To get started I searched the web for an alternative to Feline Cuisine cat food as it has become rare to find.
I found 2 good brands, namely Ultra Cat and Lokuno.
I saw that Absolute pets has both these brands available online and at very good budget prices. Online it shows approx. R270 per 2kg bag of adult cat food.
After paying online and putting in my delivery address (delivery cost R35 , my area is approx 5km from the store). I noticed that they gave me a discounted price on the products which was super.
The head office in Cape Town called me to tell me that they don't have stock of the Ultra cat and she said I should choose something else or I can get a refund. I opted to choose 2 x 2kg Lokuno cat food because the refund process takes up to 14 days according to their policy.
I waited eagerly for my delivery . I received communicaiton on the app that my order is packed and on the way. They sent me an sms with the drivers name that will be delivering.After waiting and waiting I did not receive the parcel, instead the parcel status showed it has been returned. I tried getting hold of the driver and I tried emailing the place but no response until the next day. They said that the driver canceled the delivery but with no reason given.
I got worried as I needed this urgently. SO I went online to check other customers reviews and they were almost 99% very bad ratings especially on delivery. So I called them again and I arranged with them for me to pick up the order instead.
They were helpful at the Cresta store and said I could come collect. The online personal said they will refund my delivery cost which is yet to be received.
I went to The store and it was a smooth transaction. They have more things available in store than what they say isn't available online.
I bought some extras while I was there. The lady in store apologised to me and said sorry for the inconvenience and it wont happen again. I told her that I would rather come purchase in store because the delivery didn't work out.
My conclusion is that the delivery system doesn't work. So in my opinion don't book delivery with them.
rather opt for the collect in store option. But before doing so , call the store and ensure they have stock of what you want to order first.
SO a 3.5 rating would be fair in my opinion.
