Easy to set up
Easy to set up. Access is great with app and security is brilliant as each unit is alarmed. Building and grounds are clean and tidy and the staff are extremely helpful.

Insurance blackmail…
There was the mention of optional insurance on booking portal with a default value of 1 K insurance value.
However after paying I was forced to face a 5K insurance for 30 pound/month. When I pointed to unethical sale, it was dropped to 15 pound with 2 K valuation, still higher than the default in portal. That is a blackmail which I will escalate.
In other words they asked for 30 pound surcharge for 75 pound rent.

They were kind to give a reply and if insurance is a must, that must be resolved during booking phase. When you book you should know your final cost per period. It is an open ended agreement with direct debit.

While we offer optional cover through Access, you're welcome to use your own policy, provided it offers appropriate protection. In certain cases, we may need to review the policy to ensure it meets the necessary standards for coverage.
In your case, the insurance value and cost were adjusted as part of our student deal, allowing us to offer a lower rate while maintaining suitable protection for your belongings.
We do appreciate your concerns and hope that as your experience continues, we can show you the value and reliability of our service. Hopefully, we’ll earn that 5-star review in the end—we’ll do our best to prove we’re worth it!

Not 24hour access unless preauthorised - and at some point, chargeable
I went along on a Sunday afternoon, 4.15pm, just outside of their office hours, with some stuff to add to my storage unit in Guildford. The system denied me access.
I phoned, emailed and went back first thing Monday. The system was down so they couldn’t tell me why I hadn’t been given access.
I have now received an email from the manager saying that I was denied access because I hadn’t emailed to request out of hours access! I was not aware that I had to get this pre authorised. I have accessed my unit several times before, out of office hours, with no problem.
They now say each out of office hours visit has to be pre authorised prior to 3pm, and is free at present but will at some point be charged for!
I’d strongly advise that you avoid the very inappropriately named Access Storage service.
I note another reviewer on here was also not aware that it was not 24 hour access as advertised.
One reason I went for it was the flexibility of access. I’ve asked them to point to the small print that presumably states that access is limited. I was certainly not aware.
They haven’t even got clarity over their office hours - sign at the facility (which you can’t read from the road, what use is that?!) says one thing, website says another.
On the plus side, the staff are always very pleasant and friendly. But that’s not much use if one cannot access out of hours.
More negatives are the very tiresome access (when one can!) with a constant intrusive alarm, door constantly closing, inadequately small trolleys, terrible lighting (take a head torch) and out of date, inconsistent notices all over the place telling you to do this, don’t do that, don’t use the lift out of office hours (seriously?!), you’ll be charged if you do this, etc etc.
I need storage for at least another year so I will be looking for an alternative. Had an excellent experience with Storage Geeks in Chertsey a few years back, I only didn’t use them because they’re a bit further for me now, but they were most definitely 24 hour access!

Great service
Great service - we needed a large unit (500 sq ft) asap before Christmas as my father was about to exchange contracts on his house, but didn't want to do anything beforehand. So I managed to hold a unit by paying a small deposit.
Staff were very helpful and patient with us completing all the forms/ID/payment.
I find the app works well with the codes to gain access to the unit and we are happy that our belongings are safe and secure. Would recommend.
