses from the airport to Paris.
Terrible organisation and queues
Terrible organisation and queues. Stood up for over 2 hours. Staff confused and some really trying but others given up. Staff told us it was like this all the time, today not an exception. Would pay money to NOT use this airport. Don't be conned by Ryanair prices. Go to CDG and have a happy, clean, none stressful experience.
do not buy tickets at this airport
it's an airport that looks like they're paying us, not us paying plane tickets. it is dirty, they have very few places to sit down. very disorganized. it's a very bad experience and I hope it won't happen again.
Awful airport
Awful airport. Very small, unorganised, rude staff. Massive queue for security which made sense when we finally got to the front as there was one staff member on both sides of the scanners and she kept getting up every few minutes to walk around and chat to people. I had to wait a good 5 minutes for my second tray to come through as she was just walking around and talking to everyone she saw.
2 different staff members checked my passport and boarding pass in the security queue despite needing to scan it to get through the gates. Then it was checked again by the scanning security staff then when we went through to the boarding area we had to pass through a passport control box to be checked and stamped again. Then again when we joined the boarding queue ( at this point the staff member stuck a blue sticker on my phone and said this is to say you don’t have to show your passport again, which was was a lie and completely pointless ) then it was checked again by 2 separate rude and aggressive boarder police staff at the front of the line who asked why i was in Paris ( bit late to ask me now I’m literally on my way to the plane home they didn’t ask me anything when I arrived) and again what was I carrying in the bag. Then finally had to show and scan it at the exit gate. Nothing wrong with a bit of extra security and I had nothing to hide but it did get pretty irritating by the 9th time and surely they can make better use of the staff then constant duplicating security checks. At one point I noticed an unattended bag left under a chair in the terminal but couldn’t find any staff to inform as they were all too busy checking and doubling checking peoples boarding passes and passports every 2 minutes.
The terminal and boarding area was very small with barely anything in there and they had you lined up outside for ages waiting to get on the plane like you were waiting at a bus stop. It’s a nightmare to get into central Paris. The shuttle bus is badly organised and unreliable and the last train got cancelled after we had been sat on it in the station for 20 minutes. It ended up taking us 3 hours to get back to Beauvais. Avoid at all cost and pay extra to fly straight into Paris. Not worth the hassle
Worse airport I experienced
Worse airport I experienced, so badly managed with queuing going out the terminal for security and only moderate volume. Can only imagine the chaos when it’s really busy during the Olympics !! Stay away, worth paying a little more for the main ones ..
More Bus Station
Very good as a bus station. I wouldn't recommend using here with children as you will be queuing for an hour if not more because that's how they operate. Security is incredibly anal and gave me the impression they were deliberately taking their time i.e. Putting every item into one tray, where as usually my phone, tablet, jacket, sunglasses would be put into one not four. After queing for nearly an hour I noticed staff ignoring one and other often and some standing doing nothing. You basically wait in an annex for your flight. Not clean and toilets are pretty none existent but that was a regular theme in Paris. If you want to save money then you definitely get what you pay for here.
This is the worst airport I have ever…
This is the worst airport I have ever been to in my life. It is so poorly managed and there is no organization whatsoever. The security line is a literal free for all with no organized queue and people pushing through each other left and right. The queue did not move and after about 40 minutes of not moving an inch, the airport workers started calling out different flights and those people would push through to the front so they wouldn’t miss their flight. This process continued as the chaos did as well. After getting to the airport 2 1/2 hours before our flight, we barely made it onto the plane before it took off because of how long security took. They insisted on going through all of our bags in security with no explanation of why, dumping the entire contents of our bags, clothes and all, into the dirty airport bins before shoving them to the side. The bathrooms were also a disaster, the floors covered in water and urine. Do not ever go to this airport. Fly into any other airport in Paris and spend the extra money, and even if this is your last resort I still wouldn’t fly in here.
The Horror
If you’re into 70s style retro airport management techniques then look no further, Beauvais Airport is the place for you! Enjoy the queues that move at the pace of an escargot. Delight in it taking so long that people who are about to miss their flights all get moved up ahead of you, despite them arriving ‘3 hours ago’. Wonder with amazement at the 2 border control who like to take a breather every few minutes to have a chat, or maybe look at their phones or perhaps even get up for a wee wander about for no apparent reason.
Once/if, you do get through security, you can treat yourself to a visit to the portacabin loos, you’ll appreciate the retro style ‘no toilet seat’ and ‘zero loo paper’ approach to saving the environment. That is of course, if you’re able to open your eyes caused by the burning sensation of urea, to see where to go to pee (clearly many people couldn’t open their eyes and just let rip where they stood!)
Yes - Beauvais Airport, a true kickback to the glorious days of mismanagement, chaos, incompetence and neglect. Book your flight there today to enjoy a complete omnishambles of misery.
Or - NEVER EVER (underline, bold, italics) fly through this airport! If it’s the only flight to Paris you can get then go by rail, or just don’t go at all. Go to Germany or Spain or Swaziland instead, just DO NOT go to Beauvais airport.
You have been warned. If you go after reading this and all the other reviews, then you deserve what you get. Bon voyage!
Absolutely terrible airport
Absolutely terrible airport. Needless queuing. Two passport control officers for many different flights. Absolutely awful and totally unnecessary. Will never use this airport again.
Absolutely nightmare of an airport
In my 38 years of travelling across the world .... Absolutely hands down the worse airport EVER!! Queues are insane and there is zero organisation, getting through security, complete nightmare! Would give it zero stars if I could. Pay a bit more and use one of the other airports.
This airport is one of thé cheapest one…
This airport is one of thé cheapest one Can imagine . It is better to avoid . France could better for her own image. As a french proud of m'y country i deeply regret such an airport. Run away.
