Soundpaint

Soundpaint is amazing. For a free engine, the amount of effort, thought and dedication going into it shows that it is more than just a product.

The library of sounds is of high quality and growing all the time... and it is very reasonably priced.

Support is an example of what really good support can and should be everywhere.

Disappointing experience

Purchased the vocal bundle over the weekend and was very disappointed. It’s a long winded effort to load and audition the samples due to way you have to load the samples from the file section rather than the library. Once loaded in I was very disappointed with the sounds straight out of the box and would have to do a lot of work to have them sounding right. So after a few hours and deciding I’ll never use them I find out there’s no way to get a refund. So thanks for that 8dio, I won’t be using you again.

Wonderful, good value choirs; helpful customer service

I have bought some of their choirs. I have had my eye on the Spitfire Audio Eric Whitacre library but that's too expensive for me. I can't compare them in use but if you want that sort of tonality then 8dio audio offer some fabulous sounding options, which are great value when on a discount. Excellent customer service too - prompt, helpful, fixed a problem which was my own error.

8DIO used to produce highly intriguing…

8DIO used to produce highly intriguing sampled instruments.
However, with the introduction of SoundPaint, their subscription service, it appears that their primary focus has shifted in that direction. Despite this shift, they continue to update their website regularly, maintaining an appearance of being up-to-date.

My experience with 8DIO took a disappointing turn after purchasing 'Aura Guitars.' Unfortunately, 8DIO does not offer refunds on any of their products. Much to my surprise, I discovered that this particular instrument is over eight years old. I had hoped to enhance the depth of my mixes with it, but I've encountered significant limitations:

1. The rhythmic possibilities are quite restricted.
2. The chords are fixed to perfect 5ths, with no option for adjustment.
3. Upon viewing one of their YouTube videos, which I admittedly should have watched before making the purchase, it became apparent that they have updated an older application. Unfortunately, the 'Mode Switch' feature only works intermittently. Frequently, I've had to delete and reload the instrument to regain access to the 'split function.'

To end on a positive note, I must commend 8DIO for their exceptional Advanced Drum Series, particularly the Blackbird Kit, which I utilize frequently.

My advice to potential buyers would be to thoroughly review several of 8DIO's YouTube videos before making any purchases. Additionally, it might be wise to wait for sales opportunities to maximize value.

So Far: Excellent sound, excellent GUI, Excellent SAMPLES

So far, with 3 libraries my experience with 8DIO is absolutely excellent! Even in well known Spitfire libraries like Hans Zimmer Percussion PRO, Albion, Iceni I haven't heard the extensive amount of detail and abundance in round robins as in the products from 8DIO. Round robins are essential to sample libraries and I don't understand that even huge companies often provide a lack in round robins. Well. 8DIO provides a wealth of them! I think they have even invented their own sample technique, btw.
If you have many Round robins, it means that when you i.e. build drum crescendos or play repetitive beats it's really gonna sounds as if somebody is PLAYING them and not like a repetition of 3 to 4 samples. I'm looking forward to dig further into their libraries. Hope that the sails stays on for a while. :)

I am just starting with this company and I can for sure say they have got their sh** together :) I have purchased 3 libraries. I only spend a little more than 50$ and I downloaded a total of 35 GB of quality samples.
