Serious attribution, billing, and support issues — not business-grade
We had a poor experience with addShoppers / SafeOpt, primarily around billing transparency, attribution methodology, and support responsiveness.
We received an invoice for $1,139.34 without having clear access to invoices in the dashboard. Invoices are not visible in the account, and we were repeatedly told to email support just to obtain basic billing documentation. Multiple emails went unanswered.
More importantly, we formally disputed the charges because SafeOpt failed to provide auditable, order-level attribution data to justify the billed conversions. Several orders included in the invoice were already attributed to third-party affiliate networks (AWIN / ShareASale) with commissions paid, or clearly showed last-touch attribution in Shopify as our owned Klaviyo email campaigns or direct/third-party referrals (for example, traffic originating from womenshealthmag.com).
Despite repeated written requests, SafeOpt did not provide:
Click timestamps (date/time)
Destination URLs / landing pages
Attribution identifiers used to match clicks to Shopify orders
Any confirmation of deduplication or attribution priority when another channel closed the sale
The response we received was essentially “trust-based” click-through attribution within a 30-day window, without supporting evidence. That is not an acceptable billing standard for a performance-based service, especially when it risks double-charging against other paid channels.
We also requested formal cancellation of the service and confirmation that no future charges would occur, but communication stalled during the dispute process, and no clear written cancellation confirmation was provided.
In short:
Poor billing transparency
No verifiable attribution proof
Risk of double-commissioning
Invoices not accessible in-platform
Slow or ineffective human support during disputes
This service may not be suitable for businesses that require clear incrementality, attribution accuracy, and accountable support. Until these issues are addressed, we cannot recommend AddShoppers / SafeOpt.
