Acadium is a great platform, and I would highly recommend it to any small business owners looking for interns to help scale their business and provide mentorship. It was a great opportunity for both the intern and myself, and it provided excellent personal development for the intern. I have no complaints.
Just Awful, No Refunds
I paid for a business service represented as providing “fully vetted” apprentices with solid
skills in social media and marketing. I was told these were college students or recent
graduates capable of producing this work.
I interviewed the provided “apprentice,” and the individual not only failed to meet even
the most basic qualifications and readiness represented, but was unable to demonstrate
any meaningful social media or marketing competency at all. Further, the individual was
unable to communicate clearly and presented poor, error-ridden “work” samples, many of
which appear to have been hastily created with AI.
Frankly, the interview was so far below what was represented and promised that I have
serious concerns about the company’s practices. The whole process appears designed to
attract clients with a professional presentation and sales pitch, only to provide clearly
unemployable individuals incapable of performing the promised work. By disqualifying
refunds at the exact moment a client first encounters the assigned “apprentice,” the
company ensures they retain payment no matter what.
This represents a significant and material discrepancy between the service as advertised
and the service delivered. Immediately following the interview, I notified Acadium,
canceled my account, and requested a refund, which was denied.
I am disputing this charge with AmEX - who has so far and unbelievably upheld charge - and the Better Business Bureau, on the basis of a gross misrepresentation and failure to deliver
the promised service.

I signed up for Acadium and was charged $997 on February 14, 2026 on my American Express card. At no point during the signup process was it made clear that this was a recurring charge. For a charge of this size, that is not a small omission — it is a dealbreaker. I never would have agreed.
When I tried to get my money back, I hit a wall. No phone support. Email responses that go nowhere. A refund policy designed to make sure you never qualify.
I am not alone. Scroll through the reviews here and you will see the same story repeated: undisclosed recurring billing, impossible cancellations, denied refunds. Multiple customers — including me — have had to go directly to their credit card companies to get their money back.
I have filed a dispute with American Express and a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
If you are thinking about signing up: the service may sound appealing. But understand exactly what you are agreeing to before you hand over your credit card. And know that if anything goes wrong, you will be on your own.

Dynamic international role
My 3-month project contract with a pan-Canadian company, was a dynamic and rewarding experience. I worked on marketing operations design and automation, creating workflows and serving as an interface with international project companies.
I received deep, hands-on experience and training with HubSpot CRM and used Make to optimize marketing processes. I also contributed to webpage design and applied my existing skills in research, analysis, and marketing strategy to enhance project outcomes. This role expanded my skill set and experience, helped me break into marketing operations, and provided the opportunity to communicate effectively across multiple time zones.
This was an excellent use of my time. My mentor was a highly skilled and experienced polymath, offering a broad perspective and invaluable guidance throughout the project.

If no stars was possible, that's what they've earned themselves. My story parallels countless other stories on reddit. On July 23, 2025, I paid Acadium $1500 for a service to source a qualified candidate with verifiable web design skills. The core commitment was to provide an intern capable of assisting with a time-sensitive project, specifically with tasks such as graphics, formatting, and storefront design.
The nature of this dispute is a complete failure to deliver on the promised service and a deceptive business practice regarding their refund policy.
Key Issues:
Failure to Provide a Viable Candidate: Over the past 20 days, not a single candidate provided by Acadium has proven viable. Candidates have repeatedly exhibited a fundamental lack of professionalism by either canceling meetings at the last minute or failing to show up for scheduled interviews. This has prevented me from hiring anyone and has completely stalled my project.
Deceptive Refund Policy: Acadium’s policy states that a refund is only possible if a client requests one before being introduced to a candidate. Since an introduction is the very first action taken after payment, this policy effectively eliminates the possibility of a refund, regardless of the quality of the candidates or the failure to deliver the service. This practice is unethical and predatory.
Lack of Resolution: Despite multiple attempts to resolve this issue via email, including an escalation to an internal manager (Amanda), my concerns have been ignored. There has been no progress in nearly a month, and the company has refused to process a refund, citing their flawed policy.
I have not received any of the services I paid for. I am requesting the Better Business Bureau’s assistance in securing a full refund of $1500 from Acadium for their failure to deliver on their contractual obligations and their use of a deceptive business policy.

I signed up for Acadium expecting relevant mentorship and professional support. What I got instead was a series of mismatched connections that had nothing to do with my goals or industry. Despite carefully outlining my needs, the platform continuously recommended irrelevant profiles.
After two weeks of trying to make it work, I requested help from customer support—only to be met with vague, unhelpful replies and no real resolution.
I invested $2,400 into this program and, after canceling early due to the lack of value, I was issued a refund for less than half of what I paid. For a platform that positions itself as a career accelerator, this felt like a complete waste of both time and money.
