Power failure

I returned home to find there was no power to the house. I rang the help line and the problem was diagnosed as a wire supplying power had come away. The linesmen came and assessed how to fix the problem as they needed scaffolding to go up an old wooden pole. When it got dark I took to my warm bed while they worked to fix the problem. Power back on before 10pm. Thank you so much for the help above and beyond.

Great plans and payment options

The only local energy provider to put their prices DOWN this year! We're on a dual fuel gas and electricity plan with a decent discount, and we do easy fortnightly installments through their EvenPay option.

Rates are not transparent and better deals out there.

I was with ActewAGL from over 10 years. It was on a flat rate and no peak off peak rate. Then my meter is changed to a "Smart" meter as part of home renovation. Since then I was getting charged thing called "Demand Charge". Which is basically double charging the daily supply charge. Also they didn't mentioned anything about that when I changed the meter. As soon as I found out from the bill, I changed to another retailer who have flat rates without this double charges.
Then in 2022, I got a call from a company called Energy Deal Pty Ltd who asked me to change to ActewAGL as they have better deal. Long story short, I was converted to ActewAGL on May 31 but strangely I was not given any tariff details from ActewAGL. I was supposed to have 10 days cooling off period to switch back to my previous retailer if I do not like the tariff. However ActewAGL send me an email on 14th June with all the details of the tariff, which is nowhere near the tariffs I was promised by Energy Deal Pty Ltd. When I rang ActewAGL they told me that they can't do anything about it and I have to talk to my previous retailer to switch back as it is gone pass 10 days.
Now I lost my good energy deal I had with my previous retailer and spend some time to find a better deal.
This tells me bad business practices from ActewAGL and not taking care of their customers.
