Farcical: Non-Fit-for-Purpose Heating Control

Not fit for purpose!

Main issue is that the valve heads simply don't work - at least on all my valves (bodies) - they are the common/standard 30mm thread ones. The valve heads seem to be pretty much randomly open or closed no matter what settings I try (there is no way to know their position beyond feeling the radiator and listening to the water flow).

My room temperatures are now much less controllable than I had with TRVs and simple single thermostat. 24-25 degree room are now common - both uncomfortable and boring a hole in my wallet. I now have to power off the heating (boiler) manually outside of the Wundasmart system to cool the rooms down.

Support is reasonably responsive but generally not helpful. They even stated that I will not be allowed to return the products (which are just purchased and have never worked) once used when I stated that I would be if they could not solve the problem -presumably they have not heard of consumer rights (let alone customer service).

The problem is very clear - the valve heads open/close position do not relate to what the system suggests they should be.

Support suggested I try fitting some of their (ugly makeshift) plastic adaptors (meant for non-30mm valve bodies) to presumably somehow make the valve head plunger match the valve pin. I have not tried this (not that I feel I should) - it is not even clear to me how given the lack of clear instruction.

Support also suggesting I may need to change my valves (some of which were fitted only a few months ago) - I have no idea what they would advise they should supposedly be changed to, and that will be a very expensive action and I have my doubts that would even help.

Other issues: Initial hub setup completely failed - needed separate 2.4GHz wifi (not shared with 5Ghz), and also a developer to log in to the hub and change some secret setting to avoid useless NULL errors communicating with devices.

Not sure where are these supposed numerous 5-star reviews that are claimed. I give 2-stars because the price seems reasonable (if it worked), and the app seems well laid out, user friendly and informative. If only the primary purpose of controlling the heating was met it could be 5-star.
